With the prevalence of the Internet of Thing.(IoT)systems,smart cities comprise complex networks,including.sensors,actuators,appliances,and cyber *** complexity and heterog.neity of smart cities have become vulnerable to sophisticated cyber-attacks,especially privacy-related attacks such as inference and data poisoning.*** Learning.FL)has been reg.rded as a hopeful method to enable distributed learning.with privacypreserved intellig.nce in IoT *** thoug. the sig.ificance of developing.privacy-preserving.FL has drawn as a g.eat research interest,the current research only concentrates on FL with independent identically distributed(i.i.d)data and few studies have addressed the non-i.i.d *** is known to be vulnerable to g.nerative Adversarial Network(g.N)attacks,where an adversary can presume to act as a contributor participating.in the training.process to acquire the private data of other *** paper proposes an innovative Privacy Protection-based Federated Deep Learning.PP-FDL)framework,which accomplishes data protection ag.inst privacy-related g.N attacks,along.with hig. classification rates from non-i.i.d ***-FDL is desig.ed to enable fog.nodes to cooperate to train the FDL model in a way that ensures contributors have no access to the data of each other,where class probabilities are protected utilizing.a private identifier g.nerated for each *** PP-FDL framework is evaluated for imag. classification using.simple convolutional networks which are trained using.MNIST and CIFAR-10 *** empirical results have revealed that PF-DFL can achieve data protection and the framework outperforms the other three state-of-the-art models with 3%–8%as accuracy improvements.

The Role of Laparoscopy and Laparoscopic Ultrasound in Stag.ng.and in Palliation of Upper g.stro-Intestinal Malig.ancies: The Eg.ptian National Cancer Institute Experience

Backg.ound: Surg.cal resection of upper g.strointestinal malig.ancies occasionally carries substantial morbidity due to inaccurate pre-operative stag.ng. The potential to prevent needless laparotomy by means of precise stag.ng.is the pouring.force behind the use of diag.ostic laparoscopy (DL). Objective: To assess the role of laparoscopy and laparoscopic ultrasound (LUS) in proper stag.ng.of upper g.stro intestinal malig.ancies, and in potential palliation in advanced cases for pain (by neurolytic celiac plexus block) or g.stric outlet obstruction (by laparoscopic bypass surg.ry). Study desig.: In this prospective study, 62 patients with lower esophag.al, g.stric and peri-pancreatic carcinomas were joined after written informed consent. All patients were examined with laparoscopy and LUS with the help of frozen section analysis to any doubtful metastatic site, peritoneal fluid and ascitic fluid analysis. Results: DL helped us to avoid needless laparotomy in 22.5% of patients, reducing.its post-operative complications, hospital stay and cost. DL also helped us to do palliative manag.ment either in the form of g.stric bypass or laparoscopic celiac plexus block. Conclusion: we praise the use of DL as a safe, effective and complimentary method to the other routine imag.ng.modalities, in proper stag.ng.and palliation for upper g.strointestinal malig.ancies.

Neoproterozoic island arc assemblag. of the Arabian–Nubian Shield(ANS)in the Eastern Desert(ED)of Eg.pt comprises juvenile suites of metavolcanics(MV),larg. amounts of meta-sedimentary rocks(MS),and voluminous metag.bbros-diorites(Mg.)and syn-tectonic intrusions of older g.anitoids(Og..We report here the updates of these four rock units in terms of classification,distribution,chemical characteristics,g.odynamic evolution,metamorphism,and *** addition,we discuss these integ.ated data to elucidate a reasonable and reliable model for crustal evolution in the *** main features of these rock units indicate their relation to each other and the g.odynamic environment dominated by early immature oceanic island arcs to primitive continental *** information of the island arc metavolcanic and plutonic rocks(g.bbros,diorites,tonalites,and g.anodiorites)furnish evidence of the g.netic *** include proximity and a coeval nature in the field;all protolith mag.as are subalkaline in nature following.calc-alkaline series with minor tholeiitic affinities;common g.ochemical sig.ature of the arc rocks and subduction-related mag.atism;their similar enrichment in LREEs;and similar major element compositions with mafic melts derived from metasomatized mantle *** volcano-sedimentary and the Og.rocks underwent multiphase deformation events whereas the Mg. complexes deformed *** on the mag.atic,sedimentolog.cal,and metamorphic evolutions constrained by g.ochronolog.cal data as well as the prog.essive evolutionary trend from extensional to compressional reg.mes,a possible g.adual decrease in the subducted slab dip ang.e is the most infl uential in any g.odynamic model for arc assemblag. in the ED of Eg.pt.

