This article presents a novel modified chuck wagon dinner bell shaped millimeter wave(mm-wave)antenna at 28 *** proposed design has ultra-thin Rogers 5880 substrate with relative permittivity of *** design consists of T shaped resonating elements and two open ended side *** desired 28 GHz frequency response is achieved by careful parametric modeling of the proposed *** maximum achieved single element gain at the desired resonance frequency is 3.45 *** efficiency of the proposed design over the operating band is more than 88%.The impedance bandwidth achieved for−10 dB reference value is nearly 2.9 *** proposed antenna is transformed into four element linear array which increases the gain up to 10.5 *** fabricated prototype is tested for the measured *** is observed that measured results closely match the simulated *** considering its simple structure and focused radiation patterns,the proposed design is well suited for IoT(Internet of Things),mmWave microwave sensing,5G and future RF(Radio Frequency)frontends.

Drought stress has become more common in recent years as a result of climate change impacts on the production of banana crops and other fruit *** growth and productivity of Musa spp are severely impacted by the gradual degradation of water resources and the erratic distribution pattern of annual precipitation *** aim of the work includes increased drought tolerance in light of water scarcity in the world as a result of the bananas’being gluttonous for water *** investigation was carried out from 2019 to 2020 to study the effect of potassium silicate on morphological growth and biochemical parameters of Musa acuminata L under drought stress by *** a result,drought stress reduced the morphological characteristics such as shoots number,shoot length,roots number,and survival percentage and biochemical characteristics such as chlorophyll a,b,carotenoids,stomatal status,and *** proline content increased in the leaf of *** *** complemented with K2SiO3(2 to 6 mm)either individually or in combination with PEG led to an improvement in all morphological and biochemical *** activities of CAT,POD,and PPO enzymes increased significantly compared to ***,the lowest PPO,CAT,and POD activity were ***,K2SiO3 treatments under drought stress successfully enhanced the leaf stomatal *** results suggest that K2SiO3 can help to maintain plant integrity in the tested cultivar under drought stress.

Genetic characterization of FSH beta-subunit gene and its association with buffalo fertility

Objective:To study genetic variation in buffalo follicle stimulating hormone beta-subunit (FSHB) gene and its association with ***: In this experimental study, blood samples were collected by standard methods using EDTA anticoagulant and transrectal ultrasound examination was conducted on fertile (n=74) and infertile buffaloes with a history of anestrum (n=30) or repeat breeding (n=12). The genomic DNA was extracted for PCR followed by single strand conformation polymorphism analysis. DNA sequencing was performed for the determination of single nucleotide polymorphism ofFSHB ***:The study results showed that there was genetic polymorphism with two different single strand conformation polymorphism patterns, AA and AB. The former pattern was associated with fertility in Egyptian buffaloes. Pair wise alignment of the two patterns sequences revealed that FSHB pattern II (AB) has C nucleotide insertion as SNP at the site of 208 bp of sequenced ***:FSHB is polymorphic in the infertile Egyptian buffaloes, suggesting its practicability as a candidate marker for female fertility.

Influence of butylated hydroxytoluene addition to cryodiluents on freezability and DNA integrity of Boer and Zaraibi buck spermatozoa

Objective:To evaluate the cryoprotective effect of butylated hydroxytoluene on buck frozen ***:Semen was collected from Boer(n=6)and Zaraibi(n=6)bucks by electroejaculator for 5 *** aliquots were diluted at 38℃in Tris-buffer with egg yolk 15.0%(vol/vol)(Tris-egg yolk extender)or soya lecithin 2.5%(weight/vol)(Tris-soya lecithin extender)supplemented with butylated hydroxytoluene at 0.0(as the control),0.5,1.0,2.0 and 4.0 ***-thawing motility(at 400×magnification),plasma(hypo-osmotic swelling test),acrosome(Trypan blue/Giemsa dual staining)membranes,DNA(comet assay),and lipid peroxidation(by malondialdehyde concentration)were ***:Spermatozoa motility was enhanced by butylated hydroxytoluene in Tris-soya lecithin extender at 0.5 mm in the two breeds,and in Tris-egg yolk extender at 1.0 mm in Boer and at 2.0 mm in Zaraibi bucks for up to 3 h *** and acrosome membranes and DNA integrity of the two breeds were maximally high with butylated hydroxytoluene at 1.0-2.0 mm in Tris-egg yolk extender and at 0.5-1.0 mm in Tris-soya lecithin *** peroxidation was minimal with butylated hydroxytoluene at 1.0-2.0 mm in Tris-egg yolk and soya lecithin extenders in the two *** hydroxytoluene at 4.0 mm deteriorated spermatozoa motility,and plasma and acrosome ***:The consequence of butylated hydroxytoluene on buck frozen-thawed spermatozoa varies with the levels of supplementation,buck breed,and phospholipid source in the *** parameters of Boer buck are better in their response to butylated hydroxytoluene than Zaraibi *** hydroxytoluene at 1.0 and 2.0 mm in Tris-egg yolk extender,and at 0.5 mm in Tris-soya lecithin extender represents the best concentrations and profitably improves the semen quality of buck semen.

