Molecular analysis of Pasteurella multocida strains isolated from fowl cholera infection in backyard chickens

Objective:To characterize Pasteurella isolated from backyard chickens using whole cell protein lysate profiles and random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD)techniques to show their genetic relationship because Pasteurclla multocida(P.multocida)is an important cause of fatal infections in backyard chickens.Methods:Twenty one P.multocida isolates were recovered previously from clinical cases of fowl cholera belonging to individual owners and phenotypically analysed using biochemical tests and serotyping were used far the genetic characterization.Results:Phylogenetic study based on both methods revealed that the recovered population of P.multocida isolated from backyard chickens differs markedly,constituting a well-separated cluster and appearance of 3 distinguishing lineages with greater discrimination shown by RAPDPCR that resulted in two suclusters in cluster A and three subclusters in cluster B and were related greatly with capsular serogroups for the examined strains.The whole cell protein revealed the presence of dominant protein bands at approximately 41 and 61 kDa in all of the examined isolates that may be a virulent proteins share in the increasing of its pathogenicity.Clear distinctive bands ranged from 123 to 1534 bp.Conclusions:Based on the previous findings,there are three spreading clusters that may indicate the association of a small number of P.multocida variants with the majority of cases suggesting that certain clones of P.multocida are able to colonue the examined backyard chickens.Also,the ease and rapidity of RAPD-PCR support the use of this technique as alternative to the more labour-intensive SDS-PACE system for strain differentiation and epidemiological studies of avian P.multocida.Further application of RAPD technology to the examination of avian cholera outbreaks in commercially available flocks may facilitate more effective management of this disease by providing the potential to investigate correlations of P.multocida genotypes,to identify affiliations between bird types and bacterial genot

Deep learning(DL)plays a critical role in processing and converting data into knowledge and decisions.DL technologies have been applied in a variety of applications,including image,video,and genome sequence analysis.In deep learning the most widely utilized architecture is Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)are taught discriminatory traits in a supervised environment.In comparison to other classic neural networks,CNN makes use of a limited number of artificial neurons,therefore it is ideal for the recognition and processing of wheat gene sequences.Wheat is an essential crop of cereals for people around the world.Wheat Genotypes identification has an impact on the possible development of many countries in the agricultural sector.In quantitative genetics prediction of genetic values is a central issue.Wheat is an allohexaploid(AABBDD)with three distinct genomes.The sizes of the wheat genome are quite large compared to many other kinds and the availability of a diversity of genetic knowledge and normal structure at breeding lines of wheat,Therefore,genome sequence approaches based on techniques of Artificial Intelligence(AI)are necessary.This paper focuses on using the Wheat genome sequence will assist wheat producers in making better use of their genetic resources and managing genetic variation in their breeding program,as well as propose a novel model based on deep learning for offering a fundamental overview of genomic prediction theory and current constraints.In this paper,the hyperparameters of the network are optimized in the CNN to decrease the requirement for manual search and enhance network performance using a new proposed model built on an optimization algorithm and Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN).

Evaluation of GALAD Score in Diagnosis and Follow-up of Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Local Ablative Therapy

Background and Aims:Strategies for detection of early hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)are still limited.The GALAD score is a serum biomarker-based model designed to predict the probability of having HCC.We aimed to assess the ability of GALAD score to diagnose early HCC and its validity to follow patients after local ablation therapy.Methods:This multicenter prospective study included 108 patients in two groups,58 HCC patients(67 focal lesions)with local ablative therapy(study group),and a control group of 50 patients with liver cirrhosis.The GALAD scores of the study and control groups,and of the HCC patients before and after ablative therapy were compared.Results:Most patients were men(74.1%in study group and 76%in controls)with hepatitis C virus infection(98.30%in the study group,and 94%in controls).GALAD scores were significantly higher in HCC patients than in those with benign cirrhosis(2.65 vs.−0.37,p=0.001).Ablative therapy was successful in 94.4%of focal lesions<2 cm,and in 86.10%of 2–5 cm lesions.The GALAD score was also significantly lower at 1 month after ablation in patients with well-ablated tumors(2.19 vs.0.98,p=0.001).The best cutoff values of GALAD score for diagnosis of early HCC,and for prediction of well ablation of HCC were 0.74 and≤3.31(areas under the curve of 0.92 and 0.75,sensitivities of 84.48%and 76.19%,specificities of 89.13%and 83.33%,positive predictive values of 90.74%and 94.1%,and negative predictive values of 82%and 35.7%respectively).Conclusion:The GALAD score was effective for the diagnosis of early HCC and for followup after ablative therapy.

