the common walnut(Juglans regia)is one of the most economically important nut trees cultivated *** its importance,no comprehensive evaluation of walnut tree population genetics has been undertaken across the range where it originated,Central *** this study,we investigated the genetic diversity and population structure of 1082 individuals from 46 populations across Central *** found moderate genetic diversity of *** across Central Asia,with 46 populations clustered into three groups with a weak relationship between genetic and geographic *** findings reveal that the western Himalaya might be the core region of common walnut genetic diversity in Central Asia and that,except for two populations in Gongliu Wild Walnut Valley,humans might have introduced walnut populations to Xinjiang,*** observed distribution of the genetic landscape has probably been affected by historical climate fluctuation,breeding system,and prolonged anthropogenic *** propose the conservation of the core genetic diversity resources in the western Himalaya and pay special attention to populations from Gongliu in *** findings enhance our understanding of the genetic variation throughout the distribution range of *** in Central Asia,which will provide a key prerequisite for evidence-based conservation and management.

Dynamic task scheduling modeling in unstructured heterogeneous multiprocessor systems

An algorithm is proposed for scheduling dependent tasks in time-varying heterogeneous multiprocessor systems, in which computational power and links between processors are allowed to change over time. Link contention is considered in the multiprocessor scheduling problem. A linear switching-state space-modeling paradigm is introduced to enable theoretical analysis from a system engineering perspective. theoretical analysis of this model shows its robustness against changes in processing power and link failure. the proposed algorithm uses a fuzzy decision-making procedure to handle changes in the multiprocessor system. the efficiency of the proposed algorithm is illustrated by several random experiments and comparison against a recent benchmark approach. the results show up to 18% average improvement in makespan, especially for larger scale systems.

the design of reliable controllers for wind energy conversion systems(WECSs)requires a dynamic model and accurate parameters of the wind *** this paper,a dynamic model and the parameter measurement and control of a direct-drive variable-speed WECS with a permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG)are *** experimental method is developed for measuring the key parameters of the *** measured parameters are used in the design of the *** generator-side converter is controlled using a vector control scheme that maximizes the power extraction under varying wind speeds.A model predictive controller(MPC)is designed for the grid-side voltage source converter(VSC)to regulate the active and reactive power flows to the power grid by controlling the d-and q-axis currents in the synchronous reference *** MPC predicts the future values of the control variables and takes control actions based on the minimum value of the cost *** comply with the grid code requirement,a modified design approach for an LCL filter is presented and incorporated into the *** design process is simple and incorporates significant filter parameters while avoiding iterative *** comparative analysis of the designed filter with conventional L,LC,and iterative LCL filters demonstrates the effectiveness of the modified design *** proposed wind energy system with MPC and LCL filter is simulated in MAtLAB/Simulink and experimentally implemented in the laboratory using the dSpace digital signal processor(DSP)*** simulation and experimental results validate the efficacy of the designed controllers using the measured parameters and show dynamic and steady-state performance under varying wind speeds.

Resilience-oriented intentional islanding of reconfigurable distribution power systems

the participation of distributed energy resources in the load restoration procedure,known as intentional islanding,can significantly improve the distribution system *** system reconfiguration can effectively alter islanding procedure and thus provide an opportunity to supply more demanded energy and reduce distribution system *** addition,high-impact events such as hurricanes and earthquakes may complicate the procedure of load restoration,due to the disconnection of the distribution system from the upstream grid or concurrent component *** paper presents a two-level method for intentional islanding of a reconfigurable distribution system,considering high-impact *** thefirst level,optimal islands are selected according to the graph model of the distribution *** the second level,an optimal power flow(OPF)problem is solved to meet the operation constraints of the islands by reactive power control and demand side *** proposed problem in the first level is solved by a combination of depth first search and particle swarm optimization *** OPF problem in the second level is solved in DIgSILENt *** proposed method is implemented in the IEEE 69-bus test system,and the results show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Evaluation and management of acute pancreatitis

Acute pancreatitis(AP) is one of the most common gastrointestinal causes for hospi-talization in the United States. In 2015, AP accounted for approximately390000 hospitalizations. the burden of AP is only expected to increase over *** recent advances in medicine, pancreatitis continues to be associated with a substantial morbidity and mortality. the most common cause of AP is gallstones, followed closely by alcohol use. the diagnosis of pancreatitis is established with any two of three following criteria:(1) Abdominal pain consistent with that of AP;(2) Serum amylase and/or lipase greater than three times the upper limit of normal; and(3) Characteristics findings seen in crosssectional abdominal imaging. Multiple criteria and scoring systems have been established for assessing severity of AP. the cornerstones of management include aggressive intravenous hydration, appropriate nutrition and pain *** retrograde cholangiopancreatography and surgery are important aspects in management of acute gallstone pancreatitis. We provide a comprehensive review of evaluation and management of AP.