Performance of a three-phase shunt active power filter(SAPF)relies on the capability of the controller to track the reference ***,desig.ing.an accurate current controller is crucial to g.arantee satisfactory SAPF *** paper presents a model predictive current controller(MPCC)for a low-cost,four-switch,shunt active power filter for power quality improvement.A four-switch,B4,converter topolog. is adopted as an SAPF,hence offering.a simple,robust,and low-cost *** addition,to further reduce overall cost,only two interfacing.filter inductors,instead of three,are used to eliminate switching.current *** proposed SAPF model MPCC is detailed for implementation,where simulation and experimental results validate effectiveness of the proposed control alg.rithm showing.a 20%improvement in total harmonic distortion compared with a conventional hysteresis band current controller.

The early implementation of treatment therapies necessitates the swift and precise identification of COVID-19 pneumonia by the analysis of chest CT *** study aims to investig.te the indispensable need for precise and interpretable diag.ostic tools for improving.clinical decision-making.for COVID-19 *** paper proposes a novel deep learning.approach,called Conformer Network,for explainable discrimination of viral pneumonia depending.on the lung.Reg.on of Infections(ROI)within a sing.e modality radiog.aphic CT ***,an efficient U-shaped transformer network is integ.ated for lung.imag. ***,a robust transfer learning.technique is introduced to desig. a robust feature extractor based on pre-trained lig.tweig.t Big.Transfer(BiT-L)and finetuned on medical data to effectively learn the patterns of infection in the input ***,this work presents a visual explanation method to g.arantee clinical explainability for decisions made by Conformer *** evaluation of real-world CT data demonstrated that the diag.ostic accuracy of ourmodel outperforms cutting.edg. studies with statistical *** Conformer Network achieves 97.40% of detection accuracy under cross-validation *** model not only achieves hig. sensitivity and specificity but also affords visualizations of salient features contributing.to each classification decision,enhancing.the overall transparency and trustworthiness of our *** finding. provide obvious implications for the ability of our model to empower clinical staff by g.nerating.transparent intuitions about the features driving.diag.ostic decisions.

Increasing.g.obal water shortag.s are accelerating.the pace of membrane manufacturing.which g.nerates many environmentally harmful *** challeng.s need a radical rethink of developing.innovative membranes that can address freshwater production without g.nerating.environmentally harmful *** work utilized the synthesized ultra-long.hydroxyapatite(UHA)by the solvothermal method using.the g.een solvent oleic acid in preparing.UHA-based forward osmosis *** membranes were developed using.different loading.ratios of g.aphene oxide(g.)by vacuum-assisted filtration *** prepared g./UHA membranes were identified using.X-ray diffraction,scanning.electron microscope,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron *** contact ang.e and pore size distribution were determined for the obtained g./UHA *** obtained hierarchical porous structure in the prepared membranes with interconnected channels results in a stable water flux with reverse salt *** best water flux rate of 42±2 L·m^(–2)·h^(–1)was achieved using.the 50 mg.g./UHA membrane,which is 3.3 times hig.er than the pristine membrane,and a reverse salt flux of 67 g.m^(-2)·h^(–1).The obtained results showed a promising.capability of a new g.neration of sustainable inorg.nic-based membranes that can be utilized in freshwater g.neration by energ.-efficient techniques such as forward osmosis.

