This study applies digital analysis methods of topographic data derived from digital elevation models (DEMs) and Landsat remotely sensed spectral data using GIS tools to evaluate the quality and limitations of the morphometric parameters (terrain attributes: TAs). This aims to check its suitability for digital soil mapping (DSM) and survey in urban areas at the target scale 1:50,000. This scale represents the standard scale level for compiling soil inventories within all German states. The study is conducted on an urban area of 112.68 km2 in the southwest part of the state of Berlin in Germany. These relief units are the basis for determining the soil mapping units at the scale of 1:50,000. The generated preliminary soil map was compared to soil maps made using traditional soil survey methods. For the mainly natural soils, the equivalence area is 94.91%, and for the anthropogenic soils, the equivalence area is 95.34%. The proposed methodology is adequate for preliminary mapping of soil units based on the digital derivation of TAs. Landsat scenes are spatially explicit, physical representations of environmental covariates on the land surface. The free DEM-ASTER in combination with Landsat OLI images is found to be the appropriate model to represent the terrain surface and derive the TAs for environmental modeling and fitting of derivation the relief units and their topography features. However, the 30 m spatial resolution and the fairly coarse spectral resolution of DEMs and Landsat images limit their utility for digital soil mapping at this scale in urban areas with little topographic variation.

The use of remote sensing techniques and subsequent analysis by means of geographical information system (GIS) offers an effective method for monitoring temporal and spatial changes of landscapes. This work studies the urbanization processes and associated threats to natural ecosystems and resources in the metropolitan areas of Berlin and Erlangen-Fürth-Nürnber?Schwabach (EFNS). To compute the land use/cover (LULC) of the study areas, a supervised classification of “maximum likelihood” using Landsat data for the years of 1972, 1985, 1998, 2003, and 2015 is used. Results show that the built-up area is the dominant land use in both regions throughout the study period. This land use has increased at the expense of green and open areas in EFNS and at the expense of agricultural land in Berlin. Likewise, 5% of forest in EFNS is replaced with urban infrastructure. However, the amount of forest in Berlin increased by 3%. While EFNS experienced relatively big changes in its water bodies from 1972 to 1985, changes in water bodies in Berlin were rather slight during the last 40 years. The overall accuracy of our remotely sensed LULC maps was between 88% and 94% in Berlin and between 85.87% and 87.4% for EFNS. The combination of remote sensing and GIS appears to be an indispensable tool for monitoring changes in LULC in urban areas and help improving LU planning to avoid environmental and ecological problems.

Performance of a three-phase shunt active power filter(SAPF)relies on the capability of the controller to track the reference ***,designing an accurate current controller is crucial to guarantee satisfactory SAPF *** paper presents a model predictive current controller(MPCC)for a low-cost,four-switch,shunt active power filter for power quality improvement.A four-switch,B4,converter topology is adopted as an SAPF,hence offering a simple,robust,and low-cost *** addition,to further reduce overall cost,only two interfacing filter inductors,instead of three,are used to eliminate switching current *** proposed SAPF model MPCC is detailed for implementation,where simulation and experimental results validate effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm showing a 20%improvement in total harmonic distortion compared with a conventional hysteresis band current controller.

Poor stability and dispersibility,as well as aggregation are considered as major challenges in clinical application of iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs).Several studies have shown that the synthesis parameters and post-synthesis treatments e.g.,drying methods,have the capability to improve the particles'***,we investigate the combined effect of synthesis and post-treatment parameters on the particle size,stability and magnetism of ***(Fe_(3)O_(4))NPs were prepared via co-precipitation and post-treated using different methods,i.e.(i)freeze dried at-53℃,0.133 mbar for 48 h(liquid nitrogen frozen(LFD)and freezer frozen(FFD)),(ii)vacuum oven dried(VOD)at 60℃for 24 h,and(iii)kept wet colloidal(WET),dispersed in deionized *** Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs’chemical functional groups,size,shape,crystallinity,stability,aggregation,porosity,and magnetic properties were further analysed using different characterisation *** results showed that,while the WET sample had the best stability and significantly less aggregation at different temperatures,amongst post-treated Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs,LFD sample exhibited the best stability(up to 37℃),dispersion and smallest polydispersity ***,all dried NPs had superparamagnetic characteristics,while,LFD Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs had better magnetic properties and stability than other drying methods.

After the first research with this technique done by the first author, ten operations on the foot and ankle were performed on five patients (two boys and three girls) suffering from severe club foot deformity all with bilateral foot affection. Their ages ranged from five to fourteen years. All of them were treated by soft tissue release, skin flap (rotational flap), supplemented with Alkhooly external fixator. The follow up period ranged from two to seven years. The results according to Mittal (1987) [1] were excellent in eight feet (80%) and good in two feet (20%).

Background: Although not life-saving procedures like liver or heart transplantation, renal transplantation is the preferred treatment for many patients with end-stage renal disease because it improves patients’ quality of life, while other forms of renal replacement therapy (RRT) such as haemodialysis (HDX) shown to regain only 10% of the patient’s renal function [1]. Transplantation releases patients from the dietary and fluid restrictions and the physical constraints imposed by other forms of (RRT), patients become able to return to their normal activities. Patient’s 5-year survival is higher post transplant. Patients and methods: This is Descriptive, retro-prospective, cross sectional analytic and multicentre study done in Ahmed Gasim Cardiac and Renal Transplant Centre including 105 patients. After meeting the Inclusion Criteria and exclusion Criteria, then cases were selected and written in constructed questionnaire. The aim of the study was to evaluate the outcome of renal transplantation in Sudan. Results: 105 cases were used with male predominate and ratio male to female ratio 3:1, the main age of presentation between 31 - 45 years, most of the patients discharge uneventful with good outcome. During one-year follow-up following renal transplantation. Patient survival 95.2 % graft survival 82.4%. Overall morbidity shows 70.5%. Conclusion: this study showed that the one-year patient survival of 95.2%. Actuarial one-year graft survival of 92.4%. Renal transplantation complications can be reduced by meticulous preoperative workup including good cardiovascular assessment, tissue mismatch and BMI good postoperative follow up for early detection of graft rejection and long-term complications and finally patient education.
