In th.s article, we study modified nano-h.droxyapatite (h.p) by nano manganese oxide (Mn3O4) as adsorbent material to remove iron ions from groundwater. Different parameters were studied to option optimum conditions of removing such.as contact time, ph. initial concentration, a dosage of adsorbent, agitation speed and temperature. Kinetics studies included first order (R2 = 0.915), pseudo-first order (R2 = 0.936), second order (R2 = 0.948), pseudo-second order (R2 = 0.995), Elovich.equation model (R2 = 0.977), intraparticle diffusion (R2 = 0.946), Natarajan and Kh.laf (R2 = 0.915) were carried out, th. obtained results revealed th.t th. pseudo-second order is th. best to describe th. adsorption process because th. correlation coefficient is approach.ng one (R2 = 0.995). Adsorption isoth.rm was calculated by using Freundlich. Langmuir and Temkin constants, adsorption capacity from Langmuir model was 0.606 mg/g. Th.rmodynamic parameters (ΔG, Δh.= ?51 KJ/mol, and ΔS = ?142 (KJ/mol)) for th. adsorption process were also calculated and discussed.

Background: Pregnancies progressing postterm are associated with.a h.gh.r perinatal morbidity and mortality rates th.n th.se delivered at term. In a United Kingdom study, th. rate of stillbirth.increased from 0.35 in 1000 live birth. in pregnancies of 37 weeks to 2.12 in 1000 live birth. in pregnancies of 43 weeks gestation. Morbidities associated with.postterm birth. include an increased risk of fetal distress, intrauterine growth.restriction, dysfunctional labor, sh.ulder dystocia, obstetric trauma (relative risk 1.09 - 1.68) and an increase in perinatal complications, such.as aspiration of meconium and asph.xia, periph.ral nerve injury, greenstick bone fractures, pneumonia and septicemia (adjusted odds ratio 1.4 - 2.0). Antenatal surveillance and induction of labor may decrease th. risks of an adverse outcome. In a recent review of term and postterm pregnancies in Norway, we found th.t th.re were adverse outcomes associated with.both.postterm pregnancy and induction of labor independently. On comparison of th. two, a randomized controlled trial sh.wed no difference in th.ir neonatal outcome, but demonstrated a reduction in th. cesarean delivery rate wh.n labor was induced at 41 weeks. Aim of th. Work: Th. aim of th.s study was to determine th. effect of labor induction on maternal and fetal outcome in postterm pregnancies. Subjects and Meth.ds: Th.s study was carried out on 150 pregnant women wh. h.d completed 41 weeks of gestation between Jun. 1, 2012 up to Dec. 31, 2012 at Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Bengh.zi University, and were sch.duled for induction of labor after cardiotocograph. (CTG) and ultrasonograph. (USS) h.ve been done and Bish.p’s score assessed, to determine th. effects of labor induction on maternal and fetal outcome in postterm pregnancies (41 weeks plus). Vaccination against Coronavirus disease-19(COVID-19)was pivotal to limit spread,morbidity and *** aim is to find out wh.th.r vaccines against COVID-19 lead to an immunological response stimulating th. production of de novo donor specific antibodies(DSAs)or increase in mean fluorescence intensity(MFI)of pre-existing DSAs in kidney transplant recipients(KTRs).Th.s study involved a detailed literature search.th.ough.December 2nd,2023 using PubMed as th. primary *** search.strategy incorporated a combination of relevant Medical Subject h.adings terms and keywords:"COVID-19","SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination","Kidney,Renal Transplant",and"Donor specific antibodies".Th. results from related studies were collated and analyzed.A total of 6 studies were identified,encompassing 460 KTRs vaccinated against *** responses were detected in 8 KTRs of wh.ch.5 h.d increased MFIs,1 h.d de novo DSA,and 2 were categorized as eith.r h.ving de novo DSA or increased *** were 48 KTRs with.pre-existing DSAs prior to vaccination,but one study(Massa et al)did not report wh.th.r pre-existing DSAs were associated with.post vaccination *** th. remaining 5 studies,35 KTRs with.pre-existing DSAs were identified of wh.ch.7 KTRs(20%)developed de novo DSAs or increased ***,no immunological response was detected in 452(98.3%)*** study affirms prior reports th.t COVID-19 vaccination is safe for KTRs,especially if th.re are no pre-existing ***,if KTRs h.ve pre-existing DSAs,th.n an increased immunological risk may be *** findings need to be taken cautiously as th.y are based on a limited number of patients so furth.r studies are still needed for confirmation.

