The effect of celastrol in combination with 5-fluorouracil on proliferation and apoptosis of gastric cancer cell lines

Background:Despite the availability of chemotherapy drugs such as 5-ﬂuorouracil(5-FU),the treatment of some cancers such as gastric cancer remains challenging due to drug resistance and side *** study aimed to investigate the effect of celastrol in combination with the chemotherapy drug 5-FU on proliferation and induction of apoptosis in human gastric cancer cell lines(AGS and EPG85-257).Materials and Methods:In this in vitro study,AGS and EPG85-257 cells were treated with different concentrations of celastrol,5-FU,and their *** proliferation was assessed using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT)*** synergistic effect of 5-FU and celastrol was studied using Compusyn *** DNA content at different phases of the cell cycle and apoptosis rate was measured usingﬂow ***:Co-treatment with low concentrations(10%inhibitory concentration(IC10))of celastrol and 5-FU signiﬁcantly reduced IC50(p<0.05)so that 48 h after treatment,IC50 was calculated at 3.77 and 6.9μM for celastrol,20.7 and 11.6μM for 5-FU,and 5.03 and 4.57μM for their combination for AGS and EPG85-257 cells,*** mean percentage of apoptosis for AGS cells treated with celastrol,5-FU,and their combination was obtained 23.9,41.2,and 61.9,and for EPG85-257 cells 5.65,46.9,and 55.7,*** addition,the 5-FU and celastrol-5-FU combination induced cell cycle arrest in the synthesis ***:Although celastrol could decrease the concentration of 5-ﬂuorouracil that sufﬁced to suppress gastric cancer cells,additional studies are required to arrive at conclusive evidence on the anticancer effects of celastrol.

Nowadays,having an effective technique in preparing semi-solid slurries for rheocasting process seems to be an essential *** this study,semi-solid slurry of A356 aluminum alloy was prepared by three-phase annular electromagnetic stirring(A-EMS)technique under different *** effects of stirring current,pouring temperature and stirring time on microstructural evolution,mean particle size,shape factor and solid fraction were *** rheocasting process was carried out by using a drop weight setup and to inject the prepared semi-solid slurry in optimal conditions into the step-die *** filling behavior and mechanical properties of parts were *** evolution showed that the best semi-solid slurry which had fine spherical particles with the average size of~27μm and a shape factor of~0.8 was achieved at the stirring current of 70 A,melt pouring temperature of 670℃,and stirring time of 30 *** these conditions,the step-die cavity was completely filled at die preheating temperature of 470℃.The hardness increases by decreasing step thickness as well as die preheating ***,the tensile properties are improved at lower die preheating *** fracture surface,which consists of a complex topography,indicates a typical ductile fracture.

A Novel Method of Deinterleaving Radar Pulse Sequences Based on a Modified DBSCAN Algorithm

A modified DBSCAN algorithm is presented for deinterleaving of radar pulses in modern EW environments.A main characteristic of the proposed method is that using only time of arrival of pulses,the method can sort the pulses *** PDW information such as rise time,carrier frequency,pulse width,modulation on pulse,fall time and direction of arrival are not *** identify the valid PRIs in a set of interleaved pulses,an innovative modification of the DBSCAN algorithm is introduced which is accurate and easy to *** proposed method determines valid PRIs more accurately and neglects the spurious ones more efficiently as compared to the classical histogram based algorithms such as ***,without specifying any input parameter,the proposed method can deinterleave radar pulses while up to 30%jitter is present in the associated *** accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are verified by computer simulations and real data *** simulations are based on different real and operational scenarios where the presence of missing and spurious pulses are also ***,the simulation results can be of practical significance.

Identification of Urban Worn-Out Textures and Prioritization of Organizing Strategies through Remote Sensing Performance and BWM Method Combination:(A Case Study: Zanjan City)

