Oxidative Stress, Biochemical and Histopathological Alterations in the Liver and Kidney of Female Rats Exposed to Low Doses of Deltamethrin (DM):A Molecular Assessment

Objective To evaluate histopathological alterations of the liver and kidney of female rats exposed to low doses of DM and its potential genotoxic activity. Methods Female Wistar rats were randomly assigned to control （3 groups, 6 rats in each） and treatment groups （3 groups, 6 rats in each）. They were subjected to subcutaneous injections of DM （at doses of 0.003, 0.03, and 0.3 mg/kg bw/d） after 30, 45, and 60 d, respectively. Results Significant alterations were recorded in liver parenchyma induced by hepatic vacuolization, fragmented chromatin in nuclei, dilatation of sinusoids and congestions. Lesions within proximal and distal tubules were observed in the kidneys. Tissue congestions and severe alterations within glomeruli were visible. DM as a pyrethroid insecticide induced significant increase （P〈_O.05） of plasma MDA concentrations after 45 d. A significant increase （P_〈0.05） in plasma ALT （after 45 and 60 d） and AST （after 60 d） concentrations was recorded as compared to controls. During the whole experimental period the toxic agent provoked significant DNA damages （P〈0.05）, especially in the dominance of classes 3 and 4 of obtained comet. Conclusion DM even at a very low dose displays harmful effects by disrupting hepatic and renal function and causing DNA damages in puberscent female rats. Low doses of DM are hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic.

Assessment of LV Function in Children with Wilson’s Disease: Speckle Tracking Imaging Study

Background and Objective: Wilson’s disease is a genetic disorder of copper metabolism that affects liver and other organs including heart. In early stages of myocardial affection, the left ventricle (LV) appears apparently normal when evaluated by traditional two-dimensional (2D) echocardiography. The aim of this study was to detect subclinical LV dysfunction in children with Wilson’s disease using 2D speckle tracking echocardiography. Patients and Methods: Twenty children with Wilson’s disease were compared with age- and sex-matched 20 healthy children. All subjects were evaluated by traditional 2D echocardiography and speckle tracking echocardiography. Results: There were no significant differences between patients and controls regarding conventional echo parameters except for lower E mitral flow and E' annular septal peak velocity in patient group. The regional peak longitudinal strain of apical 4 chamber view was -17.8% ± 4.2% in patients and -20.1% ± 2.3 % in control subjects (P = 0.043), and for apical 2 chambers view, it was -20.1%± 3.6% in patients and -22.6% ± 3.4% in control subjects (P = 0.034) and it was -18% ± 3.5% in patients and -20.5% ± 3.2% in control subjects (P = 0.025) in apical long axis view. The global peak longitudinal strain was also lower in patients than control group (18.3% ± 3.2%, and 20.85% ± 2.4%) respectively (P = 0.014). There were no significant differences between both groups regarding circumferential and radial strains (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Despite apparently normal LV systolic function, the children with Wilson’s disease demonstrated significantly lower peak longitudinal strain as an indicator for early affection of LV systolic function.

The Relationship between Serum Pentraxin-3 Levels and Severity of Coronary Heart Disease

Background: Clinical data suggested that pentraxin-3 is a biomarker for atherosclerosis due to its role in inflammatory processes since it exerts unfavorable effects on the course of atherosclerosis, stimulates plaque formation, and augments vascular inflammation. Objective: The aims of this study were to measure the level of serum pentraxin-3 in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) and to determine whether it was associated with the severity of CAD. Material and Methods: The serum pentraxin-3 level was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 80 patients who were referred for elective coronary angiography due to positive stress test results. SYNTAX score was used to determine the severity of CAD. Results: The study cohort consisted of 45 (56.25%) males and 35 (43.75%) females with a mean age of 55 ± 9.8 years. The mean serum pentraxin-3 level was 3.79 ± 1.38 ng/ml, and the mean SYNTAX score was 15.8 ± 11.3. A significant correlation was observed between pentraxin-3 level and SYNTAX score (r = 0.459, p - 32 or ≤22 (p = 0.002). Conclusion: The serum level of inflammatory marker pentraxin-3 is increased in patients with CAD and is correlated with the severity of CAD.

Association between Pentraxin-3 and Cardiac Troponin-I with Left Ventricular Systolic Function in Patients with Anterior ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction: Evaluation by Speckle Tracking Echocardiography

Background: Pentraxin 3 is an inflammatory biomarker whose serum level is increased during acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The aim of this study was to measure the serum pentraxin-3 level in anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), to investigate correlation with the left ventricular (LV) systolic function assessed by speckle tracking echocardiography, and compare with the well-established cardiac biomarkers of myocardial injury such as troponin-I. Methods: Serum pentraxin-3 level was measured by ELISA in 50 patients with anterior STEMI. LV strain was measured by speckle tracking echocardiography. The results were compared to twenty sex- and age-matched persons who had history of stable angina and normal LV ejection fraction (LVEF). Results: Serum level of pentraxin-3 was significantly higher in STEMI patients in comparison to the control group (8.3 ± 3.1 versus 3.4 ± 1.2 ng/ml, p 0.001). Average LV global longitudinal strain (GLS) was reduced in STEMI patients in comparison to control subjects (11.2 ± 2.4 versus 20.2 ± 2.1, p 0.001). In addition, there was a significant negative correlation between serum pentraxin-3 level and LVEF (r = -0.557, p 0.001) and the average LVGLS (r =-0.529, p 0.001). Serum pentraxin-3 cutoff value > 8.3 ng/ml had sensitivity of 81.8% and specificity of 86.4% to detect LVEF less than 50% (p 0.001). While, peak cardiac troponin-I level > 34 ng/ml was 86% sensitive to detect LVEF less than 50% with specificity of 90.9%. Conclusions: The elevated serum level of pentraxin-3 and cardiac troponin-I in STEMI patients and their association with both LVEF and GLS support the concept that the magnitude of these biomarkers correlates to the severity of myocardium injury.

