Improved prediction of shear wave velocity for clastic sedimentary rocks using hybrid model with core data

Accurate measurement of acoustic velocities of sedimentary rocks is essential for prediction of rock elastic constants and well failure analysis during drilling *** measurement by advanced logging tools such as dipole sonic imager is not always *** older wells,such data are not available in most ***,it is an alternate way to develop a reliable correlation to estimate the shear wave velocity from existing log and/or core *** objective of this research is to investigate the nature of dependency of different reservoir parameters on the shear wave velocity(VS) of clastic sedimentary rocks,and to identify the parameter/variable which shows the highest level of *** the study,data-driven connectionist models are developed using machine learning approach of least square support vector machine(LSSVM).The coupled simulated annealing(CSA) approach is utilized to optimize the tuning and kernel parameters in the model *** performance of the simulation-based model is evaluated using statistical *** is found that the most dependency predictor variable is the compressional wave velocity,followed by the rock porosity,bulk density and shale volume in turn.A new correlation is developed to estimate VS,which captures the most influential parameters of sedimentary *** new correlation is verified and compared with existing models using measured data of sandstone,and it exhibits a minimal error and high correlation coefficient(R^(2)-0.96).The hybridized LSSVM-CSA connectionist model development strategy can be applied for further analysis to predict rock mechanical ***,the improved correlation of VS can be adopted to estimate rock elastic constants and conduct wellbore failure analysis for safe drilling and field development decisions,reducing the exploration costs.

The behavior of HfB_2 under neutron irradiation

Due to the interesting properties of hafnium diboride(HfB_2) as a ceramic, it has drawn considerabl attention from several researchers. To understand th radiation properties of HfB_2 that may be used in the nuclea industry, the interaction of this composite under neutro irradiation was studied. It is obvious that, because HfB_2 ha Boron, this composite has the potential to absorb neutron particularly in the range of thermal energy. The ^(10)B(n, a7 Li interaction is dominant among other interactions tha produce alpha particles. The results revealed that alph particles have a high fluctuation diagram following a saw tooth spectrum for thermal neutron energy, which has to b carefully analyzed. If HfB_2 is intended to be used in fusio facilities, for example in fusion reactors, its interactio with high neutrons(14 Me V) should be studied. Th results of this case showed that, in the wide range of alph energy, the amount of alpha particles is almost constant, s this continuum spectrum is almost flat and there is just small peak at 2.31 Me V that belongs to the very famou interaction [^(10)B(n, a)~7Li].

The Aghajari (Upper Fars) Formation in the Folded Zagros Zone, Iran: Insights to Identify Facies, Architectural Elements, Fluvial Systems, Petrography and Provenance

The Aghajari Formation, called also the Upper Fars, develops throughout the Folded Zagros Zone and its thickness in the type section in southwest of Iran is 2966 meters. To analyze the sedimentary basin of this Formation, lithofacies, architectural elements and petrofacies of the related deposits in a section in southeast of Sarvestan in Fars Province of Iran with a thickness of 2221.45 meters were examined. Microscopically studying thin sections, the petrography and the occurrence of the deposits were determined. In this section, 16 lithofacies, 10 architectural elements and 2 sandstone petrofacies were identified. The lithofacies were divided into two major and minor groups, in which the major lithofacies consist of coarse-grained （Gh, Gp, Gt and Gm）, medium-grained （Sh, Sp, St, Sl, Sm, Sr and Ss and fine-grained ones （Fm, Fl and Fsm）, and the minor lithofacies were evaporative and mixed silisiclastic-carbonate. The identified architectural elements are CH, SB, GB, LA, DA, CR, CS, LV, LS, CH （FF） and FF. By combining evidences from facies analysis and architectural elements together, the Aghajari Formation was divided into three parts in which the related sedimentation environments, from top to bottom, are gravel, gravel-sand and fine-grained meandering river respectively. There have also been playas and shoreface in the lower part. Based on petrography, the sandstones of this formation were classified into two groups： litharenite and sublitharenite. The origin of these deposits （sandstones） was appointed to the recycled orogeny and the source of quartz is low and medium to high metamorphic rank. Using the field evidences, the paleocurrent direction was achieved indicating the direction of the paleocurrent from northwest to southeast at the time of deposition. It is hoped that these data can be used in the interpretation of the basin and reconstruction of the paleogeography in the local and regional scales.

