Hepatitis C Virus RNA Strands Detection in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Legitimizes Virus Eradication in Negative Serum PCR Naive and Post-treatment Patients

Background and Aims:Occult HCV infections(OCIs)include IgG antibody seronegative cryptogenic(COCIs),as well as seropositive secondary na(i)ve(SNOCIs)and experienced(SEOCIs)*** used peripheral-blood-mononuclear-cell(PBMC)-PCR to evaluate COCIs and SNOCIs prevalence,serum HCV spontaneous disappearance(SCSD)in na(i)ve cirrhotics and non-cirrhotics,intra-PBMC HCV-RNA strands in relation to cirrhosis density in na(i)ve non-viremia cases,and HCV-RNA seroconversion after 1 year of solitary naive intra-PBMC ***:The anti-HCV IgG antibodypositive na(i)ve-patients(n=785)were classified into viremic(n=673)and non-viremic[n=112,including non-cirrhotics(n=55)and cirrhotics(n=57)],and 62 controls without evidence of *** and post-HCV non-viremia cases(n=62+112=174)were submitted to hepatic FibroscanElastography *** subjects(n=847)were screened for intra-PBMC HCV-RNA sense and antisense strands by ***:Na(i)ve-OCI cases(4.84%)that were diagnosed by PBMC-PCR significantly raised the total numbers of HCV-infection to 714(p=0.01).The percent positivity of SNOCIs(34.82%)was significantly higher than for asymptomatic-COCIs(3.125%,p=0.0001).Comparing PBMC-PCR with single-step-reverse-transcription(SRT)-PCR for identification of SCSD in na(i)ve IgG antibody-positive nonviremia patients(n=112)revealed a decline in SCSD prevalence by PBMC-PCR(from 14.27%to 9.3%),regardless of presence of hepatic cirrhosis(p=0.03).SCSD was found to be higher by PBMC-PCR in non-cirrhotics compared to cirrhotics(p=0.0001),with an insignificant difference when using SRT-PCR(p=0.45).Intra-PBMC HCV-RNA infection was significantly more frequent in cirrhotics compared to both non-cirrhotics and controls(p<0.0005).An increased hepatic fibrosis density was recognized in intra-PBMC HCV-RNA infection with sense(p=0.0001)or antisense strand(p=0.003).HCV-RNA seroconversion was associated with intra-PBMC infection when both sense and antisense strands were dete

Lao.7Sr0.3Mnl_xNixO3 （x = 0, 0.025, 0.050 and 0.075） ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method. The partial substitution of Mn by Ni2＋ leads to a decrease in cell volume as well as a structural transition from the rhombohedral to the orthorhombic structure. Ni2＋ doping increases the electrical resistivity, decreases the semiconductor-metal transition temperature （Tms） and relatively enhances the room temperature magnetoresistance （MR）, especially in x = 0.025 and around Tins. With respect to conduction mechanism, the small polaron hopping （SPH） and the variable range hopping （VRH） models were used to ex- amine conduction in the semiconducting region.

Response of slope surface roughness to wave-induced erosion during water level fluctuating

The bank slopes in hydro-fluctuation areas of reservoirs or lakes suffer from severe erosion due to an absence of protection. Waves are one of the important external forces that cause bank erosion and slope failures. However, the processes and quantified impacts of wave-induced erosion on slopes remain unclear under different water level-fluctuation conditions. This paper focuses on the characteristics of wave-induced slope erosion under three conditions: water level dropping(WLD), fixed(WLF) and rising(WLR). A steel tank with glass pane was used to simulate the wave-induced slope erosion in the three treatments. The slope elevation data were collected by using the method of the pin meter for every 15 minutes from the beginning to the end, a total of 5 times during all treatments. These data were processed by using software(SURFER 9.0) to get the slope micro-topography and the erosion volume. Then the temporal and spatial change of slope erosion was analysed according to the erosion amount or erosion rate calculated based on bulk density of slope soil. The results demonstrated that the soil erosion rates for different water level changing treatments are in the following order: WLR>WLD>WLF. For the erosion spatial variation, the middle part of the slope was the major source of sediment in the WLD. The upper part of the slope was the major source of the sediment for the other two treatments. Compared with the standard deviation(SD), the coefficient of variation(CV) based on the SD is more representative of variations in the soil surface roughness(SSR). Furthermore, the good fit between the SSR and soil erosion rate have the potential to be used to predict soil erosion. Above all, the injection angle of the wave determined the rate of erosion to some extent, and the fall-back flow of the wave could also influence the extent of erosion, deposition, and bank morphology. High penetration of renewable sources into conventional power systems results in reduction of system inertia and noticeable low-frequency oscillations (LFOs) in the rotor speed of synchronous generators. In this paper, we propose effective damping of LFOs by incorporating a supplementary damping controller with a photovoltaic (PV) generating station, where the parameters of this controller are coordinated optimally with those of a power system stabilizer (PSS). The proposed method is applied to damp local electromechanical modes by studying a system comprising a synchronous generator and a PV station connected to an infinite bus. The PV station is modeled following the instructions of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council. The problem is modeled as an optimization problem, where the damping ratio of the electromechanical modes is designed as the objective function. Constraints including upper and lower limits of decision parameters and damping ratio of other modes are considered by imposing penalties on the objective function. Different optimization algorithms are used to pursue the optimal design, such as political, improved gray wolves and equilibrium optimizers. The results validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller with PSS in damping local modes of oscillations.

