The chemical structure of newly synthesized cationic surfactants based on Schiff base was confirmed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy,and mass *** synthesized surfactants were used in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles by a simple one-step *** silver nanoparticle（AgNPs） formation was confirmed using transmission electron microscopy（TEM）,electron diffraction（SAED）,dynamic light scattering（DLS）,and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（EDX）.The structure of the surfactant played an important role in the synthesis *** the hydrophobic chain length,the stability,and the amount of surfactant increased the quantity of AgNPs *** surface activity of the synthesized cationic surfactants was determined using surface tension measurements at three different *** synthesized surfactants showed a high tendency toward adsorption and *** the hydrophobic chain length of the synthesized surfactant increased its *** the synthesized cationic surfactants and their nano-form against bacteria and fungi showed that they are highly *** silver nanoparticles enhanced the biological activity of the synthesized cationic surfactants.

In this study, Gum Arabic (GA)/Graphite (Gr) composite material was prepared using solid state reaction method. The FTIR peaks obtained were referred to the binding of Gr with the active groups in GA, such as NH2, COOH, CHO, CNC (alkyl amine) and C=CH (aromatic monosubstitution). Atomic diffusivity of Gr in GA was calculated using simple model and was found to varied randomly. This randomness might be due to the attachment of Gr with different active groups of GA. The addition of Gr results in improvement of the conductivity of GA to a far extend as it reaches the semiconductor range. The random variation in conductivities of the samples can be attributed to the effect of high frequency range, where the effect of phonon-electron is dominant. The samples subjected to the impedance spectroscopy (IS) for second and third time were acquired different diffusivities as well as conductivities. Such variations might indicate that IS was a processing technique similar to thermal treatment since it boosted the Gr atomic diffusion.

Strategies for Successful Electrical Cardioversion in Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia in the world, and its management relies on restoring sinus rhythm through external electrical shock and controlling the heart rate. This procedure should be performed under sedation with strict monitoring of blood pressure and saturation after the elimination of thrombus in the left atrium. Objective: The aim of this article is to provide an overview of the impact of anticoagulation and imaging in the periprocedural period, the modalities, and the complications associated with electrical cardioversion (ECV). Research Method: A review of recent literature was conducted using medical databases such as PubMed and Scopus. Searches were performed on articles published between 2003 and 2024, focusing on the new ESC guidelines for 2024. The keywords used included “electrical cardioversion”, “atrial fibrillation”, “orthogonal cardioversion” and “anticoagulation”. Inclusion criteria encompassed clinical trials, meta-analyses, and literature reviews, while studies addressing other treatment forms for AF or lacking information on ECV were excluded. Relevant data were extracted and synthesized to provide an overview of the modalities and complications related to ECV in the context of AF. Results and Conclusion: The use of high-energy biphasic shocks significantly improves rhythm control success and also reduces the incidence of ventricular fibrillation. Furthermore, orthogonal electrical cardioversion (OECV) has proven effective for cases of AF refractory to standard protocols, allowing for a lower defibrillation threshold and promoting better current distribution. However, complications must be considered, particularly thromboembolic events in non-anticoagulated patients. Other complications, such as bradycardia and recurrence of AF, may arise post-procedure. It is therefore crucial to ensure adequate anticoagulation before and after ECV, as well as continuous monitoring, to minimize these risks and optimize clinical outco

Mycoplasma synoviae （MS） is an economically important pathogenic agent of chickens, causing air sacculitis and synovitis. The diagnosis and monitoring of M. synoviae infection is usually made using serological assays, while confirmative diagnosis is made by isolation and identifcation of the organism, because of the cross reaction between M. gallisepticum and M. synoviae. This study was conducted from 2011 to 2013 during which l l broiler breeder flocks were sampled. These farms were located in all regions of morocco, The sampling was conducted as follows： Farms were visited on day one old chicks ＂day of importation from Europe＂. 20 to 60 ＂chicks＂ were randomly sampled. At the age of 8, 16, 32 and 56 weeks, 60 blood samples and 60 tracheal swabs were collected at each sampling. The serological screening was performed using Rapid Slide Agglutination （RSA） according the OIE protocol and Indirect EL1SA （IDEXX） according the manufacturer＇s instructions. The molecular diagnosis was performed using a commercial kit of a duplex real time PCR （Life Biotechnology）. The results revealed that one day old chicks were negative to MS by RSA and PCR, however they have a variable stock of maternal antibodies （Ig-Y） detected by iELISA. The seroprevalence found by RSA is variable and increase with the age （Sth week： 55%, 16th week： 91%, 32tb and 56th week： 100%）, the same profile was traced by PCR （Sth week： 36%, 16th week： 64%, 32th week： 82%, 56th week： 100%）, however, all farms were positive by iELISA, from the first day to 56th weeks. These results show that MS infections are very frequent and very widespread among poultry breeder flocks, and showed a perfect agreement between serological tests and Real time PCR starting from 32th week of age.