Retrofitting Sprinkler Systems for Suppressing Dust Generated by Moving Vehicles Inside Farms

Fugitive dust is one of the well known problems in agriculture and it affects both humans and machine producing quality. Dust problems can seriously cause harmful diseases to workers and ruin expensive equipments. In this study, a dust formation generated in open environment by vehicles was analyzed on unpaved roads. Formed dust was measured by calculating total forces on the PM10 （airborne particles smaller than 10 mm） of dust particles, such as air velocity, gravity forces and air turbulence generated by the moving vehicle. The water fogger nozzle discharge was measured to determine the approximate droplets quantity in the air. The foggers were used to suppress the generated dust in an open environment via installing a proposed automatic suppression system which opens automatically when vehicles pass under the system. The relationship between water droplet speed and ability of collecting fugitive dust showed that high air temperature above 40oC and wind speed above 10 m s-1 have negative effects on the system’s ability of collecting dust due to evaporation of small radius droplets and/or drifting water droplets away from the effective area. The overall system efficiency was found to be 85% and the proposed dust suppression system was found to be a satisfying solution for reducing fugitive dust hazards.

Risk factors and prognosis of pediatric rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in Egypt:a university hospital based study

AIM:To study and compare the predisposing factors and clinical features of pediatric,adult,and elderly rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).METHODS:This is an observational analytic crosssectional study in which patients with RRD admitted for surgery during 6mo period were divided into 3 age groups:pediatric(60y).Patients’demographic data,clinical features,RRD predisposing factors/features including myopia(axial length≥26.5 mm),aphakia/pseudophakia,blunt trauma,peripheral retinal degenerations,history of RRD in the fellow eye,and surgical interventions/findings were recorded and ***:Totally 142 patients(142 eyes)were studied:26(18.31%)pediatrics,86(60.56%)adults,and 30(21.13%)*** patients had a significantly higher intraocular pressures and cataracts compared to the other 2 groups(P=0.04).The RRD extent was larger in pediatric group(mostly 4 quadrants)compared to adults and elderly(mostly 2 quadrants),but it was not statistically insignificant(P=0.242).There were not statistically significantly differences in proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR)rate,posterior vitreous detachment(PVD)rate,number,site,shape,and size of breaks in three *** three groups had macular detachment in all *** and peripheral retinal degenerations were found to be more significant in adults(P=0.049,P=0.035,respectively),while blunt trauma was higher but insignificant in pediatric eyes(P=0.052).Pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)with silicone oil as a tamponade was the most used surgery in all ***:There are no significant difference in PVR rate in pediatric eyes but a significant higher rate of total *** trauma is more frequent in pediatrics eyes while myopia and/or peripheral retinal degenerations are more frequent in older *** rate of PPV as a choice for surgery is similar among all age groups.

Optimizing the adhesion of soil-touching parts based on biomimetic concepts using the Taguchi method

Several studies highlighted that the surface shape modifications which are inspired by the soil-burrowing animals have positively impacted the soil-tool adhesion;however,it is still unclear what the optimum dimensions of the domed surface are for minimizing soil-tool *** this study,twenty-seven domed discs were created according to Taguchi orthogonal array L27(3^(3))to determine the optimum dimensions of the domed surface that minimize normal adhesion force and disc sinkage simultaneously,as well as comparing the effect of the optimized domed disc versus the flat disc on the normal adhesion force under different soil *** results revealed that disc coverage ratio and dome height to diameter ratio are essential to design parameters that influence the normal adhesion force of *** to the signal-to-noise ratio analysis,it was observed that the combination of 60%disc coverage ratio,25%dome height to diameter ratio,and 10 mm dome base diameter was found to be the most appropriate for the well-balanced improvement of both normal adhesion force and disc sinkage *** all treatments,the optimized domed disc produced less normal adhesion force than the flat disc(about 7%-18%,according to soil condition).It can be concluded that properly designed domed surfaces can significantly reduce the normal adhesion force when compared to flat surfaces.

