the development of scientific inquiry and research has yielded numerous benefits in the realm of intelligent traffic control systems, particularly in the realm of automatic license plate recognition for vehicles. the design of license plate recognition algorithms has undergone digitalization through the utilization of neural networks. In contemporary times, there is a growing demand for vehicle surveillance due to the need for efficient vehicle processing and traffic management. the design, development, and implementation of a license plate recognition system hold significant social, economic, and academic importance. the study aims to present contemporary methodologies and empirical findings pertaining to automated license plate recognition. the primary focus of the automatic license plate recognition algorithm was on image extraction, character segmentation, and recognition. the task of character segmentation has been identified as the most challenging function based on my observations. the license plate recognition project that we designed demonstrated the effectiveness of this method across various observed conditions. Particularly in low-light environments, such as during periods of limited illumination or inclement weather characterized by precipitation. the method has been subjected to testing using a sample size of fifty images, resulting in a 100% accuracy rate. the findings of this study demonstrate the project’s ability to effectively determine the optimal outcomes of simulations.

Somnambulism: Varenicline-Induced Sleep Driving

Background: Varenicline, which is derived from the cytisine compound, is used to assess in smoking cessation. Sleep driving (SD) is often classified as a variant of somnambulism. Although, somnambulism has been reported as a side effect of varenicline, varenicline-induced sleep driving (VISD) has not been reported. Case Report: A 56-year-old man with a history of 35 pack year smoking who presented for smoking cessation counseling. treatment with varenicline was initiated. In the following night, the patient drove to a shopping center and woke up in his car. Varenicline was discontinued. SD has not been reported in the following nights. In a repeated attempt to stop smoking, treatment with varenicline was resumed by the patient. SD reoccurred in the following night. Varenicline was discontinued indefinitely, and SD has not been reported.

Identification of quantitative trait loci(QtLs)controlling yield and yield-related traits in rice was performed in the F_(2) mapping population derived from parental rice genotypes DHMAS and K343.A total of 30 QtLs governing nine different traits were identified using the composite interval mapping(CIM)*** QtLs were mapped for number of tillers per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QtLs),2 and 3;three QtLs for panicle number per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QtLs)and 3;four QtLs for plant height on chromosomes 2,4,5 and 6;one QtL for spikelet density on chromosome 5;four QtLs for spikelet fertility percentage(SFP)on chromosomes 2,3 and 5(2 QtLs);two QtLs for grain length on chromosomes 1 and 8;three QtLs for grain width on chromosomes1,3 and 8;three QtLs for 1000-grain weight(tGW)on chromosomes 1,4 and 8 and six QtLs for yield per plant(YPP)on chromosomes 2(3 QtLs),4,6 and *** of the QtLs were detected on chromosome 2,so further studies on chromosome 2 could help unlock some new chapters of QtL for this cross of rice *** QtLs elucidating high phenotypic variance can be used for marker-assisted selection(MAS)***,the exploitation of information regarding molecular markers tightly linked to QtLs governing these traits will facilitate future crop improvement strategies in rice.

Unfavorable environmental cues severely affect crop productivity resulting in significant economic losses to farmers. In plants, multiple regulatory genes, such as the WRKY transcription factor (tF) family, modulate the expression of defense genes. However, the role of the pineapple WRKY genes is poorly understood. Here, we studied the pineapple WRKY gene, AcWRKY28, by generating AcWRKY28 over-expressing transgenic pineapple plants. Overexpression of AcWRKY28 enhanced the salt stress resistance in transgenic pineapple lines. Comparative transcriptome analysis of transgenic and wild-type pineapple plants showed that “plant-pathogen interaction” pathway genes, including 9calcium-dependent protein kinases (CPKs), were up-regulated in AcWRKY28 over-expressing plants. Furthermore, chromatin immunoprecipitation and yeast one-hybrid assays revealed AcCPK12, AcCPK3, AcCPK8, AcCPK1, and AcCPK15 as direct targets of AcWRKY28. Consistently, the study of AcCPK12 over-expressing Arabidopsis lines showed that AcCPK12 enhances salt, drought, and disease resistance. this study shows that AcWRKY28 plays a crucial role in promoting salt stress resistance by activating the expression of AcCPK genes.

As the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)continues to spread globally,it became evident that the SARS-CoV-2 virus infects multiple organs including the *** clinical studies revealed that patients with COVID-19 infection experience an array of neurological signs ranging in severity from headaches to life-threatening *** the exact mechanism by which the SARS-CoV-2 virus directly impacts the brain is not fully understood,several theories have been suggested including direct and indirect pathways induced by the *** possible theory is the invasion of SARS-CoV-2 to the brain occurs either through the bloodstream or via the nerve endings which is considered to be the direct *** findings are based on studies reporting the presence of viral material in the cerebrospinal fluid and brain ***,the indirect mechanisms,including blood-clotting abnormalities and prolonged activation of the immune system,can result in further tissue and organ damages seen during the course of the *** overview attempts to give a thorough insight into SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus neurological infection and highlights the possible mechanisms leading to the neurological manifestations observed in infected patients.

