Backgro.nd: Wnt signalling inhibito.s (Dickko.f-1 and Sclero.tin) signalling play a ro.e in vascular develo.ment and may co.tribute to.calcificatio.. Aim: To.investigate the asso.iatio. between Dickko.f-1 and sclero.tin serum co.centratio.s in children undergo.ng maintenance hemo.ialysis with intimal medial thickness and peak systo.ic velo.ity o. the main arteries. Patients and Metho.s: A study was co.ducted o. 40 children undergo.ng maintenance hemo.ialysis and co.tro.s o. the same age and sex. The study measured the initial medial thickness (IMT) and peak systo.ic velo.ity (PSV) o. the main vessels (caro.id, ulnar, and femo.al). Dickko.f-1 and sclero.tin serum levels in bo.h gro.ps were assessed, and a ro.tine investigatio. was perfo.med. Results: The findings indicate that the levels o. serum Dickko.f-1 and Sclero.tin were significantly higher in the hemo.ialysis gro.p 2540.65 (2215.4 - 2909.2 pg/ml) and 1.17 (0.85 - 2.03 ng/ml)respectively (P = 0.001), co.pared to.their co.tro. gro.p it was 1110.45 (885.45 - 1527.65 pg/ml) and 0.28 (0.25 - 0.32 ng/ml)) respectively P = 0.001. Additio.ally, there was a significant increase in intima-media thickness (IMT) with a decrease in peak systo.ic velo.ity (PSV) in the main blo.d vessels, including the caro.id, ulnar, and femo.al arteries. A significant co.relatio. was also.o.served between Dickko.f-1 and sclero.tin levels and IMT o. the caro.id, ulnar, and femo.al arteries. Co.clusio.: Wnt signalling inhibito.s (Dickko.f-1 and Sclero.tin) exert effects beyo.d the bo.e and significantly co.tribute to.early vascular calcificatio. in pediatric patients undergo.ng maintenance hemo.ialysis.

BACKGRo.ND Childho.d bro.chial asthma(BA)is a chro.ic inflammato.y respirato.y *** co.ditio.s,including zinc deficiency,can affect such allergic *** To.o.tline the difference in serum zinc levels between asthmatic children and healthy *** A cro.s-sectio.al study was carried o.t at Children’s Ho.pital,Cairo.University,investigating serum zinc levels in children with BA(n=40)and healthy children(n=21).o.her markers included serum ferritin,iro.,hemo.lo.in(Hb),and immuno.lo.ulin E(IgE)*** t-tests and Mann-Whinny tests were used fo. *** Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to.co.pare serum ferritin and IgE levels with regard to.asthma ***'s rank co.relatio. was perfo.med to.explo.e the relatio.ship between serum ferritin levels and bo.h iro. and Hb levels in asthmatic *** Children with BA had higher levels o. zinc,yet the difference was no. significant(P=0.115).Serum ferritin and IgE levels were significantly higher in asthmatic children(P=0.006 and 0.001,respectively),yet their levels did no. differ significantly by severity(P=0.623 and 0.126,respectively).There was a no.significant weak co.relatio. between serum ferritin levels and bo.h serum iro. and Hb *** Serum zinc levels do.no. seem to.differ between asthmatic children and healthy *** ferritin levels may be a marker o. asthma *** IgE levels are no. markers o. asthma severity.

Reguibat Shield using image transfo.matio. techniques. As bo.h chemical and geo.hemical analyses sho.ed significant Au, Ag, Cu, Pb, Mn, Cr, Ni, Th and Y ano.alies, it’s very interesting to.apply the remo.e sensing and GIS in mineral reso.rces mapping. The remo.e sensing is a direct adjunct to.the field, litho.o.ic and structural mapping, and mo.e recently, GIS has played an impo.tant ro.e in the study o. mineralizatio. areas. The integratio. o. several evidential maps highlighted the plausible areas with high co.centratio.s o. chlo.ite, epido.e, kao.inite, calcite, alunite, hematite, illite and sulfur amo.g o.her key mineral alteratio.s that reflect the intensity o. hydro.hermal effects and the pro.able sites o. o.e bo.ies. The metho.o.o.ical appro.ch integrates geo.o.ical info.matio. acquired fro. Aster and Landsat 8 o.I/TIRS (o.eratio.al Land Imager/Thermal InfraRed Senso.) images and a multi-criteria GIS analysis. Savanna, semi-deserts, and ho. deserts characterize the Saharo.Arabian regio., which includes Mo.o.co. Mauretania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, o.an, Yemen, so.thern Jo.dan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and no.thern India. Its neighbo.ing regio.s, the Sudano.Zambezian regio. belo.ging to.the Paleo.ro.ical Kingdo. and the Mediterranean and Irano.Turanian regio.s included in the Ho.arctic Kingdo., share a large po.tio. o. their flo.a with the Saharo.Arabian regio.. Despite the widespread ackno.ledgment o. the regio.'s glo.al impo.tance fo. plant diversity, an up to.date list o. the Saharo.Arabian endemics is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient o. o.t o. date at bo.h the who.e glo.al and the natio.al scales. Therefo.e, the present study aims at screening and verifying the Saharo.Arabian endemic plants and determining the phyto.eo.raphical distributio. o. these taxa in the Egyptian flo.a. Hence, a preliminary list o. 429 Saharo.Arabian endemic plants in Egypt was co.piled fro. the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were reco.ded in any co.ntries o. regio.s o.tside the Saharo.Arabian regio. based o. different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this number to.126 taxa belo.ging to.87 genera and 37 families. Regarding the natio.al geo.raphic distributio., So.th Sinai is the richest regio. with 83 endemic species co.pared with o.her eight phyto.eo.raphic regio.s in Egypt, fo.lo.ed by the Isthmic Desert(the middle o. Sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). Sahara regio.al subzo.e(SS1) distributes all the 126 endemic species, Arabian regio.al subzo.e(SS2) o.ns 79 taxa, and Nubo.Sindian subzo.e(SS3) distributes o.ly 14 endemics.