Objective:To elucidate th. progression of angioedema of th. h.ad and neck with.routine management and to assess th. utility of serial ph.sical exams and fiberoptic laryngos-copy in its management. Meth.ds:Th.s study was a prospective observational research. From 2013 to 2014, a prospec-tive observational study was conducted at a tertiary referral center. Forty patient were ap-proach.d, 7 refused, 33 (18e90 years old) were enrolled. Patients presented with.angioedema involving th. h.ad and neck over a 12 month.period were asked to participate in th. study. Ph.sical examination and fiberoptic laryngoscopy were performed at presentation and th.n repeated at least 1 h.later. Results:Th.rty-th.ee patients with.h.ad and neck angioedema from any cause were enrolled (mean age 58, range 23e89 years). Th. upper lip was th. most commonly involved site (58%). On reevaluation, 82% of patients reported subjective improvement in symptoms. Th.association between subjective improvement and th. ph.sical exam, including fiberoptic laryngoscopy findings, was statistically significant (P Conclusion:In stable patients with.angioedema of any h.ad and neck subsite, self-reported symptoms are associated with.clinical stability or improvement as assessed by ph.sical signs and fiberoptic laryngoscopy. Patients’ symptoms may be an appropriate surrogate to monitor clinical status with.ut th. need for routine serial ph.sical examinations or fiberoptic laryngos-copy, th.ugh.furth.r study is needed. *** primary cancers of th. endometrium and ovary a re found in 10%of women with.ovarian cancer and 5%of women with.endometrial cancer. Th. purpose of th.s study was to ch.racterize patients diagnosed with.synch.onous p rimary cancers of th. endometrium and ovary with.an emph.sis on risk factors. Me th.ds. Between 1989 and 2002, 84 patients with.synch.onous primary cancers of th.e endometrium and ovary were identified. Patientswith.uterine papillary serous c arcinoma were excluded. Clinical and path.logic information was obtained from me dical records. Parametric meth.ds were used to compare clinical and path.logic f eatures. Kaplan-Meier survival analyses were performed and compared using th. l og rank test. Results. Median age at diagnosis was 50 years. Median body mass in dex (BMI) was 28 kg/m2. Fifty-one percent (43/84) of th. women were premenopaus al and 33%(28/84)-were nulliparous. Th. most common presenting symptom was abn ormal vaginal bleeding; in th.se women with.abnormal vaginal bleeding, 69%h.d s tage I ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancerwas an incidental finding in 48%of th.se p atients. Sixtyeigh. percent of patients (57/84) h.d endometrioid h.stology of bo th.th.ir endometrial and ovarian cancers. Patients with.early stage ovarian canc er tended to h.ve a more favorable prognosis th.n th.se with.advanced stage dise ase (median survival not reach.d in stage I and II versus 66 month. in stage III and IV, P = 0.06). Patients with.concordant endometrioid h.stology h.d a favorable progno sis (median survival 119 versus 48 month. in all oth.r groups, P = 0.02). Conclu sions. In th.s large series of patients, women with.synch.onous primary cancers of th. endometrium and ovary were young, obese, nulliparous, and premenopausal. Patients with.concordant endometrioid tumors of th. endometrium and ovary h.d a favorable prognosis, with.median survival approach.ng 10 years.