The growing trend of urban population has led to an increase in worn-out urban textures. Although various policies have been proposed to organize these textures, past data such as detailed and comprehensive plans in Iranian cities have afforded to achieve desirable results. For this purpose,Landsat satellite images taken on December 8, 2019 were used. Hence, this study tried to provide the latest method of information on urban worn-out textures with a new method and identify areas prone to becoming dysfunctional textures. For this purpose, Landsat 8 satellite images(December 2020) have been used. In this regard, in order to analyze the ENVI environment, two methods have been used:(1) The command of emissivity;(2) the calculation of the normalized and emissive vegetation cover index NDVI(Esfandiari, Darabad Fariba, Raoof Mostafazadeh, Amirhesam Pasban, and Behruoz Nezafat Takleh. 2022. “Integrating Terrain and Vegetation Indices to Estimate and Identify the Soil Erosion Risk Amoughin Watershed, Ardabil.” Journal of Spatial Analysis and Environmental Hazarts, 9(1): 77–96.) represents the reflection of solar energy from the earth's surface, which indicates the types of vegetation conditions. To calculate the temperature of the city surface, LST(earth surface temperature in remote sensing refers to the heat measured by a radiometer in a momentary field of view)(Pirnazar et al., 2018). as well as to express the consequences of worn-out textures from the Driving forces-Pressure-State Impact-Response(DPSIR) model. Also, the best–worst method(BWM) is one of the newest and most effective multicriteria decision-making techniques, which is used to weigh the factors and decision criteria and determine the priority of decisions(Sadeghi Darvaze et al., 2019) has been used to express the preference of the solutions for the organization of worn-out textures. Iran experienced one of the largest methanol poisoning outbreaks shortly after the coronavirus pandemic due to misinformation about the beneficial effects of alcohol in preventing and treating this viral infection.^([1])According to the Iran Legal Medicine Organization(LMO),over 3,100 methanol toxicity cases and 728 deaths were reported across the country,resulting in a syndemic of methanol poisoning.^([2])There is very little literature on the electrographic predictors of cardiovascular mortality in methanol poisoned patients.^([3])

Analytical modeling of static behavior of electrostatically actuatednano/micromirrors considering van der Waals forces

In this paper, the effect of van der Waals （vdW） force on the pull-in behavior of electrostatically actuated nano/micromirrors is investigated. First, the minimum po- tential energy principle is utilized to find the equation gov- erning the static behavior of nano/micromirror under electro- static and vdW forces. Then, the stability of static equilib- rium points is analyzed using the energy method. It is found that when there exist two equilibrium points, the smaller one is stable and the larger one is unstable. The effects of dif- ferent design parameters on the mirror＇s pull-in angle and pull-in voltage are studied and it is found that vdW force can considerably reduce the stability limit of the mirror. At the end, the nonlinear equilibrium equation is solved numer- ically and analytically using homotopy perturbation method （HPM）. It is observed that a sixth order perturbation approx- imation can precisely model the mirror＇s behavior. The re- suits of this paper can be used for stable operation design and safe fabrication of torsional nano/micro actuators.

The first occurrence of Phlebopteris dunkeri and P. woodwardii(Matoniaceae) from the middle Jurassic of Iran

The coal horizons of the Middle Jurassic Hojedk Formation of East-Central Iran are fossiliferous, bearing numerous well-preserved fossil plants, comparable to the Shemshak Group/Formation in the Alborz Mountains in Northern Iran. Here we present two recently discovered fossil taxa from the Middle Jurassic Hojedk Formation of the Tabas Block(Central Iran). Based on their distinct morphologies, impression/compression specimens can be assigned to Phlebopteris dunkeri(Schenk) Schenk(Palaeontographica 23: 157–163, 1875) and P. woodwardii Leckenby(Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society 20(1–2): 74–82, 1864), belonging to Matoniaceae. This is the first record of these two taxa in Iran. Taxa belonging to Equisetaceae, Marattiaceae, Dipteridaceae, Schizaeaceae, Dicksoniaceae,Caytoniales, Bennettitales, Cycadales and Podozamitaceae were observed as accompanying taxa in the studied section. Ecology comparison of the Hojedk Formation plant fossils with the extant relatives of the fossil plant taxa occurring in these deposits indicates accumulation of the host strata under a moist warm(tropical to subtropical)climate during the Middle Jurassic.

Mineralogical and sink-float studies of Jajarm low-grade bauxite

Jajarm＇s bauxite deposits are mainly diasporic, and they have a low mass ratio of Al2O3/SiO2. It is necessary to increase the run-of-mine mass ratio before feeding the material to the Bayer process. Chemical analysis indicated that the low-grade bauxite sample from Jajarm contained 43.9wt% Al2O3 and 13.35wt% SiO2, resulting in a mass ratio of 3.29. According to mineralogical studies, the presence of aluminosilicate minerals such as kaolinite, illite, and quartz was the main reason for the decrease of the mass ratio. Microscopic observations revealed that, with the size reduction from -1000＋710 to -38 μm, the liberation degree of diaspore increased from 10% to 60%, and that of aluminosilicates increased from 20% to 85%. Heavy liquids with the densities of 2.8, 3.0, 3.2, and 3.4 g/cm3 were used to evaluate the heavy media separation in three sizes, i.e., -3350＋710, -710＋212, and -212＋125 μm. Laboratory studies confirm that the density of 3.2 g/cm3 can produce the concentrates （in sunk fractions） with recoveries of 89.09%, 91.24%, and 84.68% with the Al2O3/SiO2 mass ratios of 5.03, 5.16, and 5.15 for the -3350＋710, -710＋212, and -212＋ 125 μ m sizes, respectively.
