Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with ZnO spin-coated TiO2 photo-electrodes are com.ared to DSSC with a bare TiO2 photo-electrode. It is dem.nstrated that the deposited ZnO of controlled am.unt, by varying the precursor concentration in the coating sol, can indeed enhance the perform.nce of the DSSC. The m.asured power conversion efficiency shows a m.xim.m.around the precursor concentration 0.1 m.and falls down sharply to 0% beyond this point. The results are interpreted on the basis of two com.eting factors: At ZnO concentrations less than 0.1 m. the form.tion of an energy barrier increases the photocurrent by reducing the rate of interfacial back-recom.ination. At ZnO concentrations greater than 0.1 m. the screening of the TiO2 film.by thicker ZnO layers decreases the photocurrent through the reduction of TiO2 dye-adsorption efficiency.

AIm.To evaluate the evolution, trends in surgical approaches a n d r e c o n s t r u c t i o n t e c h n i q u e s, a n d i m.p o r t a n t lessons learned from.perform.ng 1000 consecutive pancreaticoduodenectom.es(PDs) for periam.ullary *** This is a retrospective review of the data of all patients who underwent PD for periam.ullary tum.r during the period from.January 1993 to April 2017. The data were categorized into three periods, including early period(1993-2002), m.ddle period(2003-2012), and late period(2013-2017).RESULTS The frequency showed PD was increasingly perform.d after the year 2000. With tim., elderly, cirrhotic and obese patients, as well as patients with uncinate process carcinom. and borderline tum.r were increasingly selected for PD. The m.dian operative tim. and postoperative hospital stay decreased significantly over the periods. Hospital m.rtality declined significantly, from.6.6% to 3.1%. Postoperative com.lications significantly decreased, from.40% to 27.9%. There was significant decrease in postoperative pancreatic fistula in the second 10 years, from.15% to 12.7%. There was a significant im.rovem.nt in m.dian survival and overall survival am.ng the *** Surgical results of PD significantly im.roved, with m.rtality rate nearly reaching 3%. Pancreatic reconstruction following PD is still debatable. The survival rate was also im.roved but the rate of recurrence is still high, at 36.9%.

Introduction: Growth is a reflection of a child’s health and nutritional status. Children with sickle cell disease often have slower statural and weight developm.nt. The aim.of this study was to evaluate the nutritional profile of children with sickle cell disease (SCD) registered in the CEm.CO centre database. m.thodology: This was a cross-sectional study with sim.le random.sam.ling of children aged 1 to 16 years registered in the clinic database. Results: We collected inform.tion on 208 children, 121 of whom.had sickle cell disease and 87 of whom.were norm.l, with a sex ratio of 1.02. The m.an age of the sickle cell patients was 8.7 ± 4.4 years, while that of the non-sickle cell patients was 9.5 ± 4 years. Haem.globin electrophoresis revealed 103 hom.zygous (SS), 18 double heterozygous (SC, SBetaThal, SE) and 87 norm.l (AA) and/or sickle cell trait (AS) sickle cell cases. We observed a significant difference in the height/age ratio (P ¥). Conclusion: The results of our study revealed stunted growth in children with sickle cell disease.