Automated diagnosis and staging of Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy using deep learning

Background:To describe the diagnostic performance of a deep learning algorithm in discriminating early-stage Fuchs'endothelial corneal dystrophy(FECD)without clinically evident corneal edema from healthy and late-stage FECD eyes using high-definition optical coherence tomography(HD-OCT).Methods:In this observational case-control study,104 eyes(53 FECD eyes and 51 healthy controls)received HDOCT imaging(Envisu R2210,Bioptigen,Buffalo Grove,IL,USA)using a 6 mm radial scan pattern centered on the corneal *** was clinically categorized into early(without corneal edema)and late stage(with corneal edema).A total of 18,720 anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)images(9180 healthy;5400 early-stage FECD;4140 late-stage FECD)of 104 eyes(81 patients)were used to develop and validate a deep learning classification network to differentiate early-stage FECD eyes from healthy eyes and those with clinical *** 5-fold cross-validation on the dataset containing 11,340 OCT images(63 eyes),the network was trained with 80%of these images(3420 healthy;3060 early-stage FECD;2700 late-stage FECD),then tested with 20%(720 healthy;720 early-stage FECD;720 late-stage FECD).Thereafter,a final model was trained with the entire dataset consisting the 11,340 images and validated with a remaining 7380 images of unseen AS-0CT scans of 41 eyes(5040 healthy;1620 early-stage FECD 720 late-stage FECD).Visualization of learned features was done,and area under curve(AUC),specificity,and sensitivity of the prediction outputs for healthy,early and late-stage FECD were ***:The final model achieved an AUC of 0.997±0.005 with 91%sensitivity and 97%specificity in detecting early-stage FECD;an AUC of 0.974±0.005 with a specificity of 92%and a sensitivity up to 100%in detecting late-stage FECD;and an AUC of 0.998±0.001 with a specificity 98%and a sensitivity of 99%in discriminating healthycorneas fromall ***:Deep learning algorithm is an accurate autonomous

Contralateral eye study of refractive,topographic and aberrometric outcomes after femtosecond assisted Myo Ring implantation and DALK for management of keratoconus

AIM：To evaluate the efficacy of femtosecond laser assisted MyoRing intrastromal corneal implant and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty （DALK） for management of moderate to advanced keratoconus regarding the degree of changes in visual acuity, refraction, corneal asphericity and ***：A prospective non comparative interventional case study was conducted in Ophthalmology Department,Ain Shams University Hospital in the period from January 2015 to February 2017. The study included 30 eyes of moderate to advanced keratoconus. MyoRing was implanted in one eye （Group Ⅰ） and DALK operation was performed in the contralateral eye of the same patient （Group Ⅱ）.Preoperative and 6mo post-operative uncorrected visual acuity（UCVA）, corrected distance visual acuity （CDVA）, spherical equivalent （SE）, corneal and refractive astigmatisms,keratometry and Q-value using topography images were acquired. Quality of vision was assessed in all eyes including total corneal, anterior corneal high order aberrations analysis at 5 mm pupil size and the Strehl ratio of point spread function （PSF） as an objective measure of ***：Mean postoperative UCVA, CDVA, SE, refractive astigmatism,keratometryreadingsandasphericity were statistically improved compared to preoperative parameters in both groups （P〈0.05）. Significant reduction of all corneal aberrations following both techniques（P〈0.05） was achieved except mean trefoil and mean PSF in Group Ⅰ （P〉0.05）. Postoperative corneal aberrations were significantly lower in Group Ⅱ compared to Group Ⅰ.A statistically significant negative correlation was found in Group Ⅰ between the mean change in CDVA （logMAR）and the mean preoperative and mean postoperative total corneal aberrations root mean square （RMS; r=-0.78,P=0.04）. The present study aims to investigate the effect of temporary cerebrospinal fluid pressure(CSFP) reduction on optic nerve head(ONH) and macular vessel density(VD) using optical coherence tomography ***-four eyes of 44 adults with diagnostic lumbar puncture and CSFP reduction were ***-two eyes of 32 healthy volunteers were *** and macular VD images were evaluated differences between baseline and after CSFP *** results showed that the mean CSFP decreased from(11.6±2.1) mm Hg to(8.2±3.4) mm Hg(P0.05).In the study group,decreased VD in the macular parainferior region was associated with CSFP reduction(R^(2)=0.192,P=0.003),the reduction of macular VD in parafoveal(R^(2)=0.098,P=0.018),parainferior(R^(2)=0.104,P=0.021),parasuperior(R^(2)=0.059,P=0.058),paranasal(R^(2)=0.057,P=0.042),paratemporal(R^(2)=0.079,P=0.026) was associated with mean ocular perfusion pressure decrease following CSFP *** vessel density did not differ after CSFP reduction(all P>0.05).In conclusion,macular vessel density decreased in association with CSFP *** vessel density in the macular region is more sensitive than that in peripapillary region after CSFP reduction.
