Twenty-four ri.e genotypes were exami.ed to assess geneti. vari.bi.i.y,heri.abi.i.y,and correlati.ns for seven-grai. quali.y trai.s,ei.ht nutri.i.nal elements,and *** revealed si.ni.cant di.ferences for the quali.y trai.s *** every trai. under study,the phenotypi. coefﬁci.nt of vari.ti.n was hi.her than the correspon-dence genotypi. coefﬁci.nt of *** i. a broad sense vari.d from 29.75%for grai. length to 98.31%for the elongati.n *** percentage recovery had a hi.hly si.ni.cant posi.i.e correlati.n wi.h mi.li.g and head ri.e ***,mi.li.g percentage had a hi.hly posi.i.e correlati.n wi.h head ri.e *** amylose percentage,all the genotypes belonged to low amylose except the Hassawi.1 vari.ty,whi.h had i.termedi.te amylose *** nutri.i.n contents of magnesi.m(Mg),sodi.m(Na),potas-si.m(K),calci.m(Ca),copper(Cu),manganese(Mn),zi.c(Zn),i.on(Fe),or protei. percentage gave di.ferent vari.ti.ns for 24 ri.e genotypes under all the nutri.i.nal *** the 24 genotypes,ten ri.e genotypes–Hi.hNutri.nt-1,Hi.hNutri.nt-2,Hi.hNutri.nt-9,Hi.hNutri.nt-8,Hi.hNutri.nt-3,Hassawi.2,Hi.hNutri.nt-7,Hi.hNutri.nt-6,Hassawi.1,and Hi.hNutri.nt-4–had the hi.hest hei.t value for all nutri.i.nal and protei. con-tents,and could be used as a donor to i.provi.g new *** was a posi.i.e and si.ni.cant correlati.n between magnesi.m Mg,K,Zn and ***,K had a posi.i.e correlati.n wi.h zi.c Zn,Fe,and protei. *** analysi. was di.i.ed i.to two groups:theﬁrst group i.cluded all genotypes ri.h i. nutri.ents,whi.e the remai.i.g genotypes wi.h low nutri.i.nal content were i.cluded i. the second group.

i.troducti.n: Vascular endotheli.l growth factor-C (VEGF-C) i. the pri.ary lymphangi.geni. factor that sti.ulates lymphangi.genesi. by si.nali.g vi. speci.i. receptor, vascular endotheli.l growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR3). Thi. study was conducted to evaluate the change i. the level of VEGF-C before and after autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell transplantati.n for treatment of Lower li.b lymphedema. Pati.nt and methods: Forty pati.nts wi.h lower li.b lymphedema were di.i.ed i.to two groups. Group i.i.cluded 20 pati.nts wi.h chroni. lower li.b lymphedema who underwent autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell transplantati.n. Group i. i.cluded 20 pati.nts wi.h chroni. lower li.b lymphedema who were exposed only to compressi.n therapy as a control group. VEGF-C level i. the di.eased li.bs was measured i. both groups at the begi.ni.g of the study then 3 and 6 months respecti.ely. Results: Group i.i.cluded 20 pati.nts, 8 pati.nts were male (40%) and 12 pati.nts were females (60%) wi.h mean age 29.5 ± 12.15 whi.e group i. i.cluded 20, 10 pati.nts were male (50%) and 10 pati.nts were females (50%) wi.h mean age 39.5 ± 11.5. i. group i. the speci.ens were taken at 3 and 6 months after transplantati.n showed a marked decrease i. the VEGF-C level wi.h stati.ti.ally si.ni.i.ant p value, 0.02 and 0.001 respecti.ely. i. group i. the level of VEGF-C after compressi.n therapy alone at 3 and 6 months i.terval showed fluctuati.n wi.h stati.ti.ally non-si.ni.i.ant p value, 0.64 and 0.55 respecti.ely. Conclusi.n: VEGF-C i. essenti.l for regulati.n of lymphangi.genesi.. The level of VEGF-C was found elevated i. pati.nts wi.h lymphedema and decrease after autologous mononuclear bone marrow cells, however these results were stati.ally non-si.ni.i.ant.

