Nonfunctionality of engineered water sources after two catastrophic cyclones—Sidr in November 2007 and Aila in May 2009—created acute scarcity of safe drinking water in coastal *** objective of this study was to estimate households’willingness to pay(WTP)for disaster resilient water sources in Dacope upazila of Khulna District in southwestern coastal *** applying the double bounded dichotomous contingent valuation method to a dataset of 250 randomly selected households,we found that the mean WTP is BDT 263 and that inaccessibility to functional safe drinking water sources is the most significant determining factor of households’*** mean WTP for a disaster resilient water source project in the study area,we measured a present value of aggregate WTP over project’s life span worth about BDT 624(USD 7.37)million,which is about14.30 times the present value of project’s aggregate establishment and maintenance ***,charging the local inhabitants a water tariff at mean WTP would lead to the exclusion of around 50%of the people from getting access to the improved water services or create a free riding *** simulation exercises this study determined that the socially optimal water tariff is BDT 50 per *** tariff would not only generate revenue of more than five times the project cost but would also create access to disaster resilient improved drinking water sources for almost 99%of the people.

Mulberry longicorn beetle, Apriona germari, has been reported to produce two endo-β-1,4-glucanases or AgEGases (accession Nos. Q6SS52 and Q5XQD1). AgEGase sequence contains catalytic motif (amino acid residues 37~48), which is the characteristic of family Glycohydrolase 45 and is identified as the substrate binding site. The application of bioinformatics ap-proaches includes sequence analysis, structural modeling and inhibitor docking to relate the structure and function of AgEGases. We have dissected the sequence and structure of AgEGase catalytic motif and compared it with crystal structure of Humicola insolens endoglucanases V. The results show an involvement of sulfur containing amino acid residues in the active site of the enzyme. Cys residues and position of disulfide bonds are highly conserved between the two structures of endoglucanases of A. germari. Surface calculation of AgEGase structure in the absence of Cys residues reveals greater accessibility of the catalytic site to the substrate involving Asp42, a highly conserved residue. For the inhibition study, tannin-based structure was docked into the catalytic site of AgEGase using ArgusLab 4.0 and it resulted in a stable complex formation. It is suggested that the inhibition could occur through formation of a stable transition state analog-enzyme complex with the tannin-based inhibitor, as observed with other insect cellulases in our laboratory.

Corrosion resistance and thermal stability of sputtered Fe44Al34Ti7N15 and Al61Ti11N28 thin films for prospective application in oil and gas industry

Fe-and Al-based thin-film metallic glass coatings(Fe44Al34Ti7N15and Al61Ti11N28) were fabricated using magnetron co-sputtering technique, and their corrosion performances compared against wrought 316 L stainless steel. The results of GI-XRD and XPS analyses demonstrated amorphous structure and oxide layer formation on the surface of the fabricated thin films, respectively. The potentiodynamic（PD） polarization test in chloridethiosulfate（NH4Cl + Na2S2O3） solution revealed lower corrosion current(Icorr)（0.42 ± 0.02 μA/cm2and0.086 ± 0.001 μA/cm2Vs. 0.76 ± 0.05 μA/cm2）, lower passivation current(Ipass)（1.45 ± 0.03 μA/cm2and1.83 ± 0.07 μA/cm2Vs. 1.98 ± 0.04 μA/cm2）, and approximately six-fold higher breakdown potential（Ebd） for Fe-and Al-based coatings than those of wrought 316 L stainless steel. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy（EIS） of both films showed 4-and 2-fold higher charge transfer resistance（Rct）, 7-and 2.5-times higher film resistance（Rf）, lower film capacitance values（Qf）(10 ± 2.4 μS-sacm-2, and 5.41 ± 0.8 μS-sacm-2Vs. 18 ± 2.21 μSsacm-2), and lower double-layer capacitance values（Qdl）(31.33 ± 4.74 μS-sacm-2, and 15.3 ± 0.48 μS-sacm-2Vs.43 ± 4.23 μS-sacm-2), indicating higher corrosion resistance of the thin films. Cyclic Voltammetry（CV） scan exhibited that the passive films formed on the Fe-and Al-based coatings were more stable and less prone to pitting corrosion than the wrought 316 L stainless steel. The surface morphology of both films via SEM endorsed the CV scan results, showing better resistance to pitting corrosion. Furthermore, the thermal analysis via TGA and DSC revealed the excellent thermal stability of the thin films over a wide temperature range typically observed in oilgas industries.

