Pediatric palliative care for children with cancer:a concept analysis using Rodgers’evolutionary approach

Background Providing access to pediatric palliative care(PPC)for children living with a serious illness,such as cancer,is of critical importance,although this specialized intervention,as a novel concept,still seems vague and *** present study analyzed the concept of PPC for children with *** Rodgers'evolutionary method was employed for the concept *** on PPC,particularly those for children suffering from cancer,published between 2010 and 2021 were searched in valid academic research *** inclusion criteria for the full-text articles were based on the characteristics,antecedents,and consequences of PPC for children with *** In total,19 relevant articles were selected and then reviewed and analyzed after applying the inclusion criteria and the final *** analysis of the concept of PPC for children affected with cancer revealed four characteristics,including"PPC as holistic and integrated care","PPC as patient-and family-centered care","PPC as early-start continuous care",and"PPC as interdisciplinary and team-based care".Some effective factors could also act as antecedents for this concept,i.e.,health care providers'training and expertise as well as human resources and ***,improved quality of life,symptom reduction,and coordination between patient care and family support were among the PPC consequences for such *** The study results demonstrated that delivering PPC to children with cancer demanded a comprehensive view of its various ***,numerous factors need to be delineated for its accurate and complete implementation.

A new application of silica chloride as an easily available and reusable solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of benzimidazole and its derivatives through the condensation of o-phenylenediamines and orthoesters under thermal and solvent-free conditions is described. This novel and eco-friendly method is very cheap and has many advan- tages including excellent yields, short reaction time, and simple work-up procedure.

An evaluation of central Iran’s protected areas under different climate change scenarios (A Case on Markazi and Hamedan provinces)

Global climate change poses a new challenge for species and can even push some species toward an extinction vortex. The most affected organisms are those with narrow tolerance to the climatic factors but many large mammals such as ungulates with a wider ecological niche are also being affected indirectly. Our research mainly used wild sheep in central Iran as a model species to explore how the suitable habitats will change under different climatic scenarios and to determine if current borders of protected areas will adequately protect habitat requirements. To create habitat models we used animal-vehicle collision points as an input for species presence data. We ran habitat models using Max Ent modeling approach under different climatic scenarios of the past, present and future(under the climatic scenarios for minimum(RCP2.6) and maximum(RCP8.5) CO2 concentration trajectories). We tried to estimate the overlap and the width of the ecological niche using relevant metrics. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the protected areas, suitable maps were concerted to binary maps using True Skill Statistic(TSS) threshold and measured the similarity of the binary maps for each scenario using Kappa index. In order to assess the competence of the present protected areas boundary in covering the distribution of species, two different scenarios were employed, which are ensemble scenario 1: an ensemble of the binary maps of the species distribution in Mid-Holocene, present, and RCP2.6;and ensemble scenario 2: an ensemble of binary suitability maps in Mid-Holocene, present, and RCP8.5. Then, the borders of modeled habitats with the boundaries of 23 existing protected areas in two central provinces in Iran were compared. The predicted species distribution under scenario 1(RCP2.6) was mostly similar to its current distribution(Kappa = 0.53) while the output model under scenario 2(RCP8.5) indicated a decline in the species distribution range. On active synchronization of fractional-order Bloch chaotic system and its practical application in secure image transmission

Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel and secure image transmission based on the unpredictable behavior of the chaotic ***/methodology/approach-The proposed approach includes two main contributions:synchronization scheme and transmission *** synchronization scheme benefits the advantage of the fractional-order active synchronization method.A new control law is derived to asymptotically synchronize the underlined fractional-order Bloch chaotic *** validity of the proposed synchronization scheme is proved by the Lyapunov stability ***,a novel image transmission scheme is designed to transfer image data via chaotic signals,which modulates the encrypted data in the sender signals and demodulates it at the receiver ***-Numerical simulations are provided to show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed image transmission ***,the performance of the image transmission system is evaluated using some illustrative examples and their corresponding statistical *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with other proposed methods in this ***/value–A new chaos-based image transmission system is developed based on the synchronization of Bloch chaotic *** introduced transmission system is interesting and could be applicable to any kind of secure image/video transmission.

Experimental investigating on the reflected waves from the caisson-type vertical porous seawalls

The hydrodynamic efficiencies of caisson-type vertical porous seawalls used for protecting coastal areas were calculated in this study. Physical models were developed to compare the wave reflection from vertical plane, semi-porous, and porous seawalls caused by both regular and random waves. Tests were carried out for a wide range of wave heights, wave periods, and different water depths (d=0.165, 0.270 and 0.375 m). The performance regarding the reflected waves from porous and semi-porous seawalls showed improvement when compared with those from the plane seawall. The reflection coefficients of the porous and semi-porous seawalls were calculated as 0.6 and 0.75, respectively, while the coefficient for the fully reflecting plane vertical wall was significantly higher (0.9). It was also observed that the reflection coefficient decreases with increase in wave steepness and relative water depth. In addition, the reduction in the reflection coefficient of porous and semi-porous seawalls, as compared to that of a plane seawall, was observed for both regular and random waves. New equations were also proposed to calculate the reflection coefficient of different types of seawalls with the aid of laboratory experiments. By verifying the developed equations using some other experimental data, it was validated that the equations could be used for practical situations. The results of the present study can be applied to optimize the design of vertical seawalls and for coastal protecting schemes.

Sizing of rock fragmentation modeling due to bench blasting using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system and radial basis function

One of the most important characters of blasting, a basic step of surface mining, is rock fragmentation. It directly effects on the costs of drilling and economics of the subsequent operations of loading, hauling and crushing in mines. Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system （ANFIS） and radial basis function （RBF） show potentials for modeling the behavior of complex nonlinear processes such as those involved in frag- mentation due to blasting of rocks. In this paper we developed ANFIS and RBF methods for modeling of sizing of rock fragmentation due to bench blasting by estimation of 80% passing size （Kso） of Golgohar iron ore mine of Sirjan, lran. Comparing the results of ANFIS and RBF models shows that although the sta- tistical parameters RBF model is acceptable but the ANFIS proposed model is superior and also simpler because the ANFIS model is constructed using only two input parameters while seven input parameters used for construction of the RBF model.
