Charcoal Nanoparticles as a Delivery System for Doxorubicin and Sorafenib in Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of liver cancer and one of the leading causes of cancer-related death worldwide. Advanced HCC displays strong resistance to chemotherapy, and traditional chemotherapy drugs do not achieve satisfactory therapeutic efficacy. The delivery of therapeutic compounds to the target site is a major challenge in the treatment of many diseases. Objective: This study aims to evaluate activated charcoal nanoparticles as a drug delivery system for anticancer agents (Sorafenib and Doxorubicin) in Hepatocellular Cancer Stem Cells. Method: The percent efficiency of entrapment (% ee) of the doxorubicin and sorafenib entrapped onto the activated charcoal was obtained by determining the free doxorubicin and sorafenib concentration in the supernatant-prepared solutions. Then the characterizations of nanoparticles were formed by determination of the particle size distribution, zeta potential, and polydispersity index (PDI). The anticancer activity of activated Charcoal, Doxorubicin-ACNP, sorafenib-ACNP, free doxorubicin, and free sorafenib solutions was measured based on cell viability percentage in HepG2 cell lines (ATCC-CCL 75). In vitro RBC’s toxicity of Doxorubicin/sorafenib loaded charcoal was estimated by hemolysis percentage. Results: The synthesized Doxorubicin-ACNP and Sorafenib-ACNP were evaluated and their physiochemical properties were also examined. essentially, the percent efficiency of entrapment (ee %) was found to be 87.5% and 82.66% for Doxorubicin-ACNP and Sorafenib-ACNP, respectively. The loading capacity was 34.78% and 24.31% for Doxorubicin-ACNP and Sorafenib-ACNP. Using the Dynamic Light scattering [DLS] for the determination of the hydrodynamic size and surface zeta potential, a narrow sample size distribution was obtained of (18, 68, and 190 nm for charcoal, 105, 255, and 712 nm for doxorubicin, and 91, 295, and 955 nm for sorafenib), respectively. Incident Detection Based on Differential Analysis

Internet services and web-based applications play pivotal roles in various sensitive domains, encompassing e-commerce, e-learning, e-healthcare, and e-payment. However, safeguarding these services poses a significant challenge, as the need for robust security measures becomes increasingly imperative. This paper presented an innovative method based on differential analyses to detect abrupt changes in network traffic characteristics. The core concept revolves around identifying abrupt alterations in certain characteristics such as input/output volume, the number of TCP connections, or DNS queries—within the analyzed traffic. Initially, the traffic is segmented into distinct sequences of slices, followed by quantifying specific characteristics for each slice. Subsequently, the distance between successive values of these measured characteristics is computed and clustered to detect sudden changes. To accomplish its objectives, the approach combined several techniques, including propositional logic, distance metrics (e.g., Kullback-Leibler Divergence), and clustering algorithms (e.g., K-means). When applied to two distinct datasets, the proposed approach demonstrates exceptional performance, achieving detection rates of up to 100%.

SeMR: A Framework for Sharing electronic Medical Records Using emerging Technologies

electronic Medical Records (eMRs) play a crucial role in healthcare systems, providing secure, comprehensive medical information and reducing errors. However, they are often fragmented and stored in separate databases owned by different institutions (e.g., hospitals, labs, clinics), posing challenges for healthcare professionals in sharing, preserving, and monitoring patients’ eMRs. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes a framework integrating many new emerging technologies and underscores their pivotal role in revolutionizing eMR systems. In particular, Hyperledger Indy empowers patients with complete authority over their eMRs, while Hyperledger Fabric manages authentication, authorization, and traceability. The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) is used for secure sharing of eMRs. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) achieves real-time monitoring of patients’ health characteristics. Finally, WebAuthn provides strong protection for used cryptographic keys and cryptographic operations.

Dapoxetine is a newer anti-depressant that is used for severe forms of depression via selective serotonin reuptake inhibition *** aimed to evaluate the effect of different doses of dapoxetine lonely or with acetaminophen(AMP).Seven groups of albino rats were used where dapoxetine was administered orally at the doses of 3,5,and 8 mg/kg body weight for a period of 14 days in groups 2,4,and 6,***(67.5 mg/kg body weight)was co-administered with dapoxetine(3,5,and 8 mg/kg body weight)for 14 days in groups 3,5 and 7,*** in mid and high dose plus AMP increased body weight and hematological *** and rearing were declined with mid and high doses of dapoxetine+AMP,contrary to *** was decreased with high doses of dapoxetine+*** dose of dapoxetine+AMP induced lowering of serotonin and dopamine as well as increasing of *** derived neurotrophic factor was decreased in all *** stress biomarkers were augmented with high dose of dapoxetine+*** doses of dapoxetine and/or AMP induced loss of the Purkinje cell layer at *** high dose of dapoxetine+AMP denotes behavioral,histopathological and neurochemical alterations,even though no serotonin syndrome occurs.

Radiation protection knowledge and practices among Moroccan dentists:A cross-sectional study