Sublethal effects of imidacloprid and pymetrozine on population growth parameters of cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae on rapeseed, Brassica napus L.

Efficiency of imidacloprid and pymetrozine on population growth parameters of cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae L. （Homoptera： Aphididae） was determined using demographic toxicology by leaf dip method. At first, bioassay tests were performed. The LC50 value and confidence limit for imidacloprid and pymetrozine were 1.61 × 10^-5 mol/L （0.74 × 10^-5-2.66 × 10^-5） and 2.14 × 10^-4 mol/L （1.24 × 10^-4-3.40 × 10^-4）, respectively. To evaluate the sublethal effect of two insecticides on population growth parameters of cabbage aphid, LC30 concentrations of imidacloprid and pymetrozine were used at 5 mol/L and 30 mol/L. The experiments were carried out in a incubator at 20±1℃, 60% ± 5% RH and 16：8 （L：D） photoperiod on canola seedlings, Brassica napus L. var. ＇PF＇. Net fecundity rate decreased in both insecticide-treated populations. Intrinsic rates of increase （rm） were lower in imidacloprid and pymetrozine treatments than in controls. Intrinsic birth rates also decreased in treated populations. There was a relative increase in intrinsic death rates of treated populations. The mean generation times and doubling time were also lower in populations treated with insecticides than in controls. There was a considerable reduction in the average numbers of nymphs reproduced per female as compared with the control. The average longevity of female adults in the control was significantly different from those treated with imidacloprid and pymetrozine. However, there was no significant differences in aphid life-table parameters between the two insecticide-treated populations （P 〉 0.01）.

Prediction of rotary drilling penetration rate in iron ore oxides using rock engineering system

Prediction of the drilling penetration rate is one of the important parameters in mining operations. This parameter has a direct impact on the mine planning and cost of mining operations, Generally, effective parameters on the penetration rate is divided into two classes： rock mass properties and specifications of the machine, The chemical components of intact rock have a direct effect in determining rock mechan- ical properties, Theses parameters usually have not been investigated in any research on the rock drill- ability, In this study, physical and mechanical properties of iron ore were studied based on the amount of magnetite percent, According to the results of the tests, the effective parameters on the pen- etration rate of the rotary drilling machines were divided into three classes： specifications of the machi- nes, rock mass properties and chemical component of intact rock, Then, the rock drillahility was studied using rock engineering systems, The results showed that feed, rotation, rock mass index and iron oxide percent have important effect on penetration rate, Then a quadratic equation with 0,896 determination coefficient has been obtained, Also, the results showed that chemical components can he described as new parameters in rotary drill penetration rate,

A Novel Image Categorization Strategy Based on Salp Swarm Algorithm to Enhance Efficiency of MRI Images

The main target of this paper is presentation of an efficient method for MRI images classification so that it can be used to diagnose patients and *** classification is one of the prominent subset topics of machine learning and data mining that the most important image technique is the auto-categorization of *** images with high resolution and appropriate accuracy allow physicians to decide on the diagnosis of various diseases and treat *** auto categorization of MRI images toward diagnosing brain diseases has been being used to accurately diagnose hospitals,clinics,physicians and medical research *** this paper,an effective method is proposed for categorizing MRI images,which emphasizes the classification *** this method,images have been firstly collected and tagged,and then the discrete wavelet transform method has been implemented to extract the relevant *** the ready features in a matrix will be subsequently held,and PCA method has been applied to reduce the features ***,a new model using support vector machine classifier with radial basis function kernel ***+RBF has been *** SVM Algorithm must bimanually initialized,while,these values have been automatically entered into the SVM classifier by Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA):Due to high performance of SSA in fast and accurate solution of nonlinear problem as compared to other optimization algorithms,it has been applied to optimally solve the designed ***,after applying the optimal parameters and SVM classification training,the test data has been utilized and *** results have transparently suggested the effectiveness of the proposed method in the Accuracy criteria with 0.9833,the Sensitivity with 1,Specificity with 0.9818 and Error with 0.0167 in best iteration as compared to the conventional SVM method.

