IoT-based monitoring and data-driven modelling of drip irrigation system for mustard leaf cultivation experiment

The changing dynamics,non-linearity of soil moisture content,as well as other weather and plant variables requires real-time monitoring and accurate predictive model for effective irrigation and crop *** this paper,an improved monitoring and datadriven modelling of the dynamics of parameters affecting the irrigation of mustard leaf plant is *** IoT-based monitoring framework is implemented using ESPresso Lite V2.0 module interfaced with different soil moisture sensors(VH-400),flowmeter(YF-S201)as well as Davis vantage pro 2 weather station to measure soil moisture content,irrigation volume,and computation of the reference evapotranspiration(ETo).The data collected including plant images were transmitted to the Raspberry Pi 3 controller for onward online storage and the data are displayed on the IoT *** combination of both soil moisture and ETo values was used for scheduling a drip irrigated plant grown in a greenhouse for 35 days.A total number of 20,703 experimental data samples are collected from the IoT-based platform was further used for data driven modelling through system identification in *** result shows the development of different predictive models for soil moisture content *** ARX prediction model is found to perform better than the ARMX,BJ and State space model in terms of estimated fit of 91.31%,91.09%,91.08%,and 90.75%***,a robust monitoring framework for irrigation system has been developed,while the performance of the identified ARX model is promising to predict the volumetric soil water content.

Automated Classification of Snow-Covered Solar Panel Surfaces Based on Deep Learning Approaches

Recently,the demand for renewable energy has increased due to its environmental and economic *** panels are the mainstay for dealing with solar energy and converting it into another form of usable *** panels work under suitable climatic conditions that allow the light photons to access the solar cells,as any blocking of sunlight on these cells causes a halt in the panels work and restricts the carry of these ***,the panels are unable to work under these conditions.A layer of snow forms on the solar panels due to snowfall in areas with low ***,it causes an insulating layer on solar panels and the inability to produce electrical *** detection of snow-covered solar panels is crucial,as it allows us the opportunity to remove snow using some heating techniques more efficiently and restore the photovoltaics system to proper *** paper presents five deep learning models,■-16,■-19,ESNET-18,ESNET-50,and ESNET-101,which are used for the recognition and classification of solar panel *** this paper,two different cases were applied;the first case is performed on the original dataset without trying any kind of preprocessing,and the second case is extreme climate conditions and simulated by generating motion ***,the dataset was replicated using the upsampling technique in order to handle the unbalancing *** conducted dataset is divided into three different categories,namely;all_snow,no_snow,and partial *** fivemodels are trained,validated,and tested on this dataset under the same conditions 60%training,20%validation,and testing 20%for both *** accuracy of the models has been compared and verified to distinguish and classify the processed *** accuracy results in the first case showthat the comparedmodels■-16,■-19,ESNET-18,and ESNET-50 give 0.9592,while ESNET-101 gives *** the second case,the models outperformed their counterparts in the first case by evaluating performan

Development and characterization of food packaging bioplastic film from cocoa pod husk cellulose incorporated with sugarcane bagasse fibre

Agricultural wastes,including cocoa pod husk(waste from the chocolate industry)and sugarcane bagasse(waste from the sugar industry),are increasing day by *** development of food packaging biofilms from these two wastes could be beneficial to the environment and ***,this study was conducted to develop biodegradable plastic films by using cocoa pod husk and sugarcane *** and fibre were extracted from cocoa pod husk and sugar-cane bagasse,*** developed bioplastic films were divided into several concentration ratios of cellulose and fibre which are 100꞉0(100%cellulose),75꞉25(cellulose꞉fibre),50꞉50(cel-lulose꞉fibre),25꞉75(cellulose꞉fibre),and 0꞉100(100%fibre).The physicochemical properties for all bioplastic concentration ratios were determined in terms of sensory evaluation,drying time,moisture content,water absorption and water vapor *** the observation and anal-ysis of the physicochemical properties of bioplastic,we found that the most suitable bioplastic film for food packaging goes to the combination of 75%cellulose and 25%fibre bioplastic,as it demonstrated the lowest water absorption percentage and water vapor permeability.

Paravalvular Leakage(PVL)has been recognized as one of the most dangerous complications in relation to Transcathether Aortic Valve Implantation(TAVI)***,data available in the literature about Fluid Structure Interaction(FSI)for this specific problem are relatively *** the present study,the fluid and structure responses of the hemodynamics along the patient aorta model and the aortic wall deformation are studied with the aid of numerical simulation taking into account PVL and 100%TAVI valve *** particular,the aorta without valve(AWoV)is assumed as the normal condition,whereas an aorta with TAVI 26 mm for 100%Geometrical Orifice Area(GOA)is considered as the patient aorta with PVL complication.A 3D patient-specific aorta model is elaborated using the MIMICS *** of the identical TAVI valve of Edward SAPIEN XT 26(Edwards Lifes ciences,Irvine,California)is *** undersized 26 mm TAVI valve with 100%valve opening is selected to mimic the presence of PVL at the aortic *** present research indicates that the existence of PVL can increase the blood velocity,pressure drop and WSS in comparison to normal conditions,thereby paving the way to the development of recirculation flow,thrombus formation,aorta wall collapse,aortic rupture and damage of endothelium.
