Background: The signal-to-noise ratio (sNR) is recognized as an index of measurements reproducibility. We derive the maximum likelihood estimators of sNR and discuss confidence interval construction on the difference between two correlated sNRs when the readings are from bivariate normal and bivariate lognormal distribution. We use the Pearsons system of curves to approximate the difference between the two estimates and use the bootstrap methods to validate the approximate distributions of the statistic of interest. Methods: The paper uses the delta method to find the first four central moments, and hence the skewness and kurtosis which are important in the determination of the parameters of the Pearsons distribution. Results: The approach is illustrated in two examples;one from veterinary microbiology and food safety data and the other on data from clinical medicine. We derived the four central moments of the target statistics, together with the bootstrap method to evaluate the parameters of Pearsons distribution. The fitted Pearsons curves of Types I and II were recommended based on the available data. The R-codes are also provided to be readily used by the readers.

Background and Aims:While the incidence rates of hepa-tocellular carcinoma(HCC)are increasing,there are limited comprehensive data on demographic-specific incidence and mortality trends in the *** aimed to evaluate recent trends in HCC incidence and mortality among different de-mographic groups in the ***:Age-adjusted HCC incidence rates were calculated from the Centers for Disease Control's United states Cancer statistics database,which combines incidence data on newly diagnosed cancer cases and covers approximately 98%of the population in the ***,age-adjusted HCC mortality rates were obtained from the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Health statistics database,which offers comprehensive Cov-erage spanning nearly 100%of deaths attributed to HCC in the *** were stratified by sex,age(older[≥55 years]and younger[s]adults),race and ethnicity(Non-Hispanic White,Non-Hispanic Black,Hispanic,Non-Hispanic Asian/Pacific Islander,and Non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Native),and tumor stage at diagnosis(early and late).Annual and average annual percentage change(AAPC)were calculated using joinpoint regression.A sex-specific pairwise comparison was ***:Between 2001 and 2020,there were 467,346 patients diagnosed with HCC(26.0%women),with increasing incidence in both sexes without significant difference(p=0.65).In younger adults(78,169 patients),the incidence decreased in men but not in women(AAPC difference=-2.39,p=0.002).This was seen in various racial and ethnic groups,mostly driven by early-stage tumors(AAPC difference=-2.65,p=0.02).There were 329,973 deaths attributed to HCC between 2000 and 2020(28.4%women).In younger adults(43,093 deaths),mortal-ity decreased in men at a greater rate than in women(AAPC difference=1.61,p=0.007).This was seen in various racial and ethnic groups,most notably in non-Hispanic American Indian/Alaska Natives(AAPC difference=-4.51,p=0.01).Conclusions:Nationwide UsA data,coveri

Textile dyes are dramatic sources of pollution and non-aesthetic disturbance of aquatic life and therefore represent a potential risk of bioaccumulation that can affect living *** is imperative to reduce or eliminate these dyes from liquid effluents with innovative biomaterials and ***,this research aims to highlight the performance of Capparis spinosa L waste-activated carbon(CsLW-AC)adsorbent to remove crystal violet(CV)from an aqueous *** mechanism of CV adsorption on CsLW-AC was evaluated based on the coupling of experimental data and different characterization *** efficiency of the CsLW-AC material reflected by the equilibrium adsorption capacity of CV could reach more than 195.671 mg·g^(–1) when 0.5 g·L^(–1) of CsLW-AC(Particle size≤250μm)is introduced into the CV of initial concentration of 100 mg·L^(–1) at pH 6 and temperature 65℃ and in the presence of potassium ions after 60 min of contact time according to the one parameter at a time *** adsorption behavior of CV on CsLW-AC was found to be consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Frumkin's linear isothermal *** thermodynamic aspects indicate that the process is physical,spontaneous,and *** optimization of the process by the Box Behnken design of experiments resulted in an adsorption capacity approaching 183.544 mg·g^(–1)([CV]=100 mg·L^(–1) and[CsLW-AC]=0.5 g·L^(–1) at 35 min).The results of the Lactuca sativa seeds germination in treated CV(70%),adsorbent solvent and thermal regeneration(more than 5 cycles),and process cost analysis(1.0484 UsD·L^(–1))tests are encouraging and promising for future exploitations of the CsLW-AC material in different industrial fields.

