Condition monitoring of the insulating system within power transformers has a massive importance according to the electrical *** gas analysis(DGA)is frequently used for this ***,DGA lacks the necessary level of accuracy to identify all equipment faults,particularly in their initial stages of ***,it does not have the capability for real-time monitoring and relies on manual sampling and laboratory testing,causing potential delays in fault ***,the interpretation of DGA data necessitates specialised expertise,which may pose difficulties for smaller entities that have limited access to ***,the contribution of this research is to use infrared spectroscopy measurements as a new effective technique substituting the DGA method for fault diagnosis in insulating *** inception faults that were considered in this study were the electrical fault(discharges of high energy)and the thermal fault(300°Cfted especially for serving the simulation processes inside the laboratory for both types of inception ***,six samples of pure paraffinic mineral oil were taken to be degraded in the *** that,all of them besides another sample that were not subjected to any kind of faults were taken to be examined by fourier transform infrared(fTIR)spectroscopy to obtain an overview of the oil's behaviour in each fault *** that,the fTIR analysis was initially verified utilising the DGA ***,for further affirmation,the dielectric dissipation factor(DDf)for all samples was *** the final analysis,the verification tests provide experimental evidence about the outperformance of this new optical technique in detecting the transformer's inception faults in addition to proving its potential for being a superior alternative to the well-known traditional diagnostic techniques.

Advanced DriverAssistance Systems(ADAS)technologies can assist drivers or be part of automatic driving systems to support the driving process and improve the level of safety and comfort on the *** Sign Recognition System(TSRS)is one of themost important components *** the challengeswith TSRS is being able to recognize road signs with the highest accuracy and the shortest processing ***,this paper introduces a new real time methodology recognizing Speed Limit Signs based on a trio of developed ***,the Speed Limit Detection(SLD)module uses the Haar Cascade technique to generate a new SL detector in order to localize SL signs within captured ***,the Speed Limit Classification(SLC)module,featuring machine learning classifiers alongside a newly developed model called DeepSL,harnesses the power of a CNN architecture to extract intricate features from speed limit sign images,ensuring efficient and precise *** addition,a new Speed Limit Classifiers fusion(SLCf)module has been developed by combining trained ML classifiers and the DeepSL model by using the Dempster-Shafer theory of belief functions and ensemble learning’s voting *** rigorous software and hardware validation processes,the proposedmethodology has achieved highly significant f1 scores of 99.98%and 99.96%for DS theory and the votingmethod,***,a prototype encompassing all components demonstrates outstanding reliability and efficacy,with processing times of 150 ms for the Raspberry Pi board and 81.5 ms for the Nano Jetson board,marking a significant advancement in TSRS technology.

Developing a biomaterial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were embedded in cast films based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be examined for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated films including X-ray diffraction(XRD),fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(fTIR),Raman,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),besides their biological *** thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)exhibits high thermal stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the temperature from room temperature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approximately 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachment shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on most of the surface of the modified PCL which shows high biocompatibility.

This study aims to estimate monthly averaged daily horizontal global solar *** climatological data collected at twelve major cities located across Libya’s map were used to establish 7 different empirical *** empirical coefficients of the models were calculated using the least square *** accuracy of the models was evaluated using different statistical criteria such as Taylor diagram,mean absolute percentage error,MAPE,and root mean square error,*** results indicated that the sunshine duration-based models are more accurate than air temperature-based models,and the best performance was obtained by the quadratic regression model for all twelve Libyan ***,this regression model can be used for the prediction of monthly mean horizontal global solar radiation at a specific site across Libya’s regions with minimum ***,the results of the global solar irradiance produced by this method can be used for designing solar systems applications.

