Postpartum depression (PPD) is a term applied to describe depressive symptoms occurring during the first year of the postpartum period and is characterized by low mood, loss of enjoyment, reduced energy, and activity, marked functional impairment, reduced self-esteem, ideas or acts of self-harm or suicide. The women’s change into motherhood is a difficult period that involves significant changes in the psychological, social and physiological aspects, and is considered to increase vulnerability for the development of mental illness. In Somalia, 1 in 20 women aged 15 - 49 die due to pregnancy- or birth-related complications every year. This makes being pregnant in Somalia a risk that has its own stress and anxiety. Objective: To evaluate postpartum depression and associated factors among mothers who gave birth in the last 12 months in Mogadishu, Somalia. Methodology: The study is analytic cross sectional study design in which postpartum depression and its associated factors are measured. We used Cochran’s formula (Z2p(1 – p)/d2). Results: One fifth of the study population was found to have postpartum depression and the factors relating to it included marital status, substance abuse, mode and place of delivery. Conclusion: This shows that neglected mental health of the mothers in Somalia has its burden on the society. Recommendation: Mental health care component should be integrated with maternal care programs available in the country to work on prevention and control of motherhood related stress and depression among mothers who are giving birth under the very difficult circumstances in the country.

Background: Urinary tract infection is a common disease in Somaliland society. The predominant causative organism of Urinary tract infection is Escherichia coli. This research studies antibiotic resistance of uropathogenic E. coli in patients of Hargeisa Group Hospital. The study selected commonly prescribed antibiotics for urinary tract infection treatment. Methodology: Urine samples of patients were cultured to isolate causative organisms of the urinary tract infection. Chromo-agar media, CLED, and biochemical tests are applied to identify the type of bacteria. Antibiotic reactions to E. coli bacteria are measured to differentiate between sensitive and resistant drugs with the guidance of the Clinical and Laboratories Standard Institute (CLSI). Kirby Bauer disc diffusion method is applied to assess antimicrobial activity against E. coli. Data of patients such as age, sex, symptoms of UTI, previous UTI infection, and history of antibiotic use were recorded. SPSS and Microsoft Excel are applied to analyze and interpret data. Results: The predominant organism that caused urinary tract infection was Escherichia coli (55%), Klebsiella spp (15%), Candida spp (15%), Enterococcus spp (10%), Staph spp 2.5%, and Pseudomonas spp 2.5% while other 55% were negative. The study assessed antibiotic resistance of E. coli, which reported resistance to Tetracycline at (70%), Ampicillin (64%), and Cotrimoxazole (61%). The bacteria showed moderate resistance to Ceftriaxone (43.5%), Nalidixic acid (43%), and Ciprofloxacin (36%). The bacteria are sensitive to Amikacin (100%), Nitrofurantoin (96%), Levofloxacin (73%) and gentamicin (74%). Conclusion: The overall incidence of antibiotic resistance to E. coli is high because the bacteria show a percentage of resistance to each antibiotic except Amikacin which gives (100%) sensitivity. 在中国知识产权法关于惩罚性赔偿的相关法律修改及司法解释之后,惩罚性赔偿成为最近提出的最重要的话题之一。这些修订对于中国在过去二十年外国投资引入的背景下,保持经济发展和快速增长至关重要。对中国而言,这一发展还需要在法律和立法上采取行动,切实保护投资者的权利,并鼓励投资者增加在中国的投资。中国知识产权保护法的要点之一是无法保护发明所有者和商标所有者。这也是经济增长的一个重大障碍。中国知识产权法采用惩罚性赔偿制度传递的信息是,让投资者、资本家和发明所有者放心,他们有权使用和利用他们的发明,并在任何其他人违反的情况下保护自己的权利。对于受侵害的一方,诉诸法律之后,赔偿将在一定程度上弥补利润的损失。本文介绍了美国立法中的惩罚性赔偿制度以及该法在美国法院的适用情况,鉴于美国早就采用了惩罚性赔偿制度,通过介绍相关法律的发展和修订,以及司法解释和案件中的实践情况,来回顾该制度在美国立法中所经历的阶段。进而将其与中国立法中的惩罚性赔偿进行比较,再强调其在知识产权法应用方面限制和过度使用惩罚性赔偿存在的缺陷。并试图引出美国立法中的弱点和负面观点,进而增加对中国立法更准确的了解。规避了美国立法在惩罚性赔偿方面犯下的错误,进而提出更有价值的观点和评论。