The safety of vehicle travel relies on good stability performance, making vehicle motion control a vital technology in vehicles. This paper focuses on investigating the impact of roll control on vehicle performance, particularly in terms of avoiding rollover and ensuring lateral stability. By introducing a feedback roll moment, the roll motion can be effectively controlled. The paper considers two roll reference generators: A static one aimed at zero roll, and a dynamic one based on the vehicle's lateral acceleration. The static roll reference generator enhances stability by employing a fixed reference, particularly beneficial during routine driving conditions. In contrast, the dynamic roll reference generator continually adapts the roll angle reference in response to real-time vehicle dynamics and driving conditions. These proposed reference generators can be paired with varying suspension systems — static reference could be achieved using semi-active suspensions, while the dynamic one is integrated into advanced active suspension systems, offering heightened adaptability and *** address the roll control objectives, this paper proposes a novel sum of squares(sOs) integral polynomial tracking control. The proposed controller satisfies control bounds and considers control constraints during the design phase. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control scheme are evaluated through numerical simulations using a full vehicle nonlinear model in Matlab/simulink. The results of these simulations are compared to super-twisting sliding mode and Lyapunov-based controllers.

Côte d’Ivoire is currently experiencing strong growth in the mining sector. Identifying the formations present in our subsoil is therefore essential for mining recovery. It is in this context that we conducted studies on the formations present in the locality of Guintéguéla. It is located in the northwest of Côte d’Ivoire in the bafing region. The aim of this work was to determine the petrographic and structural characteristics of the formations of the area. The methodology began with documentation and then followed petrography and structural analysis work on the macroscopic and microscopic levels. We observed six groups of rocks: granitoids, amphibolites, orthogneiss, quartzites (poor and rich in magnetites), volcano-sediments and filonian rocks. Metamorphism is of amphibolite to granulite facies. However, volcano-sediments must be associated with the green schist facies. With regard to the structural, structures and microstructures such as foliation;fractures;sigmoidal figures reveal that the studied area was affected by ductile and also brittle tectonics whose main directions are oriented along the shear corridor, so N-s to NNW-ssE.

Novel brominated flame retardants(NBFRs)are a group of chemicals applied mainly as alternatives to the phased-out polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs).However,toxicological studies show that NBFRs may pose health risks similar to *** present study reviews available information on the biomonitoring of NBFRs and their metabolites in humans through invasive and non-invasive biomarkers,as well as the toxicological effects of these chemicals both in vivo and in *** general,higher concentrations of NBFRs were reported in tissues of occupationally exposed adults from NBFR production facilities,e-waste recycling facilities and inhabitants living close to these areas,compared to the general *** is worth noting that NBFR human biomonitoring data are limited to few countries located in North America,Europe and Asia,while data from developing countries are *** from in vivo and in vitro toxicity studies show that several NBFRs can cause adverse health effects through various modes of action,mainly:hormone disruption,genotoxicity,endocrine disruption,and behavioural *** few studies have investigated the biotransformation of NBFRs in humans,evidence suggests that the toxicity of some NBFRs may be augmented through their metabolites,as in the case of 2,3,4,5-tetrabromobenzoic acid(TBBA),which may exhibit higher toxicity than its parent compound 2-ethylhexyl-2,3,4,5-tetrabromobenzoate(EH-TBB).More research is required to assess toxicity thresholds,toxic endpoints,and tolerable intakes for various NBFRs,and their metabolites in *** epidemiological studies are highly recommended to further understand the risk arising from human exposure to different NBFRs,particularly in occupational settings.