Surface electromyography(sEMG)-based gesture recognition is a key technology in the field of human–computer ***,existing gesture recognition methods face challenges in effectively integrating discriminative temporal feature representations from sEMG *** this paper,we propose a deep learning framework named TfN-fICfM comprises a Temporal fusion Network(TfN)and fuzzy Integral-Based Classifier fusion method(fICfM)to improve the accuracy and robustness of gesture ***,we design a TfN module,which utilizes an attention-based recurrent multi-scale convolutional module to acquire multi-level temporal feature representations and achieves deep fusion of temporal features through a feature pyramid ***,the deep-fused temporal features are utilized to generate multiple sets of gesture category prediction confidences through a feedback ***,we employ fICfM to perform fuzzy fusion on prediction confidences,resulting in the ultimate *** study conducts extensive comparisons and ablation studies using the publicly available datasets Ninapro DB2 and *** demonstrate that the TfN-fICfM model outperforms state-of-the-art methods in classification *** research can serve as a benchmark for sEMG-based gesture recognition and related deep learning modeling.

Photovoltaic(PV)arrays are usually installed in open areas;hence,they are vulnerable to lightning strikes that can result in cell degradation,complete damage,service disruption,and increased maintenance *** a result,it is imperative to develop an effective and efficient lightning protection system by evaluating the transient behaviour of PV arrays during lightning *** aim is to evaluate the transient analysis of large-scale PV systems when subjected to lightning strikes using the finite difference time domain(fDTD)*** overvoltages are calculated at various points within the mounting *** optimise the fDTD method's execution time and make it more suitable for less powerful hardware,a variable cell size approach is ***,larger cell dimensions are used in the earthing system and smaller cell dimensions are used in the mounting *** fDTD method is utilised to calculate the temporal variation of transient overvoltages for large-scale PV systems under different scenarios,including variations in the striking point,soil resistivity,and the presence of a metal *** results indicate that the highest transient overvoltages occur at the striking point,and these values increase with the presence of a PV metal frame as well as with higher soil ***,a comparison is performed between the overvoltage results obtained from the fDTD approach and the partial element equivalent circuit(PEEC)method at the four corner points of the mounting systems to demonstrate the superior accuracy of the fDTD ***,a laboratory experiment is conducted on a small-scale PV system to validate the simulation *** calculated overvoltages obtained from the fDTD and PEEC methods are compared with the measured values,yielding a mean absolute error of 5%and 11%for the fDTD and PEEC methods,respectively,thereby confirming the accuracy of the fDTD simulation model.

The increasing prevalence of Internet of Things(IoT)devices has introduced a new phase of connectivity in recent years and,concurrently,has opened the floodgates for growing cyber *** the myriad of potential attacks,Denial of Service(DoS)attacks and Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks remain a dominant concern due to their capability to render services inoperable by overwhelming systems with an influx of *** IoT devices often lack the inherent security measures found in more mature computing platforms,the need for robust DoS/DDoS detection systems tailored to IoT is paramount for the sustainable development of every domain that IoT *** this study,we investigate the effectiveness of three machine learning(ML)algorithms:extreme gradient boosting(XGB),multilayer perceptron(MLP)and random forest(Rf),for the detection of IoTtargeted DoS/DDoS attacks and three feature engineering methods that have not been used in the existing stateof-the-art,and then employed the best performing algorithm to design a prototype of a novel real-time system towards detection of such DoS/DDoS *** CICIoT2023 dataset was derived from the latest real-world IoT traffic,incorporates both benign and malicious network traffic patterns and after data preprocessing and feature engineering,the data was fed into our models for both training and validation,where findings suggest that while all threemodels exhibit commendable accuracy in detectingDoS/DDoS attacks,the use of particle swarmoptimization(PSO)for feature selection has made great improvements in the performance(accuracy,precsion recall and f1-score of 99.93%for XGB)of the ML models and their execution time(491.023 sceonds for XGB)compared to recursive feature elimination(RfE)and randomforest feature importance(RfI)*** proposed real-time system for DoS/DDoS attack detection entails the implementation of an platform capable of effectively processing and analyzing network traffic in *** inv
