A Typical Case of Classic Potter’s Syndrome: A Case Report

Potter syndrome is a rare congenital malformation that primarily affects male fetuses;it is characterized by pulmonary hypoplasia, skeletal malformation, and kidney abnormalities. The pressure of the uterine wall due to oligohydramnios leads to an unusual facial appearance, abnormal limbs in abnormal positions, or contractures. The fetus generally dies soon after birth due to respiratory insufficiency. The baby was a live preterm male, born to a 30-year-old multigravida, out of a non-consanguineous marriage via cesarean section. There was no liquor at the time of delivery. The baby did not cry immediately after birth and required resuscitation, followed by mechanical ventilation. Multiple congenital anomalies suggestive of Potter’s syndrome were noted including facial features, flattened nose, low protruding ear, retrognathism, and epicanthal folds with unilateral atresia of the choana. Chest X-ray showed small volume lung fields suggestive of pulmonary hypoplasia, and we had on ultrasonography bilateral polycystic kidney disease on ultrasonography. At 42 hours of life, the baby developed tachypnea and severe chest retractions and died due to respiratory insufficiency. Our case highlights the importance of regular prenatal checks and examinations in each pregnancy, which helps to collect suspected cases and improve knowledge of this syndrome for better management.

This paper discusses a search problem for a Helix target motion in which any information of the target position is not available to the searchers. There exist three searchers start searching for the target from the origin. The purpose of this paper is to formulate a search model and finds the conditions under which the expected value of the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. Also, the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of the first meeting time is shown. Furthermore,this optimal search plan is found. The effectiveness of this method is illustrated by using an example with numerical results.

Microsoft Excel is essential for the End-User Approach (EUA), offering versatility in data organization, analysis, and visualization, as well as widespread accessibility. It fosters collaboration and informed decision-making across diverse domains. Conversely, Python is indispensable for professional programming due to its versatility, readability, extensive libraries, and robust community support. It enables efficient development, advanced data analysis, data mining, and automation, catering to diverse industries and applications. However, one primary issue when using Microsoft Excel with Python libraries is compatibility and interoperability. While Excel is a widely used tool for data storage and analysis, it may not seamlessly integrate with Python libraries, leading to challenges in reading and writing data, especially in complex or large datasets. Additionally, manipulating Excel files with Python may not always preserve formatting or formulas accurately, potentially affecting data integrity. Moreover, dependency on Excel’s graphical user interface (GUI) for automation can limit scalability and reproducibility compared to Python’s scripting capabilities. This paper covers the integration solution of empowering non-programmers to leverage Python’s capabilities within the familiar Excel environment. This enables users to perform advanced data analysis and automation tasks without requiring extensive programming knowledge. Based on Soliciting feedback from non-programmers who have tested the integration solution, the case study shows how the solution evaluates the ease of implementation, performance, and compatibility of Python with Excel versions.

A field experiment was carried out at Ismailia Research Station, Ismailia Governorate from 2020-2022 to improve the growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni by using a combination of mineral fertilizer (NPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter chroococcum, Bacillus megatherium, and Bacillus circulant) as recommended dose under new sandy soils conditions. Split plot designed with four treatments (Control, (50% Mineral fertilizer (M.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% M. and 100% Bio.) of each species. Vegetative growth, leaf area, tree biomass, stored carbon, basal area, tree volume, and in the soil both of microbial account and mineral content were determined. The experimental results showed no significant differences between studied species among the most studied parameters except for Khaya senegalensis which gave the highest significant difference in root biomass and below-stored carbon than Swietenia mahagoni. Evidently, the highest significant growth parameters were 100% mineral fertilizer followed by (50% M. + 50% Bio.) as compared with control. No significant difference between 100% M. and (50% M. + 50% Bio.) of shoot dry biomass (15.19 and 12.02 kg, respectively) and above-stored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 Mt, respectively). Microbial account and mineral content in soil were improved after cultivation of tree species compared to before planting and control, especially with 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatment. In conclusion, a treatment containing 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer has led to the ideal Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni growth in sandy soil for cheaper and sustainable.

