A novel aromatic diamine,2-（5-（3,5-diaminophenyl）-l,3,4-oxadiazole-2-yl）pyridine（POBD）,containing a pyridine ring and a 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety,was *** was used in a polycondensation with various aromatic and aliphatic diacid chlorides to generate a series of new aromatic polyamides with pendant 1,3,4-oxadiazole *** prepared polyamides were characterized by IR,elemental analysis and through the synthesis of model *** properties of the synthesized polyamides have been studied by DSC,TGA and inherent viscosity measurements. Relatively high inherent viscosity values（0.76-1.62 dL/g,in 0.125%H_2SO_4 at 25℃） were observed for these compounds. Number average molecular weight（M_n） of the polymers was measured by vapor phase osmometry（VPO）.The introduction of bulky side chains in the structure of aromatic polyamides led to increased solubility of these polymers in common polar and aprotic solvents,such as DMF,DMSO,NMP and DMAc,which allowed thin films to be cast from polymer solutions. The highest molecular weight（M_n = 51190） was observed for polymer（DC）,which was prepared from pyridine-2,6-dichlorocarbonyl.

A wavelet-based power management system is proposed in this paper with a combination of the battery and ultracapacitor(UC)hybrid energy storage system(HESS).The wavelet filter serves as a frequency-based filter for distributing the power between the battery and *** order to determine the optimal level of wavelet decomposition as well as the optimal activation power of the wavelet controller,an optimization procedure is *** proposed frequency-based power management system moderates the usage of battery current,consequently improving its *** with the conventional threshold-based power management systems,the proposed system has the advantage of enhanced battery and UC power management.A LiFePO4 battery is considered and its life loss is *** a case study,an electric motorcycle is evaluated in the federal test procedure(FTP)driving *** with a conventional energy storage system(ESS)and a state of available power(SoP)management systems,the results show an improvement for the battery lifetime by 115%and 3%,*** number of battery replacements is increased,and the energy recovery is *** 10-year overall costs of the proposed HESS strategy using wavelet are1500 dollars lower,compared with the ESS.

A rapid method for the extraction and monitoring of nanogram level of Pbz＋ and Cuz＋ ions using uniform silanized mesopor （SBA-15） functionalized with aminobenzenesulfonamide groups and flame atomic absorption spectrometry （FAAS） is presented. Aminobenzenesulfonamide functionalized SBA-15 was synthesized according to procedure in the literature and the presence of organic groups in the silica framework was demonstrated by FT-IR spectra. The functionalized product showed the BET surface area 110 mZ/g and pore diameter 5. l nm, based on adsorption-desorption of N2 at 77 K. The effect of several variables such as （amount of adsorbent, stirring time, pH and presence of other ions in the medium） has been studied. Lead and copper were completely extracted at pH greater than 3 after stirring for 10 min. The maximum capacity of the adsorbent was found to be 191.3 ＋ 1.4 and 155.0 ＋ 1.0 ~xg of lead and copper ions/mg functionalized SBA-15, respectively. The preconcentration factor of the method was found to be 200. The detection limit of the technique was 3.4 and 0.4 ng/mL for Pb2＋ and Cuz＋, respectively. The applications of this methodology for real samples were examined by various water type, black tea and pepper samples.

Rapid sequence induction(RSI) in trauma patients: Insights from healthcare providers

BACKGROUND: We aimed to describe the current practice of emergency physicians and anaesthesiologists in the selection of drugs for rapid-sequence induction(RSI) among trauma ***: A prospective survey audit was conducted based on a self-administered questionnaire among two intubating specialties. The preferred type and dose of hypnotics, opioids, and muscle relaxants used for RSI in trauma patients were sought in the questionnaire. Data were compared for the use of induction agent, opioid use and muscle relaxant among stable and unstable trauma patients by the intubating ***: A total of 102 participants were included; 47 were anaesthetists and 55 were emergency physicians. Propofol(74.5%) and Etomidate(50.0%) were the most frequently used induction agents. Significantly higher proportion of anesthesiologist used Propofol whereas, Etomidate was commonly used by emergency physicians in stable patients(P=0.001). Emergency physicians preferred Etomidate(63.6%) and Ketamine(20.0%) in unstable patients. The two groups were comparable for opioid use for stable patients. In unstable patients, use of opioid differed significantly by intubating specialties. The relation between rocuronium and suxamethonium use did change among the anaesthetists. Emergency physicians used more suxamethonium(55.6% vs. 27.7%, P=0.01) in stable as well as unstable(43.4 % vs. 27.7%, P=0.08) ***: There is variability in the use of drugs for RSI in trauma patients amongst emergency physicians and anaesthesiologists. There is a need to develop an RSI protocol using standardized types and dose of these agents to deliver an effective airway management for trauma patients.

Growth and yield of rice as affected by transplanting dates and seedlings per hill under high temperature of Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan

Studies were initiated for two consecutive years to find out the effect of time of transplanting and seedlings hill^-l on the productivity of rice in Dera Ismail Khan district of North West Frontier Province （NWFP）, Pakistan. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with split plot arrangements. Main plots consisted of four transplanting dates viz. 20th and 27th of June and 4th and 1 lth of July while sub-plots contained 1, 2, 3 or 4 seedlings hill^-1. Among transplanting dates, June 20th planted crop gave highest paddy yield and net return with I seedling hill^-1. It explains that the use of more seedlings hill^-1 not only adds to cost but is also a mere wastage of natural resources. Based on research findings, we conclude that the use of I seedling hill^-1 is most appropriate for timely sowing otherwise 4 seedlings hill^-1 should be used to compensate for the yield gap in late transplanted rice.

As wind energy is becoming one of the fastestgrowing renewable energy resources,controlling large-scale wind turbines remains a challenging task due to its system model nonlinearities and high external *** main goal of the current work is to propose an intelligent control of the wind turbine system without the need for model *** this purpose,a novel model-independent nonsingular terminal slidingmode control(MINTSMC)using the basic principles of the ultralocal model(ULM)and combined with the single input interval type-2 fuzzy logic control(SIT2-FLC)is developed for non-linear wind turbine pitch angle *** the suggested control framework,the MINTSMC scheme is designed to regulate the wind turbine speed rotor,and a sliding-mode(SM)observer is adopted to estimate the unknown phenomena of the *** auxiliary SIT2-FLC is added in the model-independent control structure to improve the rotor speed regulation and compensate for the SM observation estimation *** examinations and comparative analyses were made using a real-time softwarein-the-loop(RT-SiL)based on the dSPACE 1202 board to appraise the efficiency and applicability of the suggested modelindependent scheme in a real-time testbed.
