BK virus (BKV) may cause nephropathy in renal transplant recipients receiving immunosuppressive therapy, resulting in renal dysfunction and, possibly graft loss. However, the positive and negative predictive values of BK viral load are still controversial. In this prospective, single-center study, BKV DNA was measured 1, 3 and 6 months after transplantation. The viral load in urine and plasma was quantified with the real-time Q-PCR (Argen kit) in 73 renal allograft recipients Three of them showed acute rejection. To determine the cutoff value of viral load, 60 sera samples of healthy blood donors, matched for age and sex, were tested. The mean plasmatic viral load one month post-transplantation was statistically higher in renal transplant recipients (17.23 copies/ml) compared to that in controls (2 copies/ml) (p: 0.06). This difference of the distribution of viremia values is more evident in the third and sixth month (p: 0.002 and 0.010 respectively). Furthermore, analysis of the kinetic of viral load revealed an average rise of viremia at 3 months (1589.14 copies/ml) followed by its decrease at 6 months (249.75 copies/ml). However, the difference was not statistically significant. The same is true for the distribution of values of viruria and in all cases the average viral load was statistically higher in urine than in plasma. In addition, this study did not shown significant relationsheep between viremia/viruria and the occurrence of acute rejection, the renal function deterioration, the source of allograft or immunosuppressive therapy protocol. If the results of this study demonstrate the importance of the replication of BKV in renal transplant patients from the first month compared to that in immunocompetent subjects, the screening of the DNA of this virus does not appear to have a prognostic value in the occurrence of acute rejection. The olive is widely cropped in Tunisia where also oleaster trees thrive all around orchards and in natural sites. Little is known on the genetic relationships between the olive crop and oleaster trees in Tunisia. Fifty-two oleaster trees and fifteen cultivars were sampled from Tunisia. SSR genotyping was performed in polyacrylamide gels after fluorescent labeling. We used seven nuclear and two chloroplast SSR markers. AFC analyses showed close genetic relationships between cultivated and oleaster trees. Genetic relationships were also displayed in a dendrogram based on Unweighted Pair Group Method (UPGMA). Five clusters were defined mixing cultivar and oleaster trees suggesting close relationship between some cultivar and some oleaster trees. One oleaster is single in a cluster. The chlorotype SSR markers show probably three olive origins. Some cultivars have the CE chlorotype originates from the East of the Mediterranean basin, the CCK haplotype originates from Maghreb and the COM chlorotype originates from West Mediterranean. The cultivars were 1) introduced from the East;2) selected in the West;3) or selected in the North Africa region. The Tunisian oleaster trees carry eastern and western Mediterranean chlorotype CCK, COM and CE.

We report on the observation of new fluorescence emission spectral transitions obtained from NO diatomic molecule in the region from ultraviolet （UV） to near infrared （NIR） in a low power glow discharge system. This glow discharge electronic excitation populates different quartet and doublet states of NO in its proximity such as the A2Z （/9 = 2）, b4∑- （υ= 3）, B2М （1） = 4）, and X2Л （u= 33-32） states. Due to inter-system crossing, emission lines originating from these levels to lower lying states are recorded and spectral line assignments are performed. The observed systems include b4∑- a4∏, B21∏-a4∏, a4∏-X2I∏, A2∑X2∏, X2∏-X2∏ （33-15）, X2∏-X2∏ （33-17）, X2∏-X2∏ （33-20）, and X2∏-X2∏ （33- 18）. This new information will conduce to the better understanding of the interesting features of NO molecule. Such parameters that affect the recording of low density of NO molecules are also discussed In addition to the factors such as the time evolution, argon gas concentration relative to NO mixture, the percentage of NO molecular gas concentration, discharge electric current signals and discharge applied voltage are studied. Those factors would enhance the fluorescence signal intensity of NO molecules. The recent results might be significant as reference data for optimizing the glow discharge spectrometer and diagnostics of NO gas.

A new colorimetric sensor based-azo dye for Cu^2+ detection was synthesized and characterized by FTIR and NMR spectroscopies. The results showed that the azo dye had a high selective and sensitive recognition toward Cu^2+. The solution containing the sensor changed color from pink to pale yellow with a hypsochromic shift in the presence of Cu^2+. The sensor selectivity and sensitivity toward Cu^2+ ions were investigated by colorimetry and UV-Vis spectroscopy. For practical applications, a cellulosic textile test strip for high-selectivity detection of Cu^2+ ions in aqueous solution was developed using the synthesized azo dye as chromogenic chemosensor molecule, while using a solid cellulose textile as a substrate. As a result, a spectacular color change of the test strip was observed do pending on the amount of copper ions in contact with the strip, which allows an estimation of Cu^2+ concentration by naked eye.

The development of orogenic belts structures in the Southern-Central Tunisian Atlas is influenced by the evolution of tectonic activities during different phases,which are also closely linked to the formation of gravitational collapse *** typical example is that of the northern flank of the Jebel Orbata particularly the ben Zannouch *** is an asymmetrical anticline interpreted by the model of“Fault Propagation Folds”.The development of the ben Zannouch structures is resulted from landslides,scree falls and inverted layers plunging to the *** direction of resulted gravitational structure is parallel to the main thrust direction of the Bou Omrane *** thrust activity of Bou Omrane fault is associated to the important paleo-slope facing south and plastic lithology(incompetent marl layers)of outcropped series,facilitates the development of the ben Zannouch Flap *** definition of gravitational collapse structures for the first time in Tunisia particularly in the northern flank of the Jebel Orbata is controlled by many principal structural conditions:fragmentation of the landslide surfaces,rheology and *** regional factors can be distinguished in the Southern-Central Tunisian Atlas as the seismic activity of the pre-existing Gafsa fault reactivated during compressive phases and the weather conditions during the postglacial period.

Rathke cleft cysts are benign sellar lesions that are generally asymptomatic. Rathke cleft cyst can enlarge and become symptomatic. Surgical therapy is the mainstay of treatment for symptomatic RCC. The optimal surgical strategy remains debatable. We report our experience with this lesion and we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each technique through a literature review.

The chemical composition and antimicrobial potential of Cistus munbyi essential oil were studied for the first time. GC and GC–MS analysis revealed 48 compounds representing 96.98% of the oil. Terpinen-4-ol(23.75%), meta-Cymene(17.30%), and Sabinene(12.38%)were the major constituents. Antimicrobial activity was evaluated against nine pathogens using the disc diffusion and broth micro-dilution methods. Results show that *** essential oil possesses strong antimicrobial activity against all strains, regardless if Gram-positive or Gramnegative bacteria, or yeast, with MICs values not exceeding10(mg/ml). In addition to its efficacy, C. munbyi essential oil has an unusual antimicrobial potency which is attributed to its specific chemical composition. Thus, findings presented here suggest that endemic C. munbyi contains a very interesting essential oil that may be valuable in several areas.