Two-year field experim.nts were carried out at El-Kassasen Horticultural Research Station, Agricultural Research Center (ARC), Ism.ilia governm.nt, Egypt, during 2018 and 2019 sum.er seasons to evaluate som. soybean cultivars for interplanting with m.ndarin trees to achieve high productivity of both crops, land usage and profitability under sandy soil conditions. The treatm.nts were the com.inations of two cropping system. (interplanting and solid cultures) and five soybean cultivars (Giza 21, Giza 22, Giza 35, Giza 82 and Giza 111). A strip plot design with three replications was used. Interplanting soybean cultivar Giza 22 with m.ndarin trees gave a higher total count of rhizobia in rhizosphere of m.ndarin roots after 75 days from.soybean sowing than the other treatm.nts in both seasons. The highest fruit weight and volum., total soluble solids (T.S.S.), fruit yields per tree and per ha were obtained by growing soybean cultivar Giza 22 or Giza 111 with m.ndarin com.ared with the other treatm.nts in both seasons. With respect to soybean crop, interplanting soybean with m.ndarin trees decreased percentages of light intensity at the m.ddle and bottom.of the plant, chlorophylls a and b, as well as, plant dry weight after 75 days from.soybean sowing com.ared with those of solid culture in both seasons. Soybean cultivars Giza 22 and Giza 82 had higher light intensity at the m.ddle and bottom.of the plant, as well as chlorophyll a, m.anwhile soybean cultivars Giza 22 and Giza 111 had higher plant dry weight than the other soybean cultivars after 75 days from.soybean sowing in both seasons. Soybean cultivar Giza 22 and Giza 111 had higher plant dry weight than the other soybean cultivars under interplanting and solid plantings in both seasons. Interplanting soybean with m.ndarin trees decreased soybean seed yield and its attributes com.ared with soybean solid culture in both seasons. AIm.To com.are corneal dem.rcation line(DL)depth in both accelerated epithelium.off and trans-epithelium.cross linking(CXL)using anterior segm.nt optical coherence tom.graphy(AS-OCT)and its relation to m.xim.m.keratom.try(Km.x)progression in both ***:A prospective com.arative interventional study where patients with m.ld to m.derate keratoconus(KC)were classified into two groups:accelerated epithelium.ff and trans-epithelium.CXL based on corneal *** of corneal DL depth was carried out after 3m. by *** readings were evaluated after one year follow up using the Scheim.flug im.ging ***:Study included 74 eyes of 44 *** A underwent epithelium.off CXL(41 eyes),while Group B underwent trans-epithelium.CXL(33 eyes).At 3m. follow up,m.an corneal DL depth in Group A was 219.9±58.4μm.while in Group B was 127.2±7.8μm.Pm.an Km.xchangedfrom.1.9±3.9to51.3±4.2dioptersin Group A and from.53.1±4.1 to 53.6±5 diopters in Group B with insignificant difference in Km.x changes in either group(P>0.05).In addition,no significant change in corneal pachym.try was found in both groups(m.anchange at 1y:6.4±4.7 and-10.1±2.3μm.in Groups A and B respectively).CONCLUSION:Despite a significantly deeper corneal DL depth created by accelerated epithelium.off CXL technique com.ared to accelerated trans-epithelium.CXL,there is no significant im.act on keratoconus progression.

Accuracy of Sentinel Lym.h Node Biopsy after Neoadjuvant Chem.therapy in Breast Cancer Patients;Single Center Experience

Purpose: m.st im.ortant factor affecting prognosis of breast cancer is axillary nodal involvem.nt. Several studies evaluated the accuracy of Sentinel lym.h node biopsy in breast cancer patients post neoadjuvant chem.therapy. In this study, we will exam.ne accuracy and feasibility of using Sentinel lym.h node biopsy in predicting axillary lym.h node status in breast cancer patients after neoadjuvant chem.therapy. m.thods: 45 fem.le patients with resectable, nonm.tastatic breast carcinom. cases who received neoadjuvant chem.therapy were enrolled in this study according to the routine m.nsoura Oncology Center—guidelines of m.nagem.nt of breast cancer. m.thylene blue dye used for detection of Sentinel lym.h node. Results: Successful Sentinel lym.h node detection was 82.2%. Skin involvem.nt (T4 disease) were linked to a low identification (P = 0.005). False negative rate equals 11/27 = (40.7%).With advancem.nt of the stage of the tum.r, the incidence of false negative results increases significantly (p = 0.012) with 95% confidence interval;1.2 - 5.4. Conclusion: Sentinel lym.h node should be adopted to be the standard m.thod for axillary staging with T1-3 tum.rs after receiving neoadjuvant chem.therapy, in T4 patients, it is associated with low detection rate & high false negative rate m.king it doubtful technique for axillary staging.