The development of rural areas usually has a positive impact on the urban-rural integration. This study explores an innovative approach to stimulate rural development by proposing qualified villages as central villages that can provide basic urban services for their residents and residents of neighboring villages. This approach can contribute to overcoming the various problems that rural areas faced at the social, economic, and environmental levels. It seeks to achieve spatial sustainability of rural areas, representing a new approach by integrating urban development methods to revitalize rural villages. The study analyzed 15 villages belonging to Abbasiya District of AL Kufa City in the Najaf Governorate of Iraq. Based on the GIS techniques and the analysis of urban service indicators(village population, percentage of urban building materials used in villages, distance between village and health centers, distance between village and main roads, nature of economic activity, distance between village and educational institutions, distance between village and drinking water sources, number of communication towers, and distance between village and urban administrative center), this study proposed that Abu Gharb and Albu Ghraib can served as central villages in Abbasiya District in the future. This study establishes a new rural spatial structure to achieve rural sustainable development, improves the development status of rural areas, and provides a theoretical basis for the government and relevant institutions to use urban service indicators, achieving rural sustainable development and formulating relevant development policies in Abbasiya District.

Economic dispatch has a significant effect on optimal economical operation in the power systems in industrial revolution 4.0 in terms of considerable savings in *** non-linearity are added to make the fossil fuel-based power systems more *** order to achieve an accurate economical schedule,valve point loading effect,ramp rate constraints,and prohibited operating zones are being considered for realistic *** this paper,an improved,and modified version of conventional particle swarm optimization(PSO),called Oscillatory PSO(OPSO),is devised to provide a cheaper schedule with optimum *** conventional PSO is improved by deriving a mechanism enabling the particle towards the trajectories of oscillatory motion to acquire the entire search space.A set of differential equations is implemented to expose the condition for trajectory motion in *** adaptive inertia weights,this OPSO method provides an optimized cost of generation as compared to the conventional particle swarm optimization and other new meta-heuristic approaches.

Coronavirus is a potentially fatal disease that normally occurs in mammals and ***,in humans,the virus spreads through aerial droplets of any type of fluid secreted from the body of an infected *** is a family of viruses that is more lethal than other unpremeditated *** December 2019,a new variant,i.e.,a novel coronavirus(COVID-19)developed in Wuhan province,*** January 23,2020,the number of infected individuals has increased rapidly,affecting the health and economies of many countries,including *** objective of this research is to provide a system to classify and categorize the COVID-19 outbreak in Pakistan based on the data collected every day from different regions of *** research also compares the performance of machine learning classifiers(i.e.,Decision Tree(DT),Naive Bayes(NB),Support Vector Machine,and Logistic Regression)on the COVID-19 dataset collected in *** to the experimental results,DT and NB classifiers outperformed the other *** addition,the classified data is categorized by implementing a Bayesian Regularization Artificial Neural Network(BRANN)*** results demonstrate that the BRANN classifier outperforms state-of-the-art classifiers.

The Internet of Things(IoT)and related applications have witnessed enormous growth since its *** diversity of connecting devices and relevant applications have enabled the use of IoT devices in every *** the applicability of these applications are predominant,battery life remains to be a major challenge for IoT devices,wherein unreliability and shortened life would make an IoT application completely *** this work,an optimized deep neural networks based model is used to predict the battery life of the IoT *** present study uses the Chicago Park Beach dataset collected from the publicly available data repository for the experimentation of the proposed *** dataset is pre-processed using the attribute mean technique eliminating the missing values and then One-Hot encoding technique is implemented to convert it to numerical *** processed data is normalized using the Standard Scaler *** Flame Optimization(MFO)Algorithm is then implemented for selecting the optimal features in the *** optimal features are finally fed into the DNN model and the results generated are evaluated against the stateof-the-art models,which justify the superiority of the proposed MFO-DNN model.
