Growth-promoting bacteria(GPB)have shown promising effects on serving plants against environmental constraints such as ***,simultaneous effects of different GPB have less been considered for arid land plants and under field *** investigated the effects of single and combined application of GPB,including free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria(NFB),phosphate solubilizing bacteria(PSB),potassium solubilizing bacteria(KSB),a combination of NFB,PSB,and KSB(NPK),and control,at three drought stress *** order to better understand the interactions between drought and GPB,we measured the morphological,biochemical,and physiological plant *** target plant was salt tree(Halimodendron Halodendron(Pall.)Voss),a legume shrub native to arid lands of Central and West *** biofertilizer treatments enhanced the growth,physiology,and biochemistry of salt tree seedlings,and there were significant differences among the *** and PSB treatments increased photosynthetic pigments,but KSB treatment was more efficient in transpiration rate and stomatal regulation and increased the soluble *** treatment had the highest effect on root traits,such as taproot length,root volume,cumulative root length,and the ratio of root to *** treatment enhanced root diameter and induced biomass translocation between root ***,only the application of mixed biofertilizer(i.e.,NPK treatment)was the most significant treatment to improve all plant morphological and physiological characteristics of salt tree under drought ***,our results provided improvement of some specific plant traits simultaneous with application of three biofertilizers to increase growth and establishment of salt tree seedlings in the degraded arid lands.

Heat Transfer and Energy Analysis of a Pusher Type Reheating Furnace Using Oxygen Enhanced Air for Combustion

Oxy-fuel firing is more energy efficient and environmental friendly than conventional air-fuel firing and its application to reheating furnaces has begun since 1990s. A computational method was presented to predict the steady heat transfer to the billets and temperature distribution in a continuous pusher type reheating furnace in which combustion air was enhanced by oxygen. Radiation heat flux calculated from the radiation heat exchange within the furnace was modeled using the FVM considering the effects of furnace walls and billets. Energy consumption per ton of steel, production rate and thermal efficiency of furnace, and trend of NOx emission in various levels of oxygen enrichment were investigated by comparing with baseline furnace （21% of O2 in air）. The results showed that the best range of oxygen enrichments was between 21% and 45% by volume, as the higher slope of flame temperature and production increase occur in this range. The reduction of energy consumption can be obtained up to 18% per ton of steel for oxygen enrichment of 60 % by volume.

The effects of operating parameters on oxidative coupling of methane （OCM） over Na-W-Mn/SiO2 catalyst have been studied at elevated pressures of 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 MPa under low gaseous hourly space velocity （GHSV） and low temperature conditions. Experimental results show that when the operating pressure is increased, C2＋ yield slightly decreases, while the maximum ratio of ethylene to ethane remains unchanged. Moreover, it has been found empirically that increase of pressure does not affect the catalyst behavior permanently, the catalyst recovers its original low pressure performance without hysteresis behavior by reducing the pressure. Under the investigated conditions, when oxygen is completely consumed, the increase of GHSV leads to improvement in C2 selectivity, while C3＋ and COx selectivities decrease slightly. The C2＋ selectivity increases by increase of nitrogen diluent in the feed, but the C3＋ hydrocarbons selectivities decrease with increase of nitrogen since it is possible that further dilution at high pressure may reduce the probability of collision between CH3 and C2＋ hydrocarbons. During the stability test at high pressure, the catalyst performance remains unchanged throughout the 20 h running. The fresh and used catalysts were characterized using XRD, SEM and N2 adsorption-desorption methods. It was found that the phase transformation of the support from α-cristobalite to tridymite and quartz does not have obvious effect on catalyst performance at high pressure.

Software product line （SPL） is an approach used to develop a range of software products with a high degree of similarity. In this approach, a feature model is usually used to keep track of similarities and differences. Over time, as modifications are made to the SPL, inconsistencies with the feature model could arise. The first approach to dealing with these inconsistencies is refactoring. Refactoring consists of small steps which, when accumulated, may lead to large-scale changes in the SPL, resulting in features being added to or eliminated from the SPL. In this paper, we propose a framework for refactoring SPLs, which helps keep SPLs consistent with the feature model. After some introductory remarks, we describe a formal model for representing the feature model. We express various refactoring patterns applicable to the feature model and the SPL formally, and then introduce an algorithm for finding them in the SPL. In the end, we use a real-world case study of an SPL to illustrate the applicability of the framework introduced in the paper.

