Reacti.n of acetylacetone wi.h 1 mole of di.ethylformami.e di.ethyl acetal (DMFDMA) affords enami.e 2a whi.h reacts wi.h cyanothi.acetami.e to gi.e pyri.i.ethi.ne 3a. Pyri.i.ethi.ne 3a reacts wi.h methyl i.di.e, halogenated compounds, aromati. aldehyde and malononi.ri.e/elemental sulfur to yi.ed compounds 7-10 respecti.ely. Reacti.ns of thi.ether 7 i. ethanoli. K2CO3, 1 mole DMFDMA and 4-(di.ethylami.o)benzaldehyde gi.e compounds 11, 13, 14 respecti.ely. Enami.one 12 can be prepared by reacti.n of compound 11 wi.h DMFDMA. We have demonstrated some reacti.ns i. order to show the potenti.l usefulness of the prepared compounds for the preparati.n of new bi.yri.yl compounds 15, 16, 18, bi.ycli. compounds 17 and uncommon tri.ycli. compounds 20, 21, 22 and 23 respecti.ely usi.g DMFDMA.

Thi. paper i. i.vesti.ati.g the use of composi.e armour rei.forced by nanomateri.ls, for the protecti.n of li.ht armoured(LAV) and medi.m armoured mi.i.ary vehi.les(MAV), and the i.teracti.n between the composi.e materi.ls and hi.h-performance balli.ti. projecti.es. Four armour materi.ls, consi.ted of front hybri. fi.re rei.forced polymer cover layer, cerami. stri.e-face, fi.re rei.forced polymer i.termedi.te layer and the metal matri. composi.e rei.forced backplate, were manufactured and assembled by adhesi.e technology. The proposed lami.ated protecti.n system i. sui.able for armoured ground vehi.les;however, i. could be used as armour on ground, ai. and naval platforms. The desi.n of the protecti.n system, i.cludi.g materi.l selecti.n and thi.kness, was elaborated dependi.g on the performance requi.ements of Level 4 + STANAG 4569 mi.i.ary standard(projecti.e 14.5 mm × 114 mm APi.B32) and especi.lly on a desi.n phi.osophy whi.h i. analysed wi.h the speci.i.ati.ns. The backplate of thi. new composi.e i. a hybri. materi.l of Metal Matri. Composi.e(MMC) rei.forced wi.h carbon nanotubes(CNTs), manufactured wi.h the use of powder metallurgy techni.ue. The composi.e backplate materi.l was morphologi.ally, mechani.ally and chemi.ally analysed. Results show that all plates are presenti.g hi.h mechani.al properti.s and balli.ti. characteri.ti.s, compared to commonly used armour plates. Real mi.i.ary balli.ti. tests accordi.g to AEP-STANAG 4569 were carri.d out for the total composi.e armour systems. After the balli.ti. tests, AA2024-CNT3 showed the best protecti.n results, compared wi.h the other plates(AA2024-CNT1 and AA2024-CNT2), wi.h the projecti.e bei.g unable to fully penetrate the composi.e plate.
