Voltammetric determination of venlafaxine as an antidepressant drug employing Gd_2O_3 nanoparticles graphite screen printed electrode

Graphite screen printed electrode modified with Gd_2 O_3 nanoparticles(Gd_2 O_3/SPE) was developed for the determination of venlafaxine(VF). The Gd_2 O_3 nanoparticles were thoroughly characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analyses. To study the electrochemical behaviour of venlafaxine cyclic voltammetry(CV), chronoamperometry(CHA)and differential pulse voltammetry(DPV) were employed. These studies reveal that the oxidation of venlafaxine is facilitated at Gd_2 O_3/SPE. After optimization of analytical conditions, analysis of venlafaxine using the modified electrode in 0.1 mol/L PBS(pH 7.0) demonstrates that the peak currents corresponding to venlafaxine vary linearly with its concentration in the range of 5.0 ×10^(-6)-9.0 × 10^(-4) mol/L. The detection limit(S/N = 3) of 2.1 × 10^(-7) mol/L is obtained for venlafaxine using DPV. The prepared modified electrode benefits from advantages such as simple preparation method, high sensitivity and low detection ***, the evaluation of practical applicability of this proposed method is successful in the identification of venlafaxine in pharmaceutical formulations, urine and water samples.

Application of graphite screen printed electrode modified with dysprosium tungstate nanoparticles in voltammetric determination of epinephrine in the presence of acetylcholine

The current work focuses on the development of a sensitive and selective electrochemical device based on a graphite screen printed electrode modified with Dy2（WO4）3 nanoparticles（DWO/SPE） for the analysis of epinephrine in samples also containing acetylcholine. The study proves that the sensor has excellent electron-mediating behavior in the oxidation of epinephrine in a 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffer solution（PBS）（pH 7.0）. The application of the DWO/SPE in differential pulse voltammetry（DPV） is found to lead to distinct response for the oxidation of epinephrine and acetylcholine, with the potentials of the epinephrine and acetylcholine peaks（△Ep） to be 550 mV apart. The detection limits of the method for epinephrine and acetylcholine are 0.5 and 0.7 μmol/L（S/N = 3） and the responses are found to be linear in the concentration ranges of 1.0-900.0 μmol/L and 1.0-1200.0 μmol/L in a PBS buffer（pH = 7.0）respectively. The modified electrode was used for the detection of epinephrine and acetylcholine in real samples and found to produce satisfactory results. These results can be a proof that Dy2（WO4）3 nanoparticles can find promising applications in electrochemical sensors to be used for the analysis of（bio）chemical species.

The current article presents conceptual,preliminary and detailed aero-thermal redesign of a typical high pressure turbine nozzle guide *** targets are lower coolant consumption,reduced manufacturing costs and improved *** goals are sought by 25%reduction in vane count number and lower number of airfoils per *** challenges such as higher airfoil loading,associate aerodynamic losses and higher thermal loads are *** order to maximize coolant flow reduction and avoid higher aerodynamic losses,airfoil Mach distribution is carefully *** has been an effort to limit design changes so that the proven design features of the original vane are used as much as ***,the same cooling concept is used with minor modifications of the internal structures in order to achieve desired coolant flow and internal heat transfer *** of the new design are quite similar to the original one except for cooling holes and application of thermal barrier coating(TBC).Detailed aerodynamics/heat transfer simulations reveals that the reduced trailing edge(T.E.)blockage and skin friction dominated the negative effect of increased secondary *** a result the reduced design performs acceptable in terms of total pressure loss and improving stage efficiency for a wide range of varying pressure ***,more than 20%cooling mass flow can be saved;while maximum and average metal temperatures as well as cross sectional temperature gradients have not been changed much.

On the role of topographic ampli fi cation in seismic slope instabilities

Surface wave generation due to body wave propagation near ground surface has been discussed in the *** phenomenon,typically occurring in topographic changing areas,along with its interaction with body waves(SV),decreases precision of formulas for evaluation of slope *** signi fi cant fact caused the researchers not only to investigate the combined surface and SV waves motion pattern,but also to consider its effect on structures built on the *** order to reveal the phenomenon,several fi nite element numerical studies have been performed by ABAQUS ***,two physical model slopes simulating the landslide occurrence have been constructed and tested by shaking table *** results of induced and calculated accelerations obtained by two approaches have been compared and Rayleigh wave generation has been ***,the slope displacements have been calculated by various empirical methods and the results were compared with numerical *** results proved that in order to increase the precision of empirical formulas for displacement prediction,surface wave effect should be taken into ***,a concept of'effective depth of sur fi cial ampli fi cation'is introduced and its effect on dynamic slope stability is analysed.

