Background:Rheumatic heart disease(RHD)remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa despite widely available preventive therapies such as prophylactic benzathine penicillin G(BPG).In this study,we sought to characterize facilitators and barriers to optimal RHD treatment with BPG in ***:We conducted a mixed-methods study,collecting survey data from 397 patients who were enrolled in a national RHD registry between July and November *** cross-sectional surveys included information on demographics,healthcare access,and patient perspectives on treatment barriers and *** associated with increased likelihood of RHD treatment adherence to prophylactic BPG were assessed by using adjusted logistic *** data were enhanced by focus group discussions with 20 participants,to further explore health system factors impacting RHD ***:Our quantitative analysis revealed that only 32%of the study cohort reported optimal prophylaxis *** age,reduced primary RHD healthcare facility wait time,perception of adequate health facility staffing,increased treatment costs,and high patient knowledge about RHD were significantly associated with increased odds of treatment *** data revealed significant barriers to RHD treatment arising from health services factors at the health system level,including lack of access due to inadequate healthcare staffing,lack of faith in local healthcare systems,poor ancillary services,and patient lack of understanding of *** of RHD treatment included strong interpersonal ***:Multiple patient and system-level barriers to RHD prophylaxis adherence were identified in Khartoum,*** included patient self-efficacy and participant perception of healthcare facility *** local health system infrastructure,while enhancing RHD patient education,may help to improve treatment adherence in this vulnerable populatio

TAU is a microtubule-associated protein that promotes microtubule assembly and stability in the *** is missorted and aggregated in an array of diseases known as *** are essential for neuronal function and regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications,changes of which affect microtubule stability and dynamics,microtubule interaction with other proteins and cellular structures,and mediate recruitment of microtubule-severing *** impairment of microtubule dynamics causes neuronal dysfunction,we hypothesize cognitive impairment in human disease to be impacted by impairment of microtubule *** therefore aimed to study the effects of a disease-causing mutation of TAU(P301L)on the levels and localization of microtubule post-translational modifications indicative of microtubule stability and dynamics,to assess whether P301L-TAU causes stability-changing modifications to *** investigate TAU localization,phosphorylation,and effects on tubulin post-translational modifications,we expressed wild-type or P301L-TAU in human MAPT-KO induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neurons(i Neurons)and studied TAU in neurons in the hippocampus of mice transgenic for human P301L-TAU(p R5 mice).Human neurons expressing the longest TAU isoform(2N4R)with the P301L mutation showed increased TAU phosphorylation at the AT8,but not the p-Ser-262 epitope,and increased polyglutamylation and acetylation of microtubules compared with endogenous TAU-expressing neurons.P301L-TAU showed pronounced somatodendritic presence,but also successful axonal enrichment and a similar axodendritic distribution comparable to exogenously expressed 2N4R-wildtype-TAU.P301L-TAU-expressing hippocampal neurons in transgenic mice showed prominent missorting and tauopathy-typical AT8-phosphorylation of TAU and increased polyglutamylation,but reduced acetylation,of microtubules compared with non-transgenic *** sum,P301L-TAU results in changes in micr

Designing a robust controller for a system with timevarying delays poses a major challenge. In this paper, we propose a method based on mixed sensitivity H∞ for the control of linear time invariant（LTI） systems with varying time delays. The time delay is assumed bounded and the upper bound is known. In the technique we propose, the delay affecting the plant to be controlled is treated as an unmodeled uncertainty（in form of multiplicative uncertainty）. That uncertainty is approximated and then an H∞based controller, for the plant represented by the multiplicative uncertainty and the nominal model, is calculated. The obtained H∞controller is used to control the LTI systems with varying time delays. Simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Computation of stereoscopic depth and disparity map extraction are dynamic research topics.A large variety of algorithms has been developed,among which we cite feature matching, moment extraction, and image representation using descriptors to determine a disparity map. This paper proposes a new method for stereo matching based on Fourier descriptors. The robustness of these descriptors under photometric and geometric transformations provides a better representation of a template or a local region in the image. In our work, we specifically use generalized Fourier descriptors to compute a robust cost ***, a box filter is applied for cost aggregation to enforce a smoothness constraint between neighboring pixels. Optimization and disparity calculation are done using dynamic programming, with a cost based on similarity between generalized Fourier descriptors using Euclidean distance. This local cost function is used to optimize correspondences. Our stereo matching algorithm is evaluated using the Middlebury stereo benchmark; our approach has been implemented on parallel high-performance graphics hardware using CUDA to accelerate our algorithm, giving a real-time implementation.

A new strategy is presented to solve robust multi-physics multi-objective optimization problem known as improved multi-objective collaborative optimization （IMOCO） and its extension improved multi-objective robust collaborative （IMORCO）. In this work, the proposed IMORCO approach combined the IMOCO method, the worst possible point （WPP） constraint cuts and the Genetic algorithm NSGA-II type as an optimizer in order to solve the robust optimization problem of multi-physics of microstructures with uncertainties. The optimization problem is hierarchically decomposed into two levels： a microstructure level, and a disciplines levels, For validation purposes, two examples were selected： a numerical example, and an engineering example of capacitive micro machined ultrasonic transducers （CMUT） type. The obtained results are compared with those obtained from robust non-distributed and distributed optimization approach, non-distributed multi-objective robust optimization （NDMORO） and multi-objective collaborative robust optimization （McRO）, respectively. Results obtained from the application of the IMOCO approach to an optimization problem of a CMUT cell have reduced the CPU time by 44% ensuring a Pareto front close to the reference non-distributed multi-objective optimization （NDMO） approach （mahalanobis distance, D2M =0.9503 and overall spread, So=0.2309）. In addition, the consideration of robustness in IMORCO approach applied to a CMUT cell of optimization problem under interval uncertainty has reduced the CPU time by 23% keeping a robust Pareto front overlaps with that obtained by the robust NDMORO approach （D2M =10.3869 and So=0.0537）.

This manuscript presents the comprehensive study of thickness stretching effects on the free vibration,static stability and bending of multilayer functionally graded(FG)carbon nanotubes reinforced composite(CNTRC)*** nanoscale and microstructure influences are considered through a modified nonlocal strain gradient continuum *** on power-law functions,four different patterns of CNTs distribution are considered in this analysis,a uniform distribution UD,FG-V CNTRC,FG-X CNTRC,and FG-O CNTRC.A 3D kinematic shear deformation theory is proposed to include the stretching influence,which is neglected in classical ***'s principle is applied to derive the governing equations of motion and associated boundary *** solutions are developed based on Galerkin method to solve the governing equilibrium equations based on the generalized higher-order shear deformation theory and the nonlocal strain gradient theory and get the static bending,buckling loads,and natural frequencies of *** with previous works is presented.A detailed parametric analysis is carried out to highlight the impact of thickness stretching,length scale parameter(nonlocal),material scale parameter(gradient),CNTs distribution pattern,geometry of the plate,various boundary conditions and the total number of layers on the stresses,deformation,critical buckling loads and vibration *** new results are also reported in the current study,which will serve as a benchmark for future research.