Evaluation of immunogenicity and reactogenicity of recombinant DNA hepatitis B vaccine produced in India

AIM：（1） to gain information on immune responses to an accelerated schedule of 0, 1, and 2 mo in paramedical staff and BDS students who are at an increased risk of getting hepatitis B infection and come under high risk groups. （2） to assess the efficacy and safety of En/vac- HB in different age groups, using genetically modified yeast strain Pichia pastoris, a new recombinant hepatitis B accine developed and manufactured in India. MEtHODS： A prospective, comparative, and single blinded trial of rapid （0, 1, and 2 mo） hepatitis B immunization schedulewas reported. A total of three hundred and seven （212 females and 95 males） healthy volunteers divided into three age groups （18-29, 30-39, and 40-49） were enrolled after screening for markers of hepatitis B. All the volunteers received 20 mg of the vaccine intramuscularly at 0, 1, and 2 mo. RESULtS： Geometric mean titers were calculated pre and post vaccination. Before immunization the GMt was 0.0124 mIU/mL. One month after the administration of the third dose of recombinant vaccine 296/307 （96.5%） subjects achieved seroprotective levels of anti-HBs. the geometric mean anti-HBs titers achieved after one month of the third dose was 2 560.0 mIU/mL. the geometric mean anti-HBs titer of males was 2 029.0 mIU/mL, while that of the females was 2 759.0 mIU/mL. In the age group of 18-29 years, anti-HBs titer was 3 025.0 mIU/ mL, while that in the age group of 30-39 years was 2 096.0 mlU/mL. In third age group of 40-49 years, anti- HBs titer was 1 592.0 mIU/mL. Hyper-responses （anti-HBs≥100 mIU/mL） were shown in 88.0% （271/307） of subjects. Eleven （3.5%） subjects responded poorly to the vaccine in the age group of 40-49 years. there was only mild pain at the site of injection otherwise there were no other adverse drug reactions （ADRs）. CONCLUSION： this vaccine （Enivac-HB） is safe and efficacious, providing significant protection after the third dose and rapid hepatitis B immunization schedule of 0, 1, and 2 mo can be recommended

Diabetes mellitus(DM)is known to cause reproductive *** men,it has been linked to altered sperm quality and testicular *** stress(OS)plays a pivotal role in the development of DM ***(GSH)is a part of a nonenzymatic antioxidant defense system that protects lipid,protein,and nucleic acids from oxidative ***,the protective effects of exogenous GSH on the male reproductive system have not been comprehensively *** study determined the impact of GSH supplementation in ameliorating the adverse effect of type 1 DM on sperm quality and the seminiferous tubules of diabetic C57BL/6Ntac *** at the doses of 15 mg kg^(-1)and 30 mg kg^(-1)was given intraperitoneally to mice weekly for 6 consecutive *** mice were then weighed,euthanized,and had their reproductive organs *** diabetic(D Group)showed significant impairment of sperm quality and testicular histology compared with the nondiabetic(ND Group).Diameters of the seminiferous lumen in diabetic mice treated with 15 mg kg^(-1) GSH(DGSH15)were decreased compared with the D *** motility was also significantly increased in the DGSH15 *** in testicular morphology might be an early indication of the protective roles played by the exogenous GSH in protecting sperm quality from effects of untreated type 1 DM or diabetic *** investigation using different doses and different routes of GSH is necessary to confirm this suggestion.

Seroepidemiology of toxoplasma infection in blood donors in Jahrom District,Southern Iran

Objective:to identify the anti-toxoplasma antibodies from blood donors who referred to blood transfusion bases of Jahrom County,using ELISA ***:Based on the prevalence and characteristics method,400 serum samples were collected from blood donors referred to Jahrom blood transfusion bases,Southern Iran,during 2010–2011,designed at testing by *** M and Ig G antibodies against toxoplasma gondii were tested using ELISA kits(Dia-Pro)on *** data were analysed by SPSS 19 ***:Review of 400 cases,54 of them were Ig G positive for parasites(13.5%)and 346of those with negative Ig G(86.5%).In Ig M examination,1.75%of them have been positive Ig M(7 cases)and 98.25%of them were Ig M negative(393 cases).By comparing the different group ages,40–50 year age group had the highest prevalence of Ig G positive(17.9%)and the age group of 30–40 years had the highest incidence of Ig M negative(2.5%).Conclusions:Due to the serological infection rate of toxoplasmosis obtained from this study,toxoplasmosis should be considered as a significant transfusion risk factor in Jahrom and also in any region with similar situations.

Outcome of bariatric surgery in patients with unexpected liver cirrhosis: A multicenter study from China

Background and aims Liver cirrhosis is a complex disease that may result in increased morbidity and mortality following bariatric surgery(BS).this study aimed to explore the outcome of BS in patients with unexpected cirrhosis,focusing on postoperative complications and the progression of liver *** A retrospective study of bariatric patients with cirrhosis from four centers in China between 2016 and 2023 was conducted,with follow-up for one year after *** primary outcome was the safety of BS in patients with unexpected cirrhosis,while the secondary outcome was the metabolic efficacy of BS in this group *** A total of 47 patients met the study criteria,including 46 cases of Child-Pugh class A cirrhosis and 1 case of Child-Pugh *** examination confirmed nodular cirrhosis in 21 patients(44.68%),pseudolobule formation in 1 patient(2.13%),lipedema degeneration with inflammatory cell infiltration in 3 patients(6.38%),and chronic hepatitis in 1 patient(2.13%).the average percentage of total weight loss was 29.73±6.53%at one year *** the 30-day postoperative period,the complication rate was 6.38%,which included portal vein thrombosis,gastrointestinal bleeding,and intra-abdominal ***,no cases of liver decompensation or mortality were reported during the follow-up *** remission rates of comorbidities among 41 patients one year after surgery were as follows:dyslipidemia 100%,type 2 diabetes 82.61%,hypertension 84.62%,and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome 85.71%.Conclusions BS can be safely performed in patients with unexpected cirrhosis in the compensated stage of liver disease,with low postoperative morbidity and no mortality observed during one-year follow-up.