Information on the genetic diversity of wild rice species in Sri Lanka is relatively meagre,though it plays a key role in crop improvement programs of cultivated rice(Oryza sativa L.).The present study was carried out to identify the morphological variation pattern of the wild populations of *** in Sri *** populations(P1 to P7)collected from different agro-ecological regions were characterized in a common garden based on nine morphological *** findings revealed a high level of phenotypic variation between populations when compared to within a *** most variable traits were the flag leaf panicle neck length(FLPNL)and flag leaf angle(FLA),whereas the least variable trait was the flag leaf length(FLL).Box plots clearly illustrated the large differentiation of phenotypic traits in the entire distribution of wild rice *** cumulative values of the two principal components,i.e.,FLPNL and FLA,explained 58.7%of the total *** from similar natural habitats clustered *** P7 was adapted to intercept more sunlight by increasing flag leaf width(FLW)and FLA to compete with weeds and other shrubs.P2 and P5 were the most closely related populations representing approximately similar ecological conditions of the dry *** P3 population from the intermediate zone showed a vigorous plant growth with the highest plant height,culm girth and awn length(P<0.05).Knowledge of such morphological diversity would facilitate designing conservation strategies and basic information for the proper utilization of wild resources in rice genetic improvement.

提出了一种将储集层饱和度测井数据二元简化形式作为油藏模型选择标准的改进历史拟合方法,使用半合成开源油藏模型作为基础模型对提出的方法进行评估,并与常规方法进行了比较。历史拟合阶段引入流体饱和度测井数据,有助于调整或选择能够更好地表征近井地带水驱前缘推进的模型,从而有效降低水驱油藏后续井间干扰评价的不确定性。研究表明,对含水饱和度测井数据进行二元分类时,马修斯相关系数作为分类指标的效果最佳。与常规方法相比,根据提出的方法可以选出一组更可靠的储集层(特别是强非均质性储集层)模型,选出的模型历史拟合效果更好,对近井地带含水饱和度、生产井及其不同层位含水率的拟合质量更好。

Gastrointestinal Symptoms—A Rare Complication of Untreated CPA Tumor

Cerebellopontine angle (CPA) lesions account for up to 10% of all intracranial tumors. Most CPA tumors are benign, but can cause nerve damage or compress the surrounding structures if left untreated. The typical presentation is with adult-onset sensorineural hearing loss or non-pulsatile tinnitus. In some patients, this goes unnoticed, and presentation is delayed until the lesion is much larger and presents with symptoms related to mass effect. We present the case study of 63 years old gentleman, who had suspected left CPA lesion on CT head done few years ago for dizziness and left-sided facial numbness. MRI could not be done at that time due to his MRI incompatible pacemaker leading to delay in his management eventually causing loss of patient to the follow up. He later developed progressive difficulty in walking which was initially attributed to as secondary to vasovagal syncope and postural hypotension. He eventually presented to us with intractable nausea and vomiting, worsening headache and ataxia. He had an urgent CT head which showed significant growth in the lesion with compression of the surrounding structures and obstructive hydrocephalus. He was given steroids which improved his nausea and vomiting, followed by undergoing surgery in regional center leading to significant improvement in his gait within few days of surgery. He unfortunately continued to have a degree of ataxia and facial numbness. This case illustrates a rare presentation of CPA tumor with symptoms of nausea and vomiting as a result of mass effect of the growing tumor. In addition, this review also shows the importance of regularly following up the patients with suspected CPA lesions on initial scans which will help with identifying the increase in size of lesion promptly and potentially preventing advanced complications of CPA tumors. We suggest regular monitoring of these patients to timely manage the lesion and avoid the potential life-threatening complications.