A Multi-Factor Authentication-Based Framework for Identity Management in Cloud Applications

User’s data is considered as a vital asset of several organizations.Migrating data to the cloud computing is not an easy decision for any organization due to the privacy and security concerns.Service providers must ensure that both data and applications that will be stored on the cloud should be protected in a secure environment.The data stored on the public cloud will be vulnerable to outside and inside attacks.This paper provides interactive multi-layer authentication frameworks for securing user identities on the cloud.Different access control policies are applied for verifying users on the cloud.A security mechanism is applied to the cloud application that includes user registration,granting user privileges,and generating user authentication factor.An intrusion detection system is embedded to the security mechanism to detect malicious users.The multi factor authentication,intrusion detection,and access control techniques can be used for ensuring the identity of the user.Finally,encryption techniques are used for protecting the data from being disclosed.Experimental results are carried out to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed frameworks and mechanism.The results recorded high detection rate with low false positive alarms.

Optimized Deep Learning Approach for Efficient Diabetic Retinopathy Classification Combining VGG16-CNN

Diabetic retinopathy is a critical eye condition that,if not treated,can lead to vision loss.Traditional methods of diagnosing and treating the disease are time-consuming and expensive.However,machine learning and deep transfer learning(DTL)techniques have shown promise in medical applications,including detecting,classifying,and segmenting diabetic retinopathy.These advanced techniques offer higher accuracy and performance.ComputerAided Diagnosis(CAD)is crucial in speeding up classification and providing accurate disease diagnoses.Overall,these technological advancements hold great potential for improving the management of diabetic retinopathy.The study’s objective was to differentiate between different classes of diabetes and verify the model’s capability to distinguish between these classes.The robustness of the model was evaluated using other metrics such as accuracy(ACC),precision(PRE),recall(REC),and area under the curve(AUC).In this particular study,the researchers utilized data cleansing techniques,transfer learning(TL),and convolutional neural network(CNN)methods to effectively identify and categorize the various diseases associated with diabetic retinopathy(DR).They employed the VGG-16CNN model,incorporating intelligent parameters that enhanced its robustness.The outcomes surpassed the results obtained by the auto enhancement(AE)filter,which had an ACC of over 98%.The manuscript provides visual aids such as graphs,tables,and techniques and frameworks to enhance understanding.This study highlights the significance of optimized deep TL in improving the metrics of the classification of the four separate classes of DR.The manuscript emphasizes the importance of using the VGG16CNN classification technique in this context.

Second-line panitumumab as a triweekly dose for patients with wild-type KRAS exon 2 metastatic colorectal cancer:a single-institution experience

Objective: Panitumumab administered as monotherapy in colorectal cancer(CRC) has shown response and disease stabilization rates of approximately 30%. The current study aimed to evaluate the progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC) treated with panitumumab every 3 weeks as a second line treatment.Methods: This study is a retrospective analysis of 18 patients, aged more than 18 years, with wild-type KRAS exon 2 mCRC treated with panitumumab as a second-line single agent after progression on first-line chemotherapy.Results: The median number of courses received was 10(range, 4-29), and the median duration of treatment was 30 weeks(range,12-96 weeks). After a median follow-up period of 13 months, the median PFS was 6 months(range, 4.3-7.7 months) and the median OS was 11 months(range, 7.4-14.5 months). The median PFS was 4 months for patients with < grade 2 skin toxicity and 6months(range, 4.5-7.5 months) for patients with ≥ grade 2 skin rash(P=0.05). The median OS was 9 months(range, 6.4-11.5months) and 14 months(range, 11.6-16.3 months) for the two groups of patients(P=0.002).Conclusions: Panitumumab given every 3 weeks is effective and well tolerated in patients with advanced CRC that progressed after standard chemotherapy.