Genetic polymorphisms of GStM1,GStP1 and GStt1 genes and lung cancer susceptibility in the Bangladeshi population

Objective:to verify possible associations between polymorphisms of glutathione S-transferase Mu(GStM1),glutathione S-transferase θ(GStt1) and glutathione S-transferase Pi(GStP1)genes and susceptibility to lung ***:A total of 106 lung cancer patients and 116 controls were enrolled in a case-control *** GStM1 and GStt1 were analyzed using PCR while GStP1 was analyzed using PCR-restriction fragment length *** of lung cancer was estimated as odds ratio at 95%confidence interval using unconditional logistic regression models adjusting for age,sex,and tobacco ***:GStM1 null and GStt1 null genotypes did not show a significant risk for developing lung cancer.A significandy elevated lung cancer risk was associated with GStP1 heterozygous,mutant and combined heterozygous+mutant variants of *** classified by tobacco consumption status,no association with risk of lung cancer was found in case of tobacco smokers and nonsmokers carrying null and present genotypes of GStM1 and GSttL there is a three-fold(approximately) increase in the risk of lung cancer in case of both heterozygous(AG) and heterozygous+mutant homozygous(AG+GG) genotypes whereas there is an eightfold increase in risk of lung cancer in cases of GG with respect to AA genotype in ***:Carrying the GStM1 and GStt1 null genotype is not a risk factor for lung cancer and GStP1Ile105 Val is associated with elevated risk of lung cancer.

this paper studies a production system where products are produced continuously and whose specification limits are specified for screening inspection. In this paper, we consider dual quality characteristics and different costs associated with each quality characteristic that falls below a lower specification limit or above an upper specification limit. Due to these different costs, the expected total profit will greatly depend on the process parameters, especially a process mean. this paper develops a Markovian-based model for determining the optimum process means with the consideration of dual quality characteristics in a single-stage system. the proposed model is then illustrated through a numerical example and sensitivity analysis is performed to validate the model. the results showed that the optimum process mean for both quality characteristics have a significant effect on the performance of the system. Since the literature survey shows that dealing with multi-quality characteristics is extremely limited, the proposed model, coupled with the Markovian approach, provides a unique contribution to this field.

Global Practical Stabilization of Discrete-time Switched Affine Systems via a General Quadratic Lyapunov Function and a Decentralized Ellipsoid

this paper addresses the problem of global practical stabilization of discrete-time switched affine systems via statedependent switching *** attempts have been made to solve this problem via different types of a common quadratic Lyapunov function and an *** classical results require either the quadratic Lyapunov function or the employed ellipsoid to be of the centralized *** some cases,the ellipsoids are defined dependently as the level sets of a decentralized Lyapunov *** this paper,we extend the existing results by the simultaneous use of a general decentralized Lyapunov function and a decentralized ellipsoid parameterized *** proposed conditions provide less conservative results than existing works in the sense of the ultimate invariant set of attraction *** different approaches are proposed to extract the ultimate invariant set of attraction with a minimum size,i.e.,a purely numerical method and a numerical-analytical *** the former,both invariant and attractiveness conditions are imposed to extract the final set of matrix *** latter is established on a principle that the attractiveness of a set implies its ***,the stability conditions are derived based on only the attractiveness property as a set of matrix inequalities with a smaller *** examples are presented to prove the satisfactory operation of the proposed stabilization methods.

Nonlinear analysis of cable structures using the dynamic relaxation method

the analysis of cable structures is one of the most challenging problems for civil and mechanical *** they have highly nonlinear behavior,it is difficult to find solutions to these *** far,different assumptions and methods have been proposed to solve such *** dynamic relaxation method(DRM)is an explicit procedure for analyzing these types of *** utilize this scheme,investigators have suggested various stiffness matrices for a cable *** this study,the efficiency and suitability of six well-known proposed matrices are assessed using the *** achieve this goal,16 numerical examples and two criteria,namely,the number of iterations and the analysis time,are *** on a comprehensive comparison,the methods are ranked according to the two *** numerical findings clearly reveal the best ***,a variety of benchmark problems are suggested by the authors for future studies of cable structures.