The optimum delivery of safeguarding substances is a major part of supply chain management and a crucial issue in the mitigation against the outbreak of pandemics.A problem arises for a decision maker who wants to optimally choose a subset of candidate consumers to maximize the distributed quantities of the needed safeguarding substances within a specic time period.A nonlinear binary mathematical programming model for the problem is *** decision variables are binary ones that represent whether to choose a specic consumer,and design constraints are formulated to keep track of the chosen *** better illustrate the problem,objective,and problem constraints,a real application case study is *** case study involves the optimum delivery of safeguarding substances to several hospitals in the Al-Gharbia Governorate in *** hospitals are selected to represent the consumers of safeguarding substances,as they are the rst crucial frontline for mitigation against a pandemic outbreak.A distribution truck is used to distribute the substances from the main store to the hospitals in specied required quantities during a given working *** objective function is formulated in order to maximize the total amount of delivered quantities during the specied time *** case study is solved using a novel Discrete Binary Gaining Sharing Knowledge-based Optimization algorithm(DBGSK),which involves two main stages:discrete binary junior and senior gaining and sharing *** has the ability of nding the solutions of the introduced problem,and the obtained results demonstrate robustness and convergence toward the optimal solutions.

Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus and Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor toward Predicting Possible Association

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the effect of non-synonymous SNPs (nsSNPs) of the Glucagon-like peptide-1 Receptor (GLP-1R) gene in protein function and structure using different computational software. Introduction: The GLP1R gene provides the necessary instruction for the synthesis of the insulin hormones which is needed for glucose catabolism. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with diabetes. The protein is an important drug target for the treatment of type-2 diabetes and stroke. Material and Methods: Different nsSNPs and protein-related sequences were obtained from NCBI and ExPASY database. Gene associations and interactions were predicted using GeneMANIA software. Deleterious and damaging effects of nsSNPs were analyzed using SIFT, Provean, and Polyphen-2. The association of the nsSNPs with the disease was predicted using SNPs & GO software. Protein stability was investigated using I-Mutant and MUpro software. The structural and functional impact of point mutations was predicted using Project Hope software. Project Hope analyzes the mutations according to their size, charge, hydrophobicity, and conservancy. Results: The GLP1R gene was found to have an association with 20 other different genes. Among the most important ones is the GCG (glucagon) gene which is also a trans membrane protein. Overall 7229 variants were seen, and the missense variants or nsSNPs (146) were selected for further analysis. The total number of nsSNPs obtained in this study was 146. After being subjected to SIFT software (27 Deleterious and 119 Tolerated) were predicted. Analysis with Provean showed that (20 deleterious and 7 neutral). Analysis using Polyphen-2 revealed 17 probably damaging, 2 possibly damaging and 1 benign nsSNPs. Using two additional software SNPs & GO and PHD-SNPs showed that 14 and 17 nsSNPs had a disease effect, respectively. Bio-Inspired of Pyramidical Concrete Barrier Walls against the Effects of Explosion Waves

Biomimicry is a technique that inspired solutions to engineering problems through the study of natural systems, designs and processes. Recently, the engineering Biomimicry technique has been used to inspire a protection system against the blast waves and that can mitigate, absorb, and reflect the blast waves. Hence, this work studies the effect of different geometrical configurations of concrete wall barriers inspired by nature against blast waves. The non-linear 3d numerical model is used to model the proposed configurations. The finite element modeling is validated with referenced experimental works. The response of the proposed structural configurations of the wall barrier is analyzed. The results showed that the new bio-inspired pyramidical structure configuration (PCBW) has a notable effect on the mitigation of blast hazards which gave the best performance for the protection of the area behind the wall barrier with 19.5% with respect to traditional concrete barrier wall (TCBW). Also, it is concluded that nature inspiration has a great effect on designing new protection systems against the effect of blast waves.