(1) To determine the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and insulin- like growth factor- 1 (IGF1) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). (2) To study Doppler blood flow changes within the ovarian stroma of women with PCOS. (3) To evaluate the relationship between VEGF and IGF- 1 and Doppler indices as well as hormonal profile. Fifty infertile women with PCOS diagnosed by ultrasound examination and a history of oligomenorrhea, hirsutism and obesity were studied. Serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), insulin- like growth factor- 1 (IGF- 1) and hormonal profile were measured. Doppler blood flow velocity waveforms analysis in both right and left intraovarian arteries was done. Twenty healthy and fertile women with regular menstrual cycles served as a comparison group were similarly studied at the third day of the cycle. The serum levels of VEGF,IGF- 1 (4.79 ± 0.91, 253.15 ± 70.07 versus 2.39 ± 0.42, 186.65 ± 42.7) were significantly elevated (P < 0.001 and P < 0.01, respectively) in women with PCOS compared with control. Doppler indices, PI (2.01 ± 0.77, 2.66 ± 1.00 versus 2.98 ± 0.77, 3.75 ± 0.98) and RI (0.77 ± 0.12, 0.82 ± 0.09 versus 0.87 ± 0.09, 0.89 ± 0.09) in both right and left intraovarian vessels were significantly lower in the patients than controls. The VEGF and IGF- 1 levels were negatively correlated with RI and PI in the uterine and intraovarian arteries. VEGF level was positively correlated with IGF- 1 (r = 0.41, P <.0.05) in women with PCOS. Higher serum levels of VEGF and IGF- 1 in PCOS women may be related to the increased vascularity that underlies the increased blood flow demonstrated by Doppler blood flow measurements in these women.

Hyperbranched poly(amine-ester) (HBPAE) was synthesized via pseudo-one-step process between trimethylolpropane as a core molecule and N, N-diethylol-3-amine methylpropionate as the AB2 branched monomer. The prepared polymer was analyzed by IR, GPC, 1H-NMR and thermal analysis (TGA and DSC). The performance of the polymer in cement was tested by measuring the effect of 1, 3 and 5 wt% of HBPAE solutions on the properties of Ordinary Portland Cement. Water of consistency, setting times, bulk density, apparent porosity, compressive strength and combined water content of the polymer/cement pastes were studied. The results showed that water of consistency and apparent porosity decreased while setting times, compressive strength, combined water and bulk density increased with the polymer addition.

A comparative study was conducted using two designs of a roxatidine acetate （ROX）-selective electrode; a conventional liquid inner contact called electrode A and a graphite-coated solid contact called electrode 13. The fabrication of electrodes was based on roxatidine-tetraphenylborate （ROX-TPB） as an ion-association complex in a PVC matrix using different plasticizers. Electrode A has a linear dynamic range of 2.2 ×10^-5 mol/L to 1.0 ×10^-2 mol/L, with a Nernstian slope of 54.7 mV/decade and a detection limit of 1.4 ×10^-6 mol/L. Electrode B shows linearity over the concentration range of 1.0×10^-6 mol/L to 1.0×10^-2 tool/L, with a Nernstian slope of 51.2 mV/decade and a limit of detection of 1.1×10^7 mol/L which is remarkably improved as a result of diminishing ion fluxes in this solid contact, ion-selective electrode. The proposed sensors display useful analytical characteristics for the determination of ROX in bulk powder and its pharmaceutical formulation. The present electrodes show clear discrimination of ROX from several inorganic, organic ions, sugars, some common drug excipients and the degradation product （3-[3-（1-piperidinyl methyl） phenoxy] propyl amine） of ROX. Furthermore, the proposed electrodes were utilized for the determination of ROX in human plasma, where electrode B covers drug Cmax which indicated its applicability to pharmacokinetic, bioavailability and bioequivalent studies. The results obtained by the proposed electrodes were statistically analyzed and compared with those obtained by a reported HPLC method. No significant difference for either accuracy or precision was observed.