Herein,iron oxide/hydroxides deposits(gossans)were utilized,for the first time,in the fabrication of magnetite nanoparticles(MNPs)to load modified coal(MC).The as-synthesized MNPs@MC composite was characterized via different techniques and utilized for the Cr(Ⅵ)*** studies supported by theoretical treatment were applied to offer a new overview of the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption geometry and mechanism at 25-45℃.Experimental results suggested that the Cr(Ⅵ)uptake was mainly governed by adsorption-reduction coupled *** Langmuir model fitted well the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption data with maximum adsorption capacities extended from 115.24 to 129.63 mg·g^(-1).Theoretical calculations indicated that Cr(Ⅵ)ions were adsorbed on the MNPs@MC following the theory of the advanced monolayer statistical *** number of ions removed per site ranged from 1.88 to1.23 suggesting the involvement of vertical geometry and multi-ionic mechanism at all *** increment of the active sites density and the adsorption capacity at saturation with improving temperature reflected an endothermic ***,the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption was controlled by physical forces as the adsorption energies were less than 40 kJ·mol^(-1).The calculated free enthalpy,*** internal energy explained the spontaneous nature and the viability of Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption on the MNPs@MC *** results offer a new approach in utilizing the iron-rich deposits as gossans in the preparation of magnetic and low-cost adsorbents for wastewater remediation.

Study of Thermal Reactivity and Kinetics of HMX and Its PBX by Different Methods

Vacuum Stability Test(VST)was used to determine the thermal behavior and kinetic parameters of 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine(HMX)and its mixture with hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)as a binder coded as HMX/*** fitting and isoconversional method were applied to determine the kinetic parameters based on VST *** comparison,non-isothermal thermogravimetry analysis data(TGA)was also used to calculate the kinetic parameters by using Kissinger,OFW(Ozawa,Flynn,and Wall)and KAS(Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose)*** Kinetics and Technology Solution(AKTS)software was also used to determine the decomposition kinetics of the studied *** Scanning Calorimetry(DSC)was employed to determine the decomposition heat flow properties of the studied *** show that the activation energies obtained using VST results is 360.1kJ/mol for pure HMX and 186.9kJ/mol for HMX/*** activation energies obtained by the three different methods using TGA results are in the range of 360-368kJ/mol for pure HMX and 190-206kJ/mol for HMX/*** is concluded that values of kinetic parameters obtained by VST are close to that obtained by the different techniques using TG/DTG *** onset decomposition peak of HMX/HTPB is lower than that of HMX where the HTPB binder has negative effect on the thermal stability of *** results of all the applied techniques prove that HMX/HTPB has lower activation energy and heat release than the pure *** polymeric matrix has negative effect on the kinetic parameters of HMX.

Induction of sub-G0 arrest and apoptosis by seed extract of Moringa peregrina（Forssk.） Fiori in cervical and prostate cancer cell lines

Objective: This study investigated cytotoxicity and induction of apoptosis in human cervical cancer cells(HELA) and prostate cancer cells(PC-3) using the most active fraction of Moringa peregrina seed ***: Dried and powdered seeds were extracted using 95% ethanol. The total ethanolic extract was further dissolved in distilled water and separated into petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and aqueous extracts. Based on the results of in vitro anticancer studies of all extracts, the most highly active extract was selected for evaluation of apoptosis induction and cell cycle analysis on HELA and PC-3 cells at its half maximal inhibitory concentration using flow cytometry;DNA fragmentation by agarose gel electrophoresis and the expression of protein were measured by Western ***: The chloroform fraction from the ethanolic extract of M. peregrina(CFEE) was the most active antitumor fraction. The selectivity index, determined using the normal Vero cell line, indicated that CFEE had a high degree of selectivity against HELA and PC-3 cells. CFEE induced apoptosis, confirmed by cell cycle arrest at sub-G0 phase and DNA fragmentation. CFEE induced an increase in mRNA expression of caspase-3, a decrease in Bcl-2 mRNA expression, and decreased ATP levels. CFEE increased protein expression of caspase-3 and decreased protein expression of poly-ADP-ribose polymerase-1(PARP-1).Flow cytometric analysis showed an appreciable increase in the number of cells in the early apoptotic stage in CFEE-treated HELA and PC-3 cells. CFEE treatment significantly increased lipid peroxidation(malondialdehyde level) in HELA and PC-3 ***: Seed extract of M. peregrina displayed a significant antitumor effect through apoptosis induction in HELA and PC-3 cells.
