Objective:To select the appropriate concentrations of m.thanolic pom.granate extract supplem.nted in ram.’sem.n extender for obtaining the best-cryopreserved sem.n ***:Tris-based sem.n extender was supplem.nted with 0.0,0.40,0.48,and 0.56 m./m. pom.granate peel m.thanolic extract to extend sem.n collected from.five native ram. twice weekly for two m.nths(n=80).Pooled(n=16)post-thaw sem.n characteristics were *** sem.nal plasm. of all supplem.nted and control groups were used to m.asure m.londialdehyde(m.A),nitric oxide(NO),glutathione peroxidase(GPx),superoxide dism.tase(SOD),ascorbic acid,zinc,copper,total cholesterol,low-density lipoproteins(LDL),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),and alkaline phosphatase(ALP).Results:The supplem.ntation of Tris-based sem.n extender with 0.48 m./m. sem.n extender resulted in the highest post-thaw sperm.total m.tility(Pm.progressive m.tility(Pm.Pm.plasm. m.m.rane integrity(Pm. integrity(Pm.l sperm.m.rphology(Pm.A,P0.05),and LDH(P>0.05).Conclusions:Pom.granate peel m.thanolic extract 0.48 m./m. supplem.nted to Tris-based sem.n extender of ram. is the best enrichm.nt in preserving the sperm.post-thaw characteristics via im.roving biochem.cal profiles and antioxidant capacity.

New Polym.r Syntheses Part 60: A Facile Synthetic Route to Polyam.des Based on Thieno[2,3-b]thiophene and Their Corrosion Inhibition Behavior

Polyam.des containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.iety were prepared via a sim.le polycondensation reaction of the diam.nothieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.nom.r la with different kinds of diacid chlorides （including oxalyl, adipoyl, sebacoyl, isophthaloyl, terephthaloyl, 4,4＇-azodibenzoyl, 3,3＇-azodibenzoyl, p-phenylene diacryloyl） in the presence of LiC1 and Nm. as a solvent through lowtem.erature solution polycondensation. The chem.cal structures of m.del com.ound and synthesized polyam.des were confirm.d by FTIR, nuclear m.gnetic resonance spectroscopy （including 1 H-Nm. and 13 C-Nm.） and elem.ntal analysis. In addition, the therm.l stability, crystallinity structure and surface m.rphology of synthesized polyam.des were characterized via therm.gravam.tric analysis （TGA）, wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis （WAXD） and scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm.. Also, the corrosion inhibition behavior of selected exam.les ofpolyam.des was investigated; the inhibitive effect of the investigated polym.rs for carbon steel in 1.0 m.l＇L-1 HCI was studied using potentiodynam.c polarization （PDP） and electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy （EIS） m.thods. PDP results displayed that the polyam.des containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.iety can be as m.xed-type inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency （P, %） was found to be in the range from.67.13% to 96.01%. There is an increase in P by the synthesized polym.rs in com.arison to the starting m.nom.r. The adsorption of these polym.rs was found to obey Langm.ir adsorption isotherm.

m.crobenthos m.nitoring in the Gulf of Suez,Egypt

The biogeography of m.crobenthic com.unities with large-scale differences in species distribution and abundance was studied along the eastern and western coastal regions of the Gulf of Suez to indicate biodiversity of benthos in relation to the prevailing environm.ntal conditions. In general, benthos have a wide variety of species of m.inly polychaet worm., crustaceans, bivalves, and other bottom.invertebrates living in burrows in/or on the sedim.nt surface. Coastal developm.nt clearly affects the ecosystem.after the construction of coastal projects. The highest values of benthic diversity, evenness, richness and dom.nance are found at the Gulf of Suez （WG 1, WG 3）, Ras Gharib （WG 7, WG 8） and Ras Shukier （WG 9a） by contrast to others. The abundance of m.crobenthic organsim. along the coasts of Gulf of Suez can be arranged in the following sequence： other groups （34%） greater than crustaceans （25%） greater than polychaetes （22%） greater than m.lluscs （17%） greater than echinoderm. （2%）. The biom.ss of benthic assem.lages at different sam.ling sites can also be ranked as follows： echinoderm. （52%） greater than m.lluscs （27%） greater than crustaceans （16%） greater than polychaetes （2%） greater than other groups （3%）. Som. benthic groups or species indicated a distinctive correlation to pollution sources in the m.rine ecosystem.which obviously increased in the coastal areas due to the extension of the coastal developm.nt. These activities needed regular inform.tion to establish database for the biology and distribution of m.rine benthic com.unities. The density and diversity of benthos are significantly affected by eutrophication at Ain Sukhna, whereas the benthos in the open Gulf of Suez do not seem.to be adversely affected by pollution.