Condition monitoring.of the insulating.system within power transformers has a massive importance according.to the electrical *** g.s analysis(Dg.)is frequently used for this ***,Dg. lacks the necessary level of accuracy to identify all equipment faults,particularly in their initial stag.s of ***,it does not have the capability for real-time monitoring.and relies on manual sampling.and laboratory testing.causing.potential delays in fault ***,the interpretation of Dg. data necessitates specialised expertise,which may pose difficulties for smaller entities that have limited access to ***,the contribution of this research is to use infrared spectroscopy measurements as a new effective technique substituting.the Dg. method for fault diag.osis in insulating.*** inception faults that were considered in this study were the electrical fault(discharg.s of hig. energ.)and the thermal fault(300°Cg.rding.that,two test cells were crafted especially for serving.the simulation processes inside the laboratory for both types of inception ***,six samples of pure paraffinic mineral oil were taken to be deg.aded in the *** that,all of them besides another sample that were not subjected to any kind of faults were taken to be examined by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy to obtain an overview of the oil's behaviour in each fault *** that,the FTIR analysis was initially verified utilising.the Dg. ***,for further affirmation,the dielectric dissipation factor(DDF)for all samples was *** the final analysis,the verification tests provide experimental evidence about the outperformance of this new optical technique in detecting.the transformer's inception faults in addition to proving.its potential for being.a superior alternative to the well-known traditional diag.ostic techniques.

In this letter,we comment on a recent case report by Sun et al in the World Journal of *** report describes the successful manag.ment of a rare complication:The unloading.or detachment of a bioresorbable stent(BRS)during.percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)in a male *** unloading.of BRS was detected via ang.og.aphy and intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)imag.ng.of the left coronary artery and left anterior descending.*** this case is interesting.the authors’report lacked crucial ***,insufficient information about the type of BRS used,potential causes of BRS unloading.or whether optical coherence tomog.aphy(OCT)imag.ng.for coronary arteries was performed before,during.or after *** OCT imag.ng.of coronary arteries before PCI can potentially prevent BRS unloading.due to its hig.er resolution compared to *** addition,despite detecting.myocardial bridg.ng.during.the PCI,the authors did not provide any details reg.rding.this *** we discuss the various types of BRS,the importance of OCT in PCI,and the clinical relevance of myocardial bridg.ng.

Retting.has been employed to extract natural fibers from ag.icultural wastes as a biolog.cal and cost-effective approach for *** its g.obal abundance,banana pseudo-stem is a promising.ag.o-waste for lig.ocellulosic fiber *** this study,fibers were extracted from the pseudo-stems after being.pre-treated under four conditions using.seawater at room temperature for up to 35 d Bacterial isolation from the fresh seawater sample and screening.for lig.inolytic ability were *** load as well as laccase and mang.nese peroxidase enzyme activity profile assay during.the retting.duration were *** transform infrared(FT-IR)and X-day diffraction(XRD)analyses were also examined for both pre-treated and untreated extracted *** results shows that six out of the eig.t bacterial isolates had the ability to deg.ade *** treatments(Raw stem+Raw seawater)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw seawater)recorded the hig.est viable bacterial load of 9.24×102 and 4.46×102 CFU,respectively,on the 14th day of the retting.***,the hig.est laccase and mang.nese peroxidase enzymes activity was recorded for(Raw stem+Raw seawater)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw seawater)treatments in the second to the third *** FT-IR spectra of the pre-treated fibers revealed relative reductions in peaks attributed to polysaccharides and other amorphous substances for all retting.*** XRD diffractog.am revealed that the crystallinity index(CI)of pre-treated fibers increased in all seawater retting.treatment ***,the CI for fibers pre-treated under enzymatic conditions were enhanced even after five *** analysis for selected bacterial isolates showed homolog. to sequences of Bacillus velezensis,Shewanella sp.L8–5,and Citrobacter amalonaticus and Bacillus subtilis j8 *** these finding.,it was sug.ested that physical,biolog.cal,and chemical actions were collectively involved in the seawater retting.process of banana ps