A new empirical chart for rockburst analysis in tunnelling:Tunnel rockburst classification(TRC)

Rockburst is defined as a phenomenon with immediate dynamic instability under excavation unloading conditions of deep or high geostress *** knowledge and lack of characterizing information prevent engineers and experts from achieving appropriate prediction results related to the rockburst *** this study,a data set including 220 rockburst instances was collected for rockburst classification via the geostatistical *** update of the 2D graph,the tunnel rockburst classification(TRC)chart,was introduced based on analysing three indicators,namely,elastic energy index(Wet),tangential stress in rock mass(σ_(0)),and uniaxial compressive strength(σ_(c)).Distribution and correlation of data were drawn on 2D plot,and the boundaries of rockburst were distinguished according to the achieved interpolate points by kriging ***,the validation phase was performed using an additional set of 28 case histories obtained from several projects around the *** results showed that the TRC chart with an average error percentage of 3.6%in the prediction of rockburst had a significant and effective implementation in comparison to the exiting heuristic *** the initial character of the prediction,the described chart may be a helpful tool in the first steps of design and construction.

Simplified microsatellite instability detection protocol provides equivalent sensitivity to robust detection strategies in Lynch syndrome patients

Objective:Germline mutations in mismatch repair(MMR)genes cause Lynch syndrome(LS).LS is an inherited disease,and an important consequence of MMR deficiency is microsatellite instability(MSI)*** phenotype influences the efficacy of5 fluorouracil(5-FU)***,cost effective,and easy to perform laboratory tests are required to include MSI detection in routine laboratory *** of CAT25 as monomorphic short tandem repeat sequence enables CAT25 to be an efficient screening tool among hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer(HNPCC)patients compared with other methods used ***:Based on Amsterdam II criteria,31 patients in 31 families were shortlisted from a total number of 1,659 colorectal cancer *** status was examined in these patients using CAT25 and a commercially available Promega MSI five-markerbased detection system as well as immunohistochemical(IHC)staining of four important MMR *** were scored as high microsatellite instable(MSI-H),low(MSI-L),or stable(MSS).MSI status determined by CAT25 single mononucleotide marker was compared with that of five mononucleotide markers,Promega commercial kit,and IHC ***:MMR protein deficiency was observed on 7/31 probands using IHC methodology and 6/31 categorized as MSI-H using commercial kit or CAT25 single *** sensitivity and specificity of the CAT25 single marker were the same as those detected by five-marker Promega commercial kit in our ***:Based on our results,the performance of the CAT25 single mononucleotide marker for MSI status determination in our HNPCC patients is the same as that of the five-marker-based commercial kit.

Modelling and optimization of nonylphenol biosorption by novel lowcost magnetic Chlorella vulgaris

Discharging untreated wastewater causes environmental *** research examined the efficiency of removal and the adsorption process of Emerging Contaminant nonylphenol(NP)using magnetic Chlorella vulgaris(M-Chlorella vulgaris).The characterization of M-Chlorella vulgaris involved XRD,FESEM,EDS-Mapping,BET,FTIR,and VSM *** impact of four different parametersdpH,MChlorella vulgaris dose,initial concentration of NP,and contact time on the biosorption process was *** model and optimize the study while minimizing costs and the number of experiments,Response Surface Methodology(RSM)with Central Composite Design(CCD)was *** to the findings,the quadratic model with adjusted R^(2)=0.96 was the best fitted among the other *** pH=3.5,dosage=2.5 g/l,NP concentration=4 mg/l,and reaction time=70 min,which are the optimal parameters,the maximum removal effectiveness was about 91%.The Langmuir model(R^(2)=0.998)and pseudo-second-order model(R^(2)=0.997)exhibited the best fits for the adsorption isotherm and kinetic studies,*** characteristics of M-Chlorella vulgaris were determined to facilitate a spontaneous nature,and thermodynamic experiments indicated that the process of adsorption of nonylphenol is *** inexpensiveness and availability of adsorbent,suitable efficiency in the biosorption of pollutant and magnetic collection of pollutant from the aquatic environment can be mentioned as the advantages of this process.

The new soliton solutions for long and short-wave interaction system

The goal of this paper is to discover modern soliton solutions to long and short-wave interaction system by procedures called extended rational sine-cosine and rational sinh-cosh *** assume that the equation has a hypothetical soliton *** reorganizing the resulting equations,we obtain a system of *** Maple software,we get unknown coefficients in the system and writing them in the original equation,we obtain new solition solutions of the *** results show that the soliton solutions generated by the method for the long and short-wave interaction system are bright,kink type,bright periodic and dark *** provided 3-D figures to illustrate the *** results indicate that the method employed in this paper is superior than some other methods used in the literature to solve the same system equations.