Standard precaution measurements during ophthalmology practice in the pandemic stage of COVID-19

AIM:To take specific precautions and keep a safe practice during providing ophthalmology health services without compromising the patient’s safety as well as the team workers and the community in the pandemic stage of corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19).METHODS:Applying patient circulation scheme implemented in our ophthalmology centers with the guidance of ministry of health infection control guidelines star ted from the moment that we receive a call or Whats App message or Facebook inquiry from patients until 21 d after patients first visit if any.Four directions were taken.First,community awareness of the disease and the ophthalmology related advices in how eye can transfers the infection and how to protect our eyes not to be infected through videos interviews of our consultants and distribution in social media like Instagram,Facebook,Whats App pages radio and TV interviews as well as leaflet health awareness for distribution for public.Second,scheduling of patients’appointments to prevent overcrowdings and cross infection.Third,protective measurements tools in the center to detect and prevent any exposure of the patients to patients and to protect medical staff,COVID-19 scoring system was set up to identify patients with fever,respiratory symptoms,acute conjunctivitis or recent travel to outbreak areas and to encourage these individuals to postpone their appointments for at least 21 d.Proper use of personal protective equipment was implemented.Stopping all the elective surgeries keeping only the emergency types advised by fourth:how to deal with our patients if they need an urgent ophthalmological intervention and how to deal with suspected cases of corona if any cases detected.RESULTS:Our measures helped our colleagues to try to keep providing ophthalmology health services without increasing the incidence of infection for COVID-19 until this pandemic is over.CONCLUSION:In our practice,ophthalmologists should work with new aura of social media to facilitate the nondirect communication with the patients throug

Association of Hyperhomocysteinaemia with Hyperglycaemia, Dyslipidaemia, Hypertension and Obesity

There is conflicting scientific data about the link between, high homocysteine (Hcy) levels in the general population, and obesity. This is a case-control study aimed to assess the role of hyperhomocysteinemia in obesity and its associated illnesses, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, and hyperglycemia in Gezira state, Sudan. Two hundred and eleven participants were included in the study, 140 were obese (117 females and 23 males) and 71 were normal weight control, the obese median age was 49.49 ± 12.2 years. The control group consisted of 71 individuals with an average age of 45.78 ± 17.67 years. Among those who were already known to be obese, 67 (47.9%) reported having type II diabetes mellitus, 71 (50.7%) reported having hypertension, and 35 (25%) were obese without having either diabetes or hypertension. Three mls of venous blood from each participant were collected in the morning after a 12 h overnight fasting in Lithium heparin containers then the plasma was separated and stored at -80°C for analysis. Serum Hcy and lipid profile were measured using the enzymatic method by Cobas C 411 analyzer. In comparison to obese non-hypertensive, the results showed that obese hypertensive with Hcy levels > 15 mol/L had a considerably increased risk (OR 1.12). When Hcy levels > 15 mol/L were compared to obese diabetics and obese non-diabetics, insignificant difference was shown (P: 0.345). Males had a higher likelihood of having hyperhomocysteinemia than females did (OR 1.2). Homocysteine, cholesterol triglyceride, LDL, and HDL mean values were compared between case and control groups using the independent sample t-test, and the results revealed statistically significant (P: <0.05). Relationships between hyperhomocysteinaemia and cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL in the group of obese individuals were not statistically significant (P: 0.574, 0.265, 0.748, and 0.14), respectively. The accuracy ofﬁngerprint recognition model is extremely important due to its usage in forensic and securityﬁelds.Anyﬁngerprint recognition system has particular network architecture whereas many other networks achieve higher accuracy.To solve this problem in a uniﬁed model,this paper proposes a model that can automatically specify itself.So,it is called an automatic deep neural net-work(ADNN).Our algorithm can specify the appropriate architecture of the neur-al network used and some signiﬁcant parameters of this network.These parameters are the number ofﬁlters,epochs,and iterations.It guarantees the high-est accuracy by updating itself until achieving 99%accuracy then it stops and out-puts the result.Moreover,this paper proposes an end-to-end methodology for recognizing a person’s identity from the inputﬁngerprint image based on a resi-dual convolutional neural network.It is a complete system and is fully automated whether in the features extraction stage or the classiﬁcation stage.Our goal is to automate thisﬁngerprint recognition system because the more automatic the sys-tem is,the more time and effort it saves.Our model also allows users to react by inputting the initial values of these parameters.Then,the model updates itself until itﬁnds the optimal values for the parameters and achieves the best accuracy.Another advantage of our algorithm is that it can recognize people from their thumb and otherﬁngers and its ability to recognize distorted samples.Our algo-rithm achieved 99.75%accuracy on the publicﬁngerprint dataset(SOCOFing).This is the best accuracy compared with other models.