Investigation of material composition,design,and performance of open-graded asphalt mixtures for semi-flexible pavement:A comprehensive experimental study

The primary goal of this study is the design and construction of semi-flexible pavement(SFP)mixture in accordance with the engineering and mechanical *** study involves the use of a range of gradation curves,air void contents,cellulose and synthesized fibers,and neat and modified asphalt binders to prepare the open-graded asphalt(OGA)*** analyze the characteristics of these mixtures,a variety of test,namely binder drainage,semi-circular bending(SCB),Cantabro,wheel tracking,indirect tensile strength(ITS),and permeability tests were ***,to analyze the prepared grouting material,flexural strength,compressive strength,and fluidity tests were *** the final stage,SFP was compared to HMA in terms of engineering characteristics and *** to the results,SFP was more resistant to skid,rutting,fire,and moisture damage,while HMA had a better performance in fracture tests,including SCB *** to the results of the mechanical performance tests conducted on OGA mixtures,the highest and lowest values for air void content to achieve the highest mechanical performance level were 30%-35%and 25%,***,based on the laboratory results,it was determined that the required void ratio for constructing OGA mixtures was 24%-26%based on the bitumen type and fibers amount in the ***,SFP mixture can be regarded as a viable alternative to common pavements thanks to its high resistance to rutting and moisture damage,long freezing-thawing fatigue life,and adequate fire and skid resistance.

Evaluation of attraction terms in equations of state on the prediction of solubility of some biomolecules in supercritical carbon dioxide

In the present work, effect of the attraction terms of four recently modified Peng-Robinson （MPR） equations of state on the prediction of solubility of caffeine, cholesterol, uracil and erythromycin was studied. The attraction terms of two of these equations are linear relative to the acentric factor and for the other two are exponential. It is found that the later show less deviation. Also interaction parameters for the studied systems are obtained and the percentage of average absolute relative deviation （%AARD） in each calculation is displayed.

ECO-FRIENDLY FAST SYNTHESIS AND THERMAL DEGRADATION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE POLYAMIDES UNDER MICROWAVE ACCELERATING CONDITIONS

An optically active bulky aromatic diacid chiral monomer, （2S）-4-[（4-methyl-2-phthalimidylpentanoylamino）benzoylamino]isophthalic acid （1）, containing a rigid phthalimide and flexible L-leucine pendent group was synthesized in five steps. A fast and clean method for direct polyamidation reaction of monomer 1 with various aromatic diamines under microwave irradiation and conventional heating was performed. The polymerization reactions provided optically active polyamides with high yields and inherent viscosities in the range of 0.36-0.74 dL/g. Their thermal properties were evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） and differential scanning calorimetry. TGA thermograms show that the polymers are thermally stable, 10% weight loss temperatures are in excess of 385℃, and char yields at 800℃ are higher than 56%. The data obtained from TGA were used to study the kinetics of thermal decomposition of the resulting polymers. The interpretation of kinetic parameters （E, AH, AS and AG） of thermal decomposition stages was evaluated using Coats and Redfern equation.

Catalytic process modeling and sensitivity analysis of alkylation of benzene with ethanol over MIL-101(Fe) and MIL-88(Fe)

A solvothermal method was used to synthesize MIL-101(Fe)and MIL-88(Fe),which were used for alkylation of *** synthesized catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,field emission scanning electron microscope,dynamic light scattering,and BET ***-organic frameworks(MOFs)were modeled to investigate the catalytic performance and existence of mass transfer *** effectiveness factors revealed absence of internal a nd external mass *** analysis revealed best operating conditions over MIL-101 at 120℃ and 5 bar and over MIL-88 at 142℃ and 9 bar.
