Objective:To prepare and evaluate a glycerol-preserved antigen from an Iranian strain of Leishmania infantum(L infantum) for use in glycerol-preserved direct agglutination tests (GP-DAT) as an alternative to freeze dried direct agglutination teals(FD-DAT) that use freezedried ***:Glycerol-preserved DAT antigen was prepared and stored at different *** tested antigen stored at 4℃,22-37℃and 50℃over a period of 365 days. Seven hundred twenty-nine serum samples were collected from different geographical zones of Iran from 2007-2009,and 80 of these samples were pooled to produce *** pooled serum contained 10 *** positive and negative pooled sera were separately tested for anti-L. infantum antibodies with GP-DAT,FD-DAT and formaldehyde-fixed direct agglutination test (FF-DAT) antigens;tests were performed on both human and dog sera over a period of 12 months. Results:There was strong agreement between the results obtained using GP-DAT and FDDAT antigens stored at 22-37℃for 12 months for both human(100%) and dog(100%) pooled *** direct agglutination test results were highly reproducible(weighted kappa:GP=0.833, FD=0.979 and FF=0.917).Conclusions:Because GP-DAT antigen is highly stable over a range of temperatures and is easy to transport in the field,this type of antigen may be particularly useful in areas with endemic visceral leishmaniasis.

AIM: To study the clinical and laboratory characteristics of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), and compare them with International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group (IAHG) criteria. METHODS: Sixty consecutive patients with AIH attended the University Clinic at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Iran for a 12mo period and were assessed in a case series study. Serological and biochemical evaluations were carried out in all patients. Autoantibodies, such as antinuclear antibody (ANA), anti-smooth muscle antibody (ASMA), anti-liver-kidney microsomal antibody (ALKM-1) type 1, and perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (P-ANCA) were evaluated in these patients. A liver biopsy was performed after diagnosis of the disease. Patients were evaluated in terms of their signs and symptoms, and laboratory results and the degree to which they corresponded with the diagnostic criteria of IAHG. In this study, both a comprehensive diagnostic scoring system and a simplified diagnostic scoring system were employed for ***: Sixty patients, 2-0 male, 40 female, mean age 39.45 ± 17.50 years, participated in the study. Treatment began immediately after enrolment into the study. The percent distribution of the study population into definite and probable did not change after the treatment. The most common symptoms in descending order were fatigue (100%), icter (66.7%), abdominal discomfort (33.3%), abdominal distension (2-8.3%), dark urine (2-3.3%), edema (2-3.3%), hematemesis (2-0.0%), pruritus (2-0.0%), melena (11.7%) and pale stool (10.0%). At the physical examination, splenomegaly, ascites, hepatomegaly, epigastric tenderness and an abdominal mass were found in 50.0%, 16.7%, 13.3%, 5.0% and 3.3% of patients, respectively. Hypergammaglobulinemia was detected in 95.0% of cases. ALKM-1, P-ANCA, ANA and ASMA were positive in 71.4%, 66.7%, 42-.4% and 19.4% of cases, respectively. Rapid high-temperature synthesis of SAPO-34 nanoparticles

Decreasing particle size results in larger increase of external surface area and shorter diffusion path, both reducing mass and heat transfer resistances in catalysis and sorption. A rapid high-temperature hydrothermal synthesis method was developed to synthesize uniform nanoparticles of SAPO-34 zeolite with high crystallinity. To investigate the effects of temperature and synthesis time on purity and crys- tallinity of the final products, the crystallization temperature was increased from 468 to 673 K while the synthesis time was decreased from 24h to 45 rain. The products were characterized by XRD and SEM techniques. It was found that high temperature and short synthesis time reduce the particle size and change the morphology of the SAPO-34 final product.

Nanosized MCM-41-SO3H based on ordered mesoporous silica material with a covalent sulfonic acid group was synthesized and used as acid catalyst for the new, simple, convenient and green synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted and 1,2,4,5-tetra-substituted imidazoles. Also some of synthesis products are new. Echo-friendly protocol, short reaction times, easy and quick isolation of the products and excellent yields are the main advantages of this procedure.

In this study,Al matrix nanocomposites containing 1,2 and 4 wt% nano-boron nitride were fabricated by mechanical milling and hot *** mechanical properties of all extruded samples were ***,the morphology and microstructure of the milled composite powders were characterized using two types of electron *** results showed that a high fraction of the boron nitride nanoparticles dissolved and formed a solid solution in Al matrix during the milling *** the process of solid solution formation,the work hardening rate of the composite powders *** led to a morphological change in the composite powders and resulted in equiaxed *** powder particle size also decreased after the milling *** increasing boron nitride content within a range of 0--4 wt% in the hot extruded samples,tensile stress increased from 212 to 333 *** hardness of the nanocomposite samples including 1,2 and 4 wt% boron nitride improved approximately 55,70 and 90% in comparison with pure Al,respectively.

With the advancement of technology,gas shales have become one of the most prominent energy sources all over the ***,estimating the amount of adsorbed gas in shale resources is necessary for the technical and economic foresight of the production *** paper presents a novel machine learning method called grey wolf optimizer support vector machine(GWO-SVM)to predict adsorbed *** this purpose,a data set containing temperature,pressure,total organic carbon(TOC),and humidity has been collected from several sources,and the GWO-SVM model was created based on *** results show that this model has R-squared and root mean square error equal to 0.982 and 0.08,***,the results ensure that the proposed model gives an excellent prediction of the amount of adsorbed gas compared to previously proposed ***,according to the sensitivity analysis,among the input parameters,humidity has the highest effect on gas adsorption.

Several different pharmacological effects have been described for Nigella sativa(Siah-Daneh) ,including an anti-inflammatory *** the present study,the effect of the extract of *** on lung pathology and blood interleukin-4(IL-4) and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) of sensitized guinea pigs was *** groups(n=8 for each group) of guinea pigs sensitized to ovalbumin(OA) were given drinking water alone,and drinking water containing low and high concentrations of the plant extract,*** animals of the control group(n=8) were treated with saline instead of OA and were given drinking *** pathological changes of the lung,including infiltration of eosinophils and lymphocytes,local epithelial necrosis,the presence of oedema,thickening of the basement membrane,smooth muscle layer hypertrophy,mucosal secretion,and the presence of mucosal plug,and blood IL-4 and IFN-γof sensi-tized guinea pigs were *** lungs of the sensitized group showed significant pathological changes(P<0.001) .Blood IL-4 and IFN-γwere increased in sensitized animals compared to the controls(P<0.01 and P<0.001,respectively) .Treatment of sensitized animals with the extract led to a significant decrease in pathological changes of the lung(P<0.01 to P<0.001) ,except for the oedema in the sensitized group treated with low concentration of the extract,but an increased IFN-γ.These results confirm a preventive effect of *** extract on lung inflammation of sensitized guinea pigs.
