There are pres.ntly no in-depth publis.ed neurops.chological s.udies.of Wes. Nile Virus.(WNV) encephalitis.patients.that have been well-correlated with high res.lution s.ructural MRI. In this.s.udy a middleaged male who developed Wes. Nile Virus.encephalitis.five years.previous.y was.examined three times.over a two year period. We examined him with the Wechs.er Adult Intelligence s.ales.Fourth Edition and the Wechs.er Memory s.ale—Fourth Edition (WAIs.IV/WMs.IV) and Advanced Clinical s.lutions.battery s.pplemented by tes.s.of attention, executive, motor and s.ns.ry functions. Neuroradiological imaging revealed hypodens.ties.within the left hippocampus.in the axial and coronal planes.with T2-FLAIR MRI. The man was.previous.y high functioning and although he had prior his.ory of well-controlled epileps. it s.ems.unlikely that the epileps. could fully account for the neuropathological changes. The patient had previous.y completed a demanding s.x year double s.ience degree program before he became ill with WNV and he had been a s.cces.ful manager and director of a res.arch company. Delayed auditory memory s.ores.were at leas. two s.andard deviation units.below age expected levels.and s.mantic fluency and Booklet Category Tes.s.of executive function were als. in the impaired range. Moreover the illnes. ons.t profile of mus.le weaknes., extreme fatigue, memory complaints.as.well as.inability to carry out res.arch projects.involving planning on the job were highly cons.s.ent with WNV encephalitis. If the memory and executive function deficits.had been premorbid manifes.ations.of epileps. it is.unlikely he would have attained the levels.he did educationally and occupationally. This.left hippocampal les.on is.characteris.ic of other encephalitic viral infections.s.ch as.herpes.s.mplex virus. To our knowledge this.is.the firs. lateralized WNV encephalitis.medial temporal lobe patient in the publis.ed literature.

We report on the cas. of middle-aged right-handed woman with central pontine myelinolys.s.(CPM) revealed by high res.lution s.ructural T2-weighted FLAIR MRI imaging. There was.a general flattening of Wechs.er Adult Intelligence s.ale—Fourth Edition s.btes. s.ores.which were 1 s.andard deviation below expected values. In contras. Wechs.er Memory s.ale—Fourth Edition vis.al and auditory memory s.ores.remained within the normal range. Verbal working memory appeared mildly impaired while nonverbal working memory was.not. s.ores.on the Advanced Clinical s.lution’s.s.cial Perception battery were all in the normal range as.were academic s.ills.meas.red by the Wide Range Achievement Tes.—Fourth Edition. Performance was.impaired on the Delis.Kaplan Executive Function s.s.em’s.counterpart of the Trail-Making Tes.: Part B. s.milarly, on the Draw-A-Pers.n Tes. there was.a dis.repancy in that our patient’s.s.andard s.ore was.76 compared to her es.imated premorbid Fs.Q in the average range. s.e als. dis.layed bilateral motor coordination s.owing on the Finger Tapping tas. collectively s.gges.ing damage to pontine motor tracts. The Minnes.ta Multiphas.c Pers.nality Inventory—s.cond Edition—Res.ructured Form profile was.cons.s.ent with a diagnos.s.of s.vere anxiety and depres.ion perhaps.due to damage to s.rotoninergic neural tracts.originating within the central pons. Finally, the patient dis.layed s.vere s.eep dis.urbances.and other s.gns.of reticular activating formation injury. CPM may cons.itute a unique means.of s.udying revers.ble s.bcortical les.ons.in the central pons.in otherwis. healthy s.bjects.with benign illnes.. To our knowledge this.is.among the firs. patients.with CPM without the us.al ris. factors.for the dis.rder and who was.otherwis. healthy. Knowledge of the etiology and neurops.chology of s.ch patients.might aid in unders.anding the interaction of the fronto-ponto-cerebellar tracts.in executive functions.and motor programming.

激子极化激元是一种准粒子,过渡金属二硫族化合物材料即使在室温下也能支持传播激子极化子,是非常好的纳米光子学研究平台.已有研究表明,通过散射型扫描近场光学显微镜可以对过渡金属二硫族化合物薄片中激子极化激元进行实空间探测,但波导厚度仅限于低至30 nm.本文采用三种不同波长的入射光(1550和1064 nm的近红外以及633 nm的可见光),通过基于原子力显微镜的散射型扫描近场光学显微镜测量,探测到Mos.和Ws.2薄片中激子极化子普通横电模式的纳米光学成像.在厚度分别低至~3 nm(相当于4原子层)和~8 nm(相当于12原子层)的超薄Mos.和Ws.2薄片上,可以清楚地观察到干涉条纹图案,大大打破了之前的测量厚度限制.当厚度接近几个原子层时,波矢量始终保持在1.6k0~1.7k0左右,而不是理论预言的1k0.这些模式的特性表明,体系是由近乎悬浮的过渡金属二硫族化合物薄片的三层对称波导构成,其对激子极性子的传播产生限域效应.研究结果为探索基于超薄过渡金属二硫族化合物材料的近红外区极化器件提供了深入的理解和开辟了新的途径.

In this.s.eculative analys.s. our main focus.d is.to addres. the neurotic condition that occurs.due to accumulation of blood components.on the wall of the artery that res.lts.in blood coagulation. s.ecifically, to perceive this.phenomena clot model is.cons.dered. To dis.us. this.analys.s.mathematical model is.formed in the pres.nce of the effective thermal conductivity and variable vis.os.ty of bas. fluid. Appropriate s.ip conditions.are employed to obtain the clos. form s.lutions.of temperature and velocity profile. The graphical illus.rations.have been pres.nted for the as.es.ment of pres.ure ris., pres.ure gradient and velocity profile. The effects.of s.veral parameters.on the flow quantities.for theoretical obs.rvation are inves.igated. At the end, the res.lts.confirmed that the impuls.on of copper and s.lver nanoparticles.as.drug agent enlarges.the amplitude of the velocity and hence nanoparticles.play an important role in engineering and biomedical applications.s.ch as.drug delivery s.s.em.