Explanation of Magnetic Destruction of Superconductor Using Schrodinger Equation in the Energy Space

The Wave function of Schrodinger Equation is expressed in terms of time dependent energy eigen function and spatial dependent wave function in the energy space, which gives spatial energy probability. This equation is utilized to find quantum momentum dependent on temperature. This in turn is used to find quantum complex resistance. This expression shows that the superconducting resistance vanishes for temperatures less than a certain critical value. This result conforms to superconductor conventional theory and empirical relations. The application of external magnetic field destroys superconductivity when its strength exceeds a certain critical value. The expression of the relationship between the critical magnetic field and the critical temperature is typical to the conventional one. This is the first time to obtain the conventional relationship for the superconductor’s resistance and critical magnetic field in one model in the energy space.

The Gravitomagnetic and Field Magnetic Centrifugal Force Using Force and Four-Dimensional Potential Concepts

Unification of fundamental forces is the dream of physics. Nevertheless, unfortunately gravitational force operators to be isolated in its geometrical content from other forces. This encourages some researchers to propose the so-called gravimagnetic field to unify gravity with other forces and to explain some cosmological problems at the early universe. This motivates to construct a new model to confirm the existence of gravitomagnetic and a corresponding magnetic field associated with any field. Using the formal Newton definition of force and considering the magnetic force to be related to the time varying mass, the magnetic force is shown to be equal to the centrifugal force. This equality is typical when treating a particle as string. Using also the definition of force in terms of potential and electric force only, energy is shown to be conserved. The Newton force can be defined also in terms of four-dimensional potential with the time varying part related to the magnetic potential. When the particle is treated as a string, energy conservation holds, while for ordinary particle, the Lagrangian is conserved. The energy conservation holds for special relativity also for energy per unit mass. The definition of acceleration for forces that obeys inverse square law shows also the magnetic force is equal to the centrifugal force.

Desertification has become a global threat and caused a crisis,especially in Middle Eastern countries,such as Saudi *** is one of the most important cities in Saudi Arabia that needs to be protected from *** vegetation area in Makkah has been damaged because of desertification through wind,floods,overgrazing,and global climate *** damage caused by desertification can be recovered provided urgent action is taken to prevent further degradation of the vegetation *** this paper,we propose an automatic desertification detection system based on Deep Learning *** images are classified using Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)to detect land state variation in *** have been widely used for computer vision applications,such as image classification,image segmentation,and quality *** proposed CNN model was trained and evaluated on the Arial Image Dataset(AID).Compared to state-of-the-art methods,the proposed model has better performance while being suitable for embedded *** has achieved high efficiency with 96.47% *** light of the current research,we assert the appropriateness of the proposed CNN model in detecting desertification from aerial images.

Accurate PV system simulators are implemented with expensive software platforms using paid irradiance *** main purpose of this paper is to develop and validate a PV system simulator,beginning with a solar cell parameter extraction model,then test and validate long-termIrradiance data using free online source(Typical Meteorological Year TMY in(PVGIS)European website),and finally building full solar generator simulator to run in working real *** results with Accurate Paid PV simulators(which use theMuneer model)showed good accuracy of the proposed *** flow starts with the Irradiance model’s data processing,then solar cell 5 parameters model data processing(to extract cell parameters),and finally full system *** coding programs in real working conditions are used for *** of solar cell parameter extraction show 99.6%to 99.99%matching with data sheet and cell performance under standard test *** simulation output shows 8%less yearly generated energy compared to the PVGIS 2022 long-term simulation(hourly basis(one-year time)).This is due to incident energy variations(between the years 2016 and 2022)of 4.02%.The novelty of the algorithm is the methodology,as it tests irradiance data on an hourly basis and validates results for a whole continuous ***,the 5-parameter solar cell model is used to be validated in long term analysis,not only STC conditions and could be applied on any PV solar *** algorithm and block diagramused are scalable,modular,and interchangeable with similarmodels to be *** simulator could test severalmethods andmodels in solar pv technology.

An Efficient Text Recognition System from Complex Color Image for Helping the Visually Impaired Persons

The challenge faced by the visually impaired persons in their day-today lives is to interpret text from *** this context,to help these people,the objective of this work is to develop an efficient text recognition system that allows the isolation,the extraction,and the recognition of text in the case of documents having a textured background,a degraded aspect of colors,and of poor quality,and to synthesize it into *** system basically consists of three algorithms:a text localization and detection algorithm based on mathematical morphology method(MMM);a text extraction algorithm based on the gamma correction method(GCM);and an optical character recognition(OCR)algorithm for text recognition.A detailed complexity study of the different blocks of this text recognition system has been *** this study,an acceleration of the GCM algorithm(AGCM)is *** AGCM algorithm has reduced the complexity in the text recognition system by 70%and kept the same quality of text recognition as that of the original *** assist visually impaired persons,a graphical interface of the entire text recognition chain has been developed,allowing the capture of images from a camera,rapid and intuitive visualization of the recognized text from this image,and text-to-speech *** text recognition system provides an improvement of 6.8%for the recognition rate and 7.6%for the F-measure relative to GCM and AGCM algorithms.