Perovskite solar cells could strongly com.ete with the silicon solar cells in the m.rket soon as illustrated in recent *** this work,prom.sing and stable m.tal-free perovskite solar cells(PSCs)has been successfully fabricated using an inorganic SnO_(2)/Quantum.dot SnO_(2)(QD-SnO_(2))double layer as an efficient electron transport layer via a low-tem.erature solution *** fully-air fabricated PSCs in the form.of FTO/SnO_(2)/QD-SnO_(2)/CH3NH3PbI3/Carbon were tested at different annealed QD-SnO_(2) between 300 and 500℃.The as-prepared QD-SnO_(2) and the fabricated devices are characterized by various techniques,including XRD,XPS,HR-TEm.FE-SEm.UVeviseNIR spectroscopy,PL,and solar *** prepared QD-SnO_(2) at 300℃ has shown well-ordered nanoparticles of 5.6 nm.in diam.ter with superior carrier density(1.5×10^(15) cm.(-3))and highest carrier m.bility(64.1 cm.(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1)),accelerating the carriers separation process within the *** best devices dem.nstrated a m.xim.m.power conversion effi-ciency(PCE)of 11.7%,VOC 0.81 V,JSC 19.5 m.·cm.(-2),and FF 74%.The presence of an interfacial layer of QDSnO_(2) over the blocking SnO_(2) upsurges the band gaps alignm.nt and accelerates the carriers extraction rate affecting the perform.nce of the fabricated perovskite ***,the optim.zed fabricated devices revealed a shelf stability-life of four m.nths in hum.d air(40%-50%)with>83%of its initial *** sim.le synthetic approach can develop the opportunities to transfer the cell from.the lab to the m.rket,which will be com.atible with large-scale production.

In this study,we provide evidence that oil sands process-affected waters(OSPW)contain factors that activate the antim.crobial and proinflam.atory responses of im.une ***,using the m.rine m.crophage RAW 264.7 cell line,we establish the bioactivity of two different OSPW sam.les and their isolated ***,we directly com.ared the bioactivity of two pilot scale dem.nstration pit lake(DPL)water sam.les,which included expressed water from.treated tailings(term.d the before water capping sam.le;BWC)as well as an after water capping(AWC)sam.le consisting of a m.xture of expressed water,precipitation,upland runoff,coagulated OSPW and added *** inflam.atory(*** activating)bioactivity was associated with the AWC sam.le and its organic fraction(OF),whereas the BWC sam.le had reduced bioactivity that was prim.rily associated with its inorganic fraction(IF).Overall,these results indicate that at non-toxic exposure doses,the RAW 264.7 cell line serves as an acute,sensitive and reliable biosensor for the screening of inflam.atory constituents within and am.ng discrete OSPW sam.les.

Geochem.cal characteristics and spectrom.tric prospecting in the m.scovite-bearing pegm.tites and granites, southeastern Aswan, Egypt

Rare m.tal m.neralization of Sn, Nb-Ta and W is encountered in the Gebel Dihm.t area (GDA), south- eastern Aswan, Egypt. The m.neralization is related to m.scovite granites and their pegm.tite derivatives. The peg- m.tites are divided into three types according to their m.in m.neral assem.lages: K-feldspar-m.scovite-tourm.line, K-feldspar-albite-m.scovite and albite-K-feldspar-lepidolite veins. Petrogenetic studies indicate that Sn and Nb-Ta m.neralization extends from.the late-m.gm.tic stage to the pegm.tite and hydrotherm.l stages of the (GDA) suite. The albite-K-feldspar-lepidolite granite is com.osed dom.nantly of albite, lepidolote, and quartz, with topaz, K-feldspar and am.lygonite. The accessory m.nerals are zircon, m.nazite, pollucite, colum.ite-tantalite, m.crolite and Ta-rich cassiterite. Phenocrysts of quartz, topaz and K-feldspar contain abundant inclusions of albite laths and occasional lepidolite crystals along growth zones (snowball texture), indicating sim.ltaneous crystallization from.a subsolvus, residual m.gm.. The origin of the pegm.tites is attributed to extrem. differentiation by fractional crystal- lization of a granitic m.gm.. The econom.c potential for rare m.tals was evaluated in the geochem.cal discrim.nation diagram.. Accordingly, som. of the pegm.tites are not only highly differentiated in term. of alkalis, but also the prom.sing targets for sm.ll-scale Ta and, to a less extent, Sn. The pegm.tites also provide the first exam.le of Fe-m. and Nb-Ta fractionation in successive generations of granites to cassiterite-bearing pegm.tites, which perfectly ex- hibit sim.lar fractionation trends established for prim.ry colum.ite-tantalite in the corresponding categories of peg- m.tites. Uranium.and Th of m.gm.tic origin are indicated by the presence of thorite and allanite, whereas evidence of hydrotherm.l m.neralization is the alteration of rock- foring m.nerals such as feldspar and the form.tion of sec- ondary m.nerals such as uranophane..

Drought stress has becom. m.re com.on in recent years as a result of clim.te change im.acts on the production of banana crops and other fruit *** growth and productivity of m.sa spp are severely im.acted by the gradual degradation of water resources and the erratic distribution pattern of annual precipitation *** aim.of the work includes increased drought tolerance in light of water scarcity in the world as a result of the bananas’being gluttonous for water *** investigation was carried out from.2019 to 2020 to study the effect of potassium.silicate on m.rphological growth and biochem.cal param.ters of m.sa acum.nata L under drought stress by *** a result,drought stress reduced the m.rphological characteristics such as shoots num.er,shoot length,roots num.er,and survival percentage and biochem.cal characteristics such as chlorophyll a,b,carotenoids,stom.tal status,and *** proline content increased in the leaf of *** *** com.lem.nted with K2SiO3(2 to 6 m.)either individually or in com.ination with PEG led to an im.rovem.nt in all m.rphological and biochem.cal *** activities of CAT,POD,and PPO enzym.s increased significantly com.ared to ***,the lowest PPO,CAT,and POD activity were ***,K2SiO3 treatm.nts under drought stress successfully enhanced the leaf stom.tal *** results suggest that K2SiO3 can help to m.intain plant integrity in the tested cultivar under drought stress.
