L-arginine alleviates postmenopausal complications in female rats by stimulating ovarian dopamine beta hydroxylase

Objective:To evaluate the levels of estrogen,albumin and gonadotropins(luteinizing hormone,follicle-stimulating hormone)as well as the activity of dopamine beta hydroxylase(DAβH)in aged female rats treated with nitric oxide precursor L-arginine and neuronal nitric oxide synthase antagonist ***:A total of 224 Wistar rats(36 weeks old,weighing 250 g)based on a random sampling were divided into the control and experimental groups after Pap smear *** control group received only saline(1 mL/kg)intraperitoneally(i.p.).The experiential groups were treated with L-arginine(5,25 and 50 mg/kg,i.p.)and L-NAME(5 and 25 mg/kg,i.p.)for 3 to 21 days,once a *** samples were taken from the rats and the levels of estrogen and albumin and gonadotropins in the serum were monitored by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit,and the ovaries were examined immunohistopathologically for DAβH ***:L-arginine(5 mg/kg)significantly increased estrogen level(P<0.05),which was associated with DAβH activation in the ovaries.L-NAME reduced this effect when administered prior to L-arginine dose.L-arginine caused no significant change in the levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating *** for the lowest dose of L-arginine in the shortest period,albumin levels significantly decreased in other treatments compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:L-arginine is likely to reduce postmenopausal problems due to an increased nitric oxide level.

Cross-flow analysis of injection wells in a multilayered reservoir

During fluid injection into a multilayered reservoir,a different pressure gradient is generated across the face of each permeable *** pressure gradient generates driving forces in the wellbore during well shut-in that causes the injected fluid moves from higher pressure layers to lower pressure layers,a phenomenon known as interwell ***-flow behavior depends on the initial pressure in the permeable layers and may be referred to as natural cross-flow(identical or natural initial pressures)and forced cross-flow(different initial pressures because of exploitation).Cross-flow may induce sand production and liquefaction in the higher pressure layers as well as formation damage,filter cake build-up and permeability reduction in the lower pressure ***,understanding cross-flow during well shut-in is important from a production and reservoir engineering perspective,particularly in unconsolidated or poorly consolidated sandstone *** and forced cross-flow is modeled for some injection wells in an oil reservoir located at North *** solution uses a transient implicit finite difference approach for multiple sand layers with different permeabilities separated by impermeable shale *** and forced cross-flow rates for each reservoir layer during shut-in are calculated and compared with different production logging tool(PLT)*** appears that forced cross-flow is usually more prolonged and subject to a higher flow rate when compared with natural cross-flow,and is thus worthy of more detailed analysis.

Because of rapid progress in the electronics industry,the market has faced a huge demand for novel materials in the field of electromagnetic interference(EMI)*** functional polymer composites have demonstrated great potential to fulfill this *** synthesize the polymeric composites,functional conductive nanoadditives such as graphene,carbon nanotubes,and MXene are commonly added to polymeric matrices,and the conductive polymer nanocomposites exhibit promising electrical conductivity as well as EMI shielding *** manufacturing(AM),also referred to as threedimensional(3D)printing,has been increasingly employed to fabricate complicated geometry components in the medical,aerospace,and automotive *** has also been used to fabricate advanced EMI shielding materials for sensors,supercapacitors,energy storage devices,and flexible *** review aims at introducing the different 3D printing methods applied for the fabrication of EMI shielding polymer *** impact of the AM process on the functionality of the samples is also ***,the influence of the nanofiller type and amount on the microstructure and performance of the fabricated nanocomposites is ***,the prospects and recommended works for future study are outlined.

Survey on Parasites in Sparrows of Amol （Mazandaran Province, Iran）

In order to survey on sparrows parasites （Passer domesticus）, 100 samples were collected from the citrus gardens of Amol＇s City. The surface of their body checked for presence of ectoparasites. The blood samples took from their wings for blood parasites. At the laboratory, the body of sparrows opened and the gastrointestinal checked for endoparasites. The intestine opened and scratched carefully to find worms. Worms kept in alcohol-glycerin （10%）. Eggs ＆ oocysts of the parasites checked, by fecal floatation test. The result shows that the infection with Railletina is 1%, Ascaridia galli （2%）, Heterakis gallinarum （4%）, eggs of A. galli （5%）, oocyst of Eimeri （28%）, Dermanyssus gallinae （1%）. 11% of the sparrows infected with Plasmodium in their bloods.