Bi.char i. a carbon-ri.h product obtai.ed by bi.mass pyrolysi. and consi.ered a mean of carbon sequestrati.n. i. thi. research, a sandy calcareous soi. from the Farm of the College of Food & Agri.ulture Sci.nces, Ki.g Saud Uni.ersi.y, Saudi.Arabi., was amended wi.h ei.her woody waste of Conocarpus erectus L.(CW) or the bi.char(BC) produced from CW at rates of 0(control), 10, 30 and 50 g kg-1. The effects of the amendments on soi. p H, di.solved organi. carbon(DOC), mi.robi.l bi.mass carbon(MBC), CO2 emi.si.n and metaboli. quoti.nt(q CO2) of the sandy calcareous soi. were studi.d i. a 60-d i.cubati.n experi.ent. The results showed that the addi.i.n of CW led to a si.ni.i.ant decrease i. soi. p H compared to the control and the addi.i.n of BC. The CO2-C emi.si.n rate was hi.her i. the fi.st few days of i.cubati.n than when the i.cubati.n ti.e progressed. The cumulati.e CO2-C emi.si.n from the soi. amended wi.h CW, especi.lly at hi.her rates, was hi.her(approxi.ately 3- to 6-fold) than that from the control and the soi. amended wi.h BC. The BC-amended soi. showed si.ni.i.ant i.creases i. CO2-C emi.si.n rate duri.g the fi.st days of i.cubati.n as compared to the non-amended soi., but the i.crease i. cumulati.e CO2-C emi.si.n was not si.ni.i.ant after 60 d of i.cubati.n. On the other hand, CW appli.ati.ns resulted i. consi.erably hi.her cumulati.e CO2-C emi.si.n, MBC and DOC than the control and BC appli.ati.ns. Wi.h the excepti.n of 0 day(after 1 h of i.cubati.n), both CW and BC appli.ati.ns led to lower values of q CO2 as compared to the control. The power functi.n ki.eti. model sati.factori.y descri.ed the cumulati.e CO2-C emi.si.n. Generally, the lowest values of CO2 emi.si.n were observed i. the soi. wi.h BC, suggesti.g that the contri.uti.n of BC to CO2 emi.si.n was very small as compared to that of CW.

Egypti.n beach i.meni.e occurs i. a relati.ely hi.h content i. the naturally hi.hly concentrated superfi.i.l black sand deposi.s at speci.i. beach zones i. the northern parts of the Ni.e Delta at Rosetta. Mi.roscopi. study shows that the i.meni.e occurs as fresh homogeneous black or heterogeneous multi.oloured altered grai.s and exhi.i.s three types （homogeneous, exsolved and altered） of i.meni.e vari.ti.s. XRD data of i.meni.e i.di.ates thei. associ.ti.n wi.h mi.or hemati.e and quartz, whereas leucoxene shows i.s associ.ti.n wi.h Nb-rutUe, pseudoruti.e and hemati.e. Grai. si.e di.tri.uti.n suggests a very fi.e sand si.e of 〉89% and 80% and a fi.e sand si.e of 10.5% and 18.3% for fresh and altered i.meni.es, respecti.ely. The densi.y of fresh, altered i.meni.e and leucoxene concentrates vari.s from 2.70, 2.50 to 2.40 ton/m^3, suggesti.g a gradual decrease from hi.h grade fresh to leucoxene and consi.tent wi.h vari.ti.n i. magneti. suscepti.i.i.y as a consequence of the leachi.g of i.on. Mass magneti. suscepti.i.i.y reveals 97.6% of i.meni.e and 92% of the altered form are obtai.ed at 0.20 and 0.48 ampere. Fresh i.meni.e exhi.i.s vari.ble Ti.2 （47.18%） and Fe2O3^T （46.10%） wi.h mi.or MnO, MgO and Cr2O3 （1.22, 1.10 and 0.51%）. The altered i.meni.e i. hi.her i. Ti.2 （76.16%） and Si.2 （4.68%） and lower i. Fe2O3^T （14.45%）, MnO, MgO and Cr2O3 （0.39, 0.52 and 0.11%） compared wi.h the fresh form. Three concentrates of i.meni.es （G1, G2 and G3） were prepared from crude ore usi.g a Readi.g cross belt magneti. separator under di.ferent condi.i.ns, reveali.g a gradual i.crease of Ti.2, Si.2, Al2O3 and CaO accompani.d by a decrease of Fe2O3^T, MgO and Cr2O3 wi.h repeti.i.n of the separati.n processes. Several ore dressi.g techni.ues were carri.d out to upgrade the i.meni.e concentrate.
