In most of Arabian courtiers Rhazya stricta is extensively utilized in public medicine for several diseases *** this study,crude alkaloid extract of ***(CAERS)coated with silver nanoparticles(CAERS-AgNPs)as potential treatment against diabetes in DM animal model was *** albino male rats(n=80)were injected with STZ to induce Diabetes Mellitus type-2(DM).DM-rats were injected different doses of CAERS or CAERS-nanoparticles(CAERS-NPs)for 2 *** results exhibited that mRNA expression of insulin and insulin receptor was down-regulated,activity levels of antioxidant enzymes were decreased,generation of ROS mediated DNA adducts and apoptosis in DM-rats was increased significantly than those in negative control *** contrast,the expression of insulin and insulin receptor genes was up-regulated,activity levels of antioxidant enzymes,ROS generation,DNA adducts and apoptosis incidence in DM-rats supplemented with high dose of CAERS and all doses of CAERS-NPs were *** conclusion:*** nanoparticles improved the anti-diabetic effect of the plant much more than the powder form of the *** action could be attributed to modification of the chemical and physical properties of the plant *** properties modification might be improved the ability of plant compounds to penetrate the cell membrane which facilitating release of plant materials into the target cells.

Objective: To evaluate the in vitro cytotoxic activity of the fractionated extract as well as isolated compounds of Arum palaestinum Boiss.(A. palaestinum)(black calla lily), and to identify the volatile components which may be responsible for the potential antitumor ***: A. palaestinum was collected from its natural habitats and subjected to phytochemical analysis for separation of pure compounds. In vitro cytotoxic activity was investigated against four human carcinoma cell lines Hep2, He La, Hep G2 and MCF7 for the fractionated extract and isolated compounds. While, the diethyl ether fraction was subjected to GC–MS analysis as it exhibited the most potent cytotoxic effect to evaluate the active constituents responsible for the cytotoxic ***: Four flavonoid compounds were isolated(luteolin, chrysoeriol, isoorientin,isovitexin) from the diethyl ether and ethyl acetate. The extracts and the pure isolated compounds showed a significant high antiproliferative activity against all investigated cell lines. The GC–MS analysis revealed the separation and identification of 15 compounds representing 95.01% of the extract and belonging to different groups of chemical ***: The present study is considered to be the first report on the cytotoxic activities carried out on different selected fractions and pure compounds of A. palaestinum to provide evidences for its strong antitumor activities. In addition,chrysoeriol and isovitexin compounds were isolated for the first time from the studied taxa.

Solving Fuel-Based Unit Commitment Problem Using Improved Binary Bald Eagle Search

The Unit Commitment Problem(UCP)corresponds to the planning of power generation *** objective of the fuel-based unit commitment problem is to determine the optimal schedule of power generators needed to meet the power demand,which also minimizes the total operating cost while adhering to different constraints such as power generation limits,unit startup,and shutdown *** this paper,four different binary variants of the Bald Eagle Search(BES)algorithm,were introduced,which used two variants using S-shape,U-shape,and V-shape transfer *** addition,the best-performing variant(using an S-shape transfer function)was selected and improved further by incorporating two binary operators:swap-window and *** variation is labeled Improved Binary Bald Eagle Search(IBBESS2).All five variants of the proposed algorithm were successfully adopted to solve the fuel-based unit commitment problem using seven test cases of 4-,10-,20-,40-,60-,80-,and *** comparative evaluation,34 comparative methods from existing literature were compared,in which IBBESS2 achieved competitive scores against other optimization *** other words,the proposed IBBESS2 performs better than all other competitors by achieving the best average scores in 20-,40-,60-,80-,and 100-unit ***,IBBESS2 demonstrated quicker convergence to an optimal solution than other algorithms,especially in large-scale unit commitment *** Friedman statistical test further validates the results,where the proposed IBBESS2 is ranked the *** conclusion,the proposed IBBESS2 can be considered a powerful method for solving large-scale UCP and other related problems.

Adopting high penetration levels of electric vehicles(EVs) necessitates the implementation of appropriate charging management systems to mitigate their negative impacts on power distribution networks. Currently, most of the proposed EV charging management techniques rely on the availability of high-bandwidth communication links. Such techniques are far from realization due to(1) the lack of utility-grade communication systems in many cases such as secondary(low-voltage) power distribution systems to which EVs are connected, rural areas, remote communities, and islands, and(2) existing fears and concerns about the data privacy of EV users and cyber-physical security. For these cases, appropriate local control schemes are needed to ensure the adequate management of EV charging without violating the grid operation requirements. Accordingly, this paper introduces a new communication-less management strategy for EV charging in droop-controlled islanded microgrids. The proposed strategy is autonomous, as it is based on the measurement of system frequency and local bus voltages. The proposed strategy implements a social charging fairness policy during periods when the microgrid distributed generators(DGs) are in short supply by allocating more system capacity to the EVs with less charging in the past. Furthermore, a novel communication-less EV load shedding scheme is incorporated into the management strategy to provide relief to the microgrid during events of severe undervoltage or underfrequency occurrences due to factors such as high loading or DG outages. Numerical simulations demonstrate the superiority of the proposed strategy over the state-of-the-art controllers in modulating the EV charging demand to counteract microgrid instability.

Investigation of climate change impacts on food security has become a global hot *** so,efforts to mitigate these issues in arid regions have been ***,in this paper,further research is discussed based on data obtained from various crop and climate *** DSSATcrop models(CMs)(CERESWheat and N-Wheat)were calibrated with two wheat cultivars(Gemiza9 and Misr1).A baseline simulation(1981-2010)was compared with different scenarios of simulations using three Global Climate Models(GCMs)for the 2030s,2050s and *** impacts of climate change were assessed using the GCMs and CMs under the high emission Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP8.5).Results predicted decreased wheat grain yields by a mean of 8.7%,11.4%and 13.2%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,relative to the baseline *** impacts of climatic change are probable,despite some uncertainties within the GCMs(i.e.,2.1%,5.0%and 8.0%)and CMs(i.e.,2.2%,6.0%and 9.2%).Changing the planting date with a scenario of plus or minus 5 or 10 days from the common practice was assessed as a potentially effective adaptation option,which may partially offset the negative impacts of climate *** the sowing date by 10 days(from 20 November to 30 November)proved the optimum scenario and decreased further reduction in wheat yields resulting from climate change to 5.2%,6.8%and 8.5%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,compared with the 20 November *** planting 5-days earlier scenario showed a decreased impact on climate change ***,the 10-days early planting scenario increased yield reduction under projected climate *** cultivar Misr1 was more resistant to rising temperature than *** the negative impacts of projected climate change on wheat production,water use efficiency would slightly *** ensemble of multi-model estimated impacts and adaptation uncertainties of climate change can assist decision-makers in planning clima
