The study was performed with seven groundnut varieties/genotypes and F1s derived from crossing in all possible combinations without reciprocal among the mentioned varieties/genotypes. The objective was to assess whether low Ca2＋ content and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratio of leaf tissue or stem tissue determine salinity tolerance in terms of economic yield （kernel yield） in groundnut. It revealed that the varieties, “Binachinabadam-6”, “Binachinabadam-5” and the F1 G2 × G3 were most tolerant based on kernel yield under 8 dS/m and 10 dS/m salinity stresses. These two tolerant varieties and the F1 also showed lower Ca2＋ and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratios in leaf tissue, which indicated lower Ca2＋ and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratio of leaf tissue determined salinity tolerance in terms of kernel yield in Spanish type groundnut. These findings could be applied in future plant breeding applications for screening salt tolerant Spanish type groundnut genotypes.

Direct oxidation is a simple and effective method for titanium surface *** this research,a titanium sample was directly oxidized at the high temperature in two different atmospheres,air and pure oxygen,to obtain better atmosphere for titanium surface *** results of the Raman spectroscopy indicated that in both atmospheres,the rutile bioactive phase(TiO2)has been formed on the titanium *** results of X-ray diffraction(XRD)also revealed that the surface of oxygen-treated sample was composed of the rutile phase and titanium monoxide(TiO),while at the surface of the air-treated sample,the rutile phase and titanium dioxide had been ***,the results of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FE-SEM)showed that by the surface treatment of titanium in both atmospheres,some micro-features including cracks thinner than 30 nm were formed on the *** of more apatite forming ability and fewer water contact angle and more L-929 cell attachment of the air-treated titanium,it seemed that air,in comparison to the pure oxygen,is more promising atmosphere for the direct oxidation of titanium and improving its biofunctionalization.

Artificial neural networks （ANNs） and genetic programming （GP） have recently been used for the estimation of hydraulic data. In this study, they were used as alternative tools to estimate the characteristics of hydraulic jumps, such as the free surface location and energy dissipation. The dimensionless hydraulic parameters, including jump depth, jump length, and energy dissipation, were determined as functions of the Froude number and the height and length of corrugations. The estimations of the ANN and GP models were found to be in good agreement with the measured data. The results of the ANN model were compared with those of the GP model, showing that the proposed ANN models are much more accurate than the GP models.

The present study was conducted in Varamin city of Tehran province,*** environmental impact of broiler production at farm gate and chicken meat production at slaughterhouse gate per mass-based functional unit in summer and winter seasons were evaluated using life-cycle assessment(LCA)*** impact categories including abiotic depletion potential,acidification potential,eutrophication potential,global warming potential,ozone depletion potential,human toxicity potential,freshwater and marine aquatic ecotoxicity potential,terrestrial ecotoxicity potential,and photochemical oxidation potential were assessed via CML 2 baseline 2000 v2.04/world,1990 *** to the results,the global warming potential,acidification and eutrophication for production of 1 ton packed meat were estimated to be 2931.91 kg CO2-eq,41.75 kg SO2-eq and 14.69 kg PO4-eq,in summer and 5357.61 kg CO2-eq,61.9 kg SO2-eq and 19.34 kg PO4-eq in winter,*** evaluations revealed that the broiler production stage was the main source of environmental impacts principally due to production and transportation of feed and on-farmemissions in the life cycle of chicken meat *** production farms,slaughterhouse and transportation account for 56%,31%and 13%of total energy consumption,respectively.

Maximizing seed germination in two Acacia species

Revegetation of disturbed land, particularly in arid environment, is often hindered by low seedling establishment. Information on seed biology and germination cues of valuable species is lacking. We investigated seed germination of two Acacia species （Acacia tortilis （Forsk.） Hayne and Acacia oerfota （Forssk） schwein/）, required for nitrogen fixation and rehabilitation of arid and semi-arid areas.（four pregermination seed treatments were applied in order to find the best treatment in germinating acacia species. The medium was L2 and three replicates were used. Seeds pretreated with sand paper and also with H2SO4 and then H2O2 had the highest germination percentage in both species. The lowest germination percentage resulted from soaking seeds in water for 48 h followed by soaking in H2SO4 for A. oerfota and from soaking in water for 24 h for A. tortilis. Because the use of sand paper is difficult and time consuming, we recommend pretreatment ofA. tortilis and A. oerfota seeds with H2SO4 and H2O2 before planting. Our study results are significant for conservation agencies with an interest in optimizing germination in arid zones for rehabilitation and reforestation.

This study presents a systematic review of the literature pertaining to dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs), in order to anticipate the direction and speed of change in technology trend. To study the general progression in DSSC research, we have assessed the evolution in annual DSSCs publications and their citations. Further, in order to identify the intellectual bases, we have also classified the journals, authors, institutes, and countries according to their scientific productivity in the field of DSSCs research during the period of 2007–2017.

Exposure to noise can lead to anatomical,nonauditory,and auditory *** auditory influence of noise exposure is manifested in the form of Noise-induced hearing loss(NIHL).The current study aimed at present a signal to noise ratio model of otoacoustic emission of rats’ears in the light of the combined effect of sound pressure level,sound frequency,exposure time,and potassium concentration of the used *** total,36 adult male rates,whose age varied from 3 to 4 months and had a weight of 200±50 g,were randomly divided into 12 groups,with each group consisting of 3 *** rats in both groups(case and control groups)were exposed to SPLs of 85,95,and 105 dB,emitted from sources that generated white noise.A distortion product otoacoustic emission(DPOAE)machine(4000 I/O manufactured by Homoth of Germany)was utilized to gauge the signal to noise ratio(SNR)of otoacoustic emissions of rats’ears at various frequencies in an acoustic *** inclusion criterion was SNR≥6 *** collected data were fed into the Statistical Package for Social Sciences(SPSS)version 18,followed by conducting descriptive and inferential data analysis *** results of SNR analysis indicated that over 82%of all data had SNRs that were equal to or greater than 6 *** data were considered as acceptable ***,SPL and sound frequency had significant associations with SNR(P<0.0001).Exposure time also significantly correlated with SNR(P=0.008).However,the potassium concentration of the used water had no significant correlation with SNR(P=0.97).High sound pressure levels result in lower ***,higher frequency leads to higher *** the contrary,longer exposure time reduces ***,the potassium concentration of the used water has no effect on SNR.