Improving the strength of bone cement is one of the critical goals in cement designing to maintain their integrity and stabilize connection between the cement and their surrounding tissue during the time that the cement has been replaced by matured bone *** this aim,the authors decided to evaluate setting behavior and compressive strength of Magnesium Phosphate Cement(MPC)by adding carboxylated Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes(c-SWCNTs)and assess the biocompatibility of the composite *** containing 0 wt%to 0.5 wt% of c-SWCNTs at the Powder to Liquid Ratio(PLR)of 1 g·mL^-1 to 2 g·mL^-1 were *** c-SWCNTs to MPC postponed the setting time of the cement at the beginning of the cementation process and preserved the reaction with a high rate for a longer *** addition,the compressive strength of MPC was enhanced to 28 MPa by adding 0.2 wt%c-SWCNTs because of producing cement with compact and uniform *** addition,cell behavior on MPC with/without c-SWCNTs indicated no cytotoxic effect alongside a suitable adhesion and proliferation of them.

Mesoscale eddies and their dispersive environmental impacts in the Persian Gulf

As the mesoscale eddies in oceans and semi-enclosed seas are significant in horizontal dispersion of pollutants,we investigate the seasonal variations of these eddies in the Persian Gulf(PG)that are usually generated due to seasonal winds and baroclinic *** sea surface height(SSH)data from 2010 to 2014 of AVISO are used to identify and track eddies,using the SSH-based *** seasonal horizontal dispersion coefficients are estimated for the PG,using the properties of *** results show an annual mean of 78 eddies with a minimum lifetime of one *** of the eddies are predominantly cyclonic(59.1%)and have longer lifetimes and higher diffusion coefficients than the anti-cyclonic *** eddy activity is higher in warm seasons,compared to that of cold *** locations with high eddy diffusion coefficients are high-risk areas by using maps of horizontal eddy diffusion coefficients,perilous times and locations of the release of pollutants are specified to be within the longitude from 51.38°E to 55.28°*** mentioned areas are located from the Strait of Hormuz towards the northeast of the PG,closer to Iranian ***,July can be considered as the most dangerous time of pollution release.

Feedforward Neural Network(FNN)is one of the most popular neural network models that is utilized to solve a wide range of nonlinear and complex *** models such as stochastic gradient descent have been developed to train ***,they mainly suffer from falling into local optima leading to reduce the accuracy of ***,the convergence speed of training process depends on the initial values of weights and biases in ***,these values are randomly determined by most of the training *** deal with these issues,in this paper,we develop a novel evolutionary algorithm by modifying the original version of Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA).To this end,a nonlinear function is introduced to improve the exploration and exploitation phases in the search process of ***,the modified WOA is applied to automatically obtain the initial values of weights and biases in FNN leading to reduce the probability of falling into local *** addition,the FNN model trained by the modified WOA is used to develop a classification approach for medical diagnosis *** medical diagnosis datasets are utilized to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed ***,four evaluation metrics including accuracy,AUC,specificity,and sensitivity are used in the experiments to compare the performance of classification *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is better than other competing classification models due to achieving higher values of accuracy,AUC,specificity,and sensitivity metrics for the used datasets.

We extended an improved version of the discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) algorithm proposed by Liao et al.(2007) to solve the dynamic facility layout problem (DFLP). A computational study was performed with the existing heuristic algorithms, including the dynamic programming (DP), genetic algorithm (GA), simulated annealing (SA), hybrid ant system (HAS), hybrid simulated annealing (SA-EG), hybrid genetic algorithms (NLGA and CONGA). The proposed DPSO algorithm, SA, HAS, GA, DP, SA-EG, NLGA, and CONGA obtained the best solutions for 33, 24, 20, 10, 12, 20, 5, and 2 of the 48 problems from (Balakrishnan and Cheng, 2000), respectively. These results show that the DPSO is very effective in dealing with the DFLP. The extended DPSO also has very good computational efficiency when the problem size increases.

So many potential risks can be identifed for application of trenchless technology especially using microtunneling *** changes in ground conditions,such as encountering boulders,tree roots,ground water and man-made structures such as old foundations are the principal geotechnical risks,which affect the selection of an appropriate microtunnel boring *** the other hand,the performance of each microtunneling technique will differ while encountering such ***,predicting the potential hazards provides a better safety and risk management *** this study,a couple of potentially hazardous situation,which are commonly associated with ground conditions,were identifed and investigated.A decision tree aid methodology was proposed based on geotechnical risk assessment for selection of proper microtunneling *** on the approach the most appropriate microtunneling technique has the minimum risk level either before or after hazards mitigation *** order to check the effciency of the approach in practice,selection of microtunnel boring machine for Hamadan sewerage pipeline project was ***,an earth pressure balance(EPB)MTBM was selected for the project.
