Determining the adsorption of shale gas on complex surfaces remains a challenge in molecular simulation *** essentially stem from the need to create a realistic shale structure model in terms of mineral heterogeneityand ***,precise characterization of the competitive adsorption of hydrogen andmethane in shale generally requires the experimental determination of the related adsorptive *** thisstudy,the adsorption of adsorbates,methane(CH_(4)),and hydrogen(H_(2))on heterogeneous shale surface modelsof Kaolinite,Orthoclase,Muscovite,Mica,C_(60),and Butane has been simulated in the frame of a moleculardynamic’s numerical *** results show that these behaviors are influenced by pressure and *** increasing the pressure from 500 to 2000 psi,the sorption effect for CH_(4)significantly increasesbut shows a decline at a certain stage(if compared to H_(2)).The research findings also indicate that raw shalehas a higher capacity to adsorb CH_(4)compared to ***,in shale,this difference is negligible.

Accurate fluid flow simulation in geologically complex reservoirs is of particular importance in construction of reservoir *** approaches in naturally fractured reservoir simulation involve use of unstructured grids or a structured grid coupled with locally unstructured grids and discrete fracture *** methods suffer from drawbacks such as lack of flexibility and of ease of *** this study,I combined fracture modeling by elastic gridding which improves flexibility,especially in complex *** proposed model revises conventional modeling fractures by hard rigid planes that do not change through *** is a dubious assumption,especially in reservoirs with a high production rate in the *** proposed elastic fracture modeling considers changes in fracture properties,shape and aperture through the *** strategy is only reliable for naturally fractured reservoirs with high fracture permeability and less permeable matrix and parallel fractures with less *** of elastic fracture modeling results with conventional modeling showed that these assumptions will cause production pressure to enlarge fracture apertures and change fracture shapes,which consequently results in lower production compared with what was previously *** is concluded that an elastic gridded model could better simulate reservoir performance.

Activated Hard Shell of Apricot Stones： A Promising Adsorbent in Gold Recovery

Activated carbon has been proven to be an effective adsorbent for the recovery of a wide variety of metal ions from aqueous solutions. In this research, the activated hard shell of Iranian apricot stones was used for gold recovery from electro-plating wastewater. The effect of parameters such as dose and particle size of adsorbent,pH, agitation speed of mixing on the gold recovery was investigated. The results showed that under the optimum operating conditions more than 98% of gold ions were adsorbed onto activated carbon after just 3 h. In addition, the adsorbed gold could be eluted from this adsorbent by improved striping method. The process involves contact of gold-laden adsorbent with a strong base at ambient temperatures followed by elution with an aqueous solution containing an organic solvent. It was found that activated hard shell of apricot stones has the potential to replace im ported commercial activated carbons in gold adsorption processes.

In this work,ultrasonic irradiation and destabilizer solvent were used for destabilizing colloidal platinum *** stabilized platinum nanoparticles were prepared in w/o microemulsion systems composed of sodium bis-（2-ethylhexyl） sulfosuccinate（AOT） and four different solvents,namely,cyclohexane,n-hexane,n-heptane,and *** recovery process of Pt nanoparticles from the colloidal systems was performed by exposing the colloidal samples to ultrasonic irradiation and applying various destabilizing *** of UV-visible spectra confirms that the quantity of Pt nanoparticles removed from the suspension depends on the length of time of the ultrasonic irradiation and the nature of the microemulsion oil phase.A critical time for the ultrasonic irradiation has been introduced for the phase separation of colloidal *** perform the solvent study,four destabilizer solvents,namely,dioxane,ethyl acetate,diethyl ether,and tetrahydrofuran,were used for breaking the colloidal suspension of platinum *** on the ’good solvent’ and ’poor solvent’ idea,it is verified that the effect of the destabilizer solvents on the aggregation process follows the following order：tetrahydrofuran 〉 ethyl acetate 〉dioxane〉 diethyl ether.

Root activity has an important impact on soil development but we have little knowledge of the interaction of the root zone and soil genetic *** aim of this investigation was to study the interactions between soil chemical characteristics and root zone processes in a declining Persian oak forest(Quercus brantii Lindl.).A randomized complete block design was used to investigate the long-term eff ect of Persian oak on soil horizons,and the chemical and biological properties in two soil zones(under and outside the canopy).Results indicate that the rhizosphere zone had signifi cantly higher total organic carbon(TOC)than outside the canopy soil in the upper soil *** subsurface horizons,water-extractable organic carbon values were signifi cantly higher in rhizosphere than in non-rhizospheric *** biomass carbon(MBC)values in the rhizospheric zone decreased from the fi rst to the second *** MBC/TOC ratio indicated signifi-cant diff erences between the rhizosphere and soils outside of the canopy,with the exception of the subsurface *** the subsurface horizon of the rhizosphere,there was greater respiration of organic carbon(ΣCO 2/TOC)than in outside of canopy *** addition,root processes infl uenced pH,nitrogen fractions,and availability of phosphorus,potassium,iron,zinc and *** erences in soil characteristics between rhizospheric and non-rhizospheric zones were signifi cant in surface horizons due to higher root density than in deeper soil *** fi ndings indicate that Persian oak(Quercus brantii Lindl.)roots infl uenced the main soil chemical properties,even in calcareous soils.

Heavy metal determination was carried out by applying the solid phase extraction （SPE） method in batch mode followed by atomic absorption spectroscopy （AAS） and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrosco py （ICP-AES） from aqueous solutions using Ghezeljeh montmorillonite nanoclay as a new natural adsorbent. The Ghezeljeh clay is characterized by using Fourier Transform Infrared （FT-IR） Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Mi- croscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectrometry （SEM-EDS） and X-ray Diffractometry （XRD） and X-ray Fluorescence （XRF）. The results of XRD and FT-IR of nanoclay confirm that montmorillonite is the dominant mineral phase. Based on SEM images of Ghezeljeh clay, it can be seen that the distance between the plates is Nano. The effects of varying parameters such as initial concentration of metal ions, pH and type of buffer solutions, amount of ad- sorbent, contact time, and temperature on the adsorption process were examined. The effect of various interfer- ing ions was studied. The adsorption data correlated with Freundlich, Langmuir, Dubinin-Radushkevich （D-R）, and Temkin isotherms. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms showed the best fit to the equilibrium data for Hg（II）, but the equilibrium nature of Cu（ll） adsorption has been described by the Langmuir isotherm. The kinetic data were described with pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and double-exponential models, The adsorp- tion process follows a pseudo-second-order reaction scheme, Calculation of AGσ, △Hσ and ASσ showed that tilenature of Hg（II） ion sorption onto the Ghezeljeh nanoclay was endothermic and was favored at higher temper- attire, and the nature of Cu（II） ion sorption was exothermic and was favored at lower temperature,

The effect of Er3＋ ion concentration on transient and steady-state behavior in 45-nm Er3＋：YAG crystal is investigated. It is shown that by changing the signal field, the coherent field and the concentration of Er3＋ ions in the crystal, the absorption, dispersion, and group index of the weak probe field can be adjusted. Also, it is found that the probe absorption occurs in the presence of population inversion and probe amplification is obtained in the absence of population inversion.

We study the absorption-dispersion process and group index of weak probe field in a four-level Er^3＋：YAG *** find that the Er^3＋ion concentration and incoherent pumping field can influence the absorption-dispersion process and group index of weak probe field. Moreover, our results show that Er^3＋ion concentration plays a major role in lasing without inversion and absorption with inversion.