Lao.7Sr0.3Mnl_xNixO3 （x = 0, 0.025, 0.050 and 0.075） ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method. The partial substitution of Mn by Ni2＋ leads to a decrease in cell volume as well as a structural transition from the rhombohedral to the orthorhombic structure. Ni2＋ doping increases the electrical resistivity, decreases the semiconductor-metal transition temperature （Tms） and relatively enhances the room temperature magnetoresistance （MR）, especially in x = 0.025 and around Tins. With respect to conduction mechanism, the small polaron hopping （SPH） and the variable range hopping （VRH） models were used to ex- amine conduction in the semiconducting region.

The Egyptian Nubian Shield(ENS)represents the northwestern part of the Arabian-Nubian Shield and the northern extension of the East African *** ENS is regarded as being formed due to northward-directed escape *** is characterized by mild accretion and suture zones dominated by major strike-slip zones with a commonly sinistral sense of movement;some shear zones display a dextral sense of *** is dominated by gneisses and migmatites in the south,arc volcaniclastic metasediments and highly dismembered ophiolites in the central parts,whereas its northern part is dominated by late-to post-tectonic *** southern Sinai,the Neoproterozoic rocks are grouped into four complexes,namely Feiran–Solaf,Sa’al–Zaghra,Kid and *** ENS ophiolites were formed between 730–750 Ma,mainly in a supra-subduction zone *** ENS has undergone a Neoproterozoic deformation history involving three successive phases:(1)Early N–S shortening phase(D1),(2)Syn-accretionary phase(D2)and(3)Post-accretionary phase(D3).The initial island-arc stage(780–730 Ma)is a N–S shortening phase initiated by collision between the Eastern Desert tectonic terrane to the north with both the Gebeit and Gabgaba terranes to the south(830–720 Ma).During the arc-splitting and back-arc spreading stage(730–620),voluminous syn-tectonic granitoids intruded into the ENS(750–610 Ma).The E–W-directed compressional/transpressional phase(620–450 Ma)led to the overall uplift of the central part of the ENS and consequently the development and exhumation of the core complexes in oblique convergent *** E–W intense shortening deformation resulted also in the formation of NW-and NE-striking sinistral and dextral strike-slip shear zones,*** latest periods of the E–W-directed compressional/transpressional regime were characterized by deposition of the molasse-type Hammamat Sediments unconformably over the Dokhan Volcanics,or interbedded with *** combined thrusting,folding and sin

The current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The first group was infected orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orbital plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total globulins significantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that globulin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were significantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the infected group. The molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ITS1, ITS2 and NDI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ITS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitable for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the bile ducts. This study is the first to evaluate the phytochemical content and biological properties of Tunisian *** Scop.A total of 23 compounds of essential oils were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)analysis of bracts and fruit *** results show that oxygenated monoterpenes were the dominant class of essential *** phenolic composition was investigated by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionizationtime of flight(MALDI-TOF).The analysis showed that the chemical profiles of the ethanolic extracts of bracts and fruits are substantially *** highest polyphenol content was found in the ethanolic extracts of the fruits(7.65 mg gallic acid equivalents(GAE).g−1 on dry weight(DW).As for the antioxidant capacity,it was recorded in the essential oils of the fruits(IC_(50)=0.91 ***^(−1)).The results obtained showed that the antioxidant activity of the fruit essential oil was higher than that of the ethanol *** fruit essential oil was also found to have the highest reducing power(IC_(50)=0.67 ***^(−1)).In terms of iron-chelating power,fruit essential oil has the highest chelating power(IC_(50)=2.03 ***^(−1)).Compared to the ethanolic extract,the essential oil had the maximum antioxidant *** enzymatic activity of acetylcholinesterase(AChE)inhibition of the essential oil from *** bracts had the most potent inhibitory effect(IC_(50)=0.77 ***^(−1)),followed by the essential oil from the fruits(IC_(50)=0.95 ***^(−1)).The results suggest that *** can be used as a potential source of naturally occurring bioactive compounds and antioxidants.
