Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic and progressive cholestatic liver disease that often leads to the development of *** of PSC include pruritus,fatigue,vitamin deficiencies,metabolic bone disease,dominant biliary strictures,gallstones,and hepatobiliary malignancies,most commonly cholangiocarcinoma (CCA).Despite the presumed autoimmune etiology of PSC,a clear benefit from immunosuppressive agents has not yet been established,and their use is limited by their side *** is required in evaluation of biliary strictures in PSC to rule out the possibility of *** transplantation is currently the only life-extending therapy for patients with end-stage ***,disease recurrence can be a source of morbidity and mortality as transplanted patients survive *** studies are needed to develop an optimal therapeutic strategy for patients with PSC to decrease the incidence of complications of the disease,to decrease the need for transplantation,and to extend life expectancy.

BACKGRoUND Retrograde single balloon enteroscopy(SBE)is a minimally invasive procedure which is less frequently performed compared with antegrade *** are few studies on the retrograde through-the-scope enteroscopy(TTSE),a novel technique for evaluation of the small *** To compare the clinical utility and safety of retrograde TTSE with retrograde *** Clinical data and complications of retrograde TTSE(2014-2018)and retrograde SBE(2011-2018)performed in a community hospital were reviewed and presented as mean±SD or frequency(%)and compared using proper statistical *** success was defined as insertion of the enteroscope>20 cm beyond ileocecal *** Data obtained from 54 retrograde SBE in 49 patients and 27 retrograde TTSE in 26 patients were *** most common indication for retrograde enteroscopy was iron deficiency anemia(41 patients)followed by gastrointestinal bleeding(37 patients),and chronic diarrhea(7 patients).The duration of retrograde SBE procedure(91.9±34.2 min)was significantly longer compared with retrograde TTSE(70.5±30.7 min)(P=0.04).Technical success was comparable in TTSE[23/27(85.2%)]and SBE[41/54(75.9%)(P=0.33)].The mean depth of insertion beyond the ileocecal valve in retrograde SBE(92.5±70.0 cm)tended to be longer compared with retrograde TTSE(64.6±49.0 cm)(P=0.08).No complication was observed in this *** Both retrograde TTSE and retrograde SBE are feasible and *** TTSE takes a shorter time and has a comparable technical success with *** has a lower capacity of small bowel insertion.

This research uses both three-dimensional(3D)modeling and geologic well control to piece back together the architectural parts of the Late Cretaceous *** goal is to figure out the sizes,directions,locations,and controls of the layers of the fluvial sandstone *** stratigraphy is essential for 3D reservoir modeling and petroleum geology understanding in the Bahga *** purpose of this work is to create a static model that shows the layers and facies distribution in the reservoir *** will use data from nine well logs and 22 seismic lines calibrated by the Abu Roash G Member reservoir core intervals to accomplish *** petrophysical study discovered three parts in the Abu Roash G Member reservoir rock:channel fill that is affected by tides,channel fill that is dominated by tides(intertidal sands),and channel top with lenticular bedded *** model's findings point to the existence of an NNW-oriented sand body,which could be a prime location to produce *** original oil in place(ooIP)is about 3,438,279 Stock Tank Barrels(STB),and the oil reserve reaches up to 1,031,484(STB).Sequence stratigraphic analysis using seismic and well log information(SB)reveals that the Upper Cretaceous AR/G reservoir of the Bahga field is characterized by third-and fourth-order stratigraphic sequences,which are constrained by three Maximum Flooding Surfaces(MFS)and two Sequence *** integration of the derived geological model and sequence stratigraphic results can lower future extraction risk by identifying the locations and trends of the geologic facies with the necessary petrophysical properties for the hydrocarbon accumulations.

Understanding the origins of potential source rocks and unraveling the intricate connections between reservoir oils and their source formations in the Siwa Basin(Western Desert,Egypt)necessitate a thorough oil-source correlation *** objective is achieved through a meticulous analysis of well-log responses,Rock-Eval pyrolysis,and biomarker *** analysis of Total organic Carbon across 31 samples representing Paleozoic formations in the Siwa A-1X well reveals a spectrum of organic richness ranging from 0.17 wt%to 2.04 wt%,thereby highlighting diverse levels of organic content and the presence of both Type II and Type III *** of the fingerprint characteristics of eight samples from the well suggests that the Dhiffah Formation comprises a blend of terrestrial and marine organic ***,a significant contribution from more oxidized residual organic matter and gas-prone Type III kerogen is ***,the Desouky and Zeitoun formations exhibit mixed organic matter indicative of a transitional environment,and thus featuring a pronounced marine influence within a more reducing setting,which is associated with Type II *** analysis of five oil samples from different wells—SIWA L-1X,SIWA R-3X,SIWA D-1X,PTAH 5X,and PTAH 6X,it is evident that terrestrial organic matter,augmented by considerable marine input,was deposited in an oxidizing environment,and contains Type III *** scrutiny confirms the coexistence of mixed terrestrial organic matter within varying redox *** is the uniformity of identified kerogen Types II and III across all samples,known to have potential for hydrocarbon *** discovery presented in this paper unveils captivating prospects concerning the genesis of oil in the Jurassic Safa reservoir,suggesting potential links to Paleozoic sources or even originating from the Safa Member *** revelations mark a substantial advancement in understanding source

Steroidal glycoalkaloids(SGAs)are specialized metabolites produced by hundreds of Solanum species,including important vegetable crops such as tomato,potato,and *** it has been known that SGAs play important roles in defense in plants and“anti-nutritional"effects(e.g.,toxicity and bitterness)to humans,many of these molecules have documented anti-cancer,anti-microbial,antiinflammatory,anti-viral,and anti-pyretic *** these,α-solasonine andα-solamargine isolated from black nightshade(Solanum nigrum)are reported to have potent anti-tumor,anti-proliferative,and anti-inflammatory ***,α-solasonine andα-solamargine,along with the core steroidal aglycone solasodine,are the most widespread SGAs produced among the Solanum ***,it is still unknown how plants synthesize these bioactive steroidal *** comparative metabolomictranscriptome-guided approach,biosynthetic logic,combinatorial expression in Nicotiana benthamiana,and functional recombinant enzyme assays,here we report the discovery of 12 enzymes from *** that converts the starting cholesterol precursorto solasodine aglycone,and the downstreamα-solasonine,α-solamargine,and malonyl-solamargine SGA *** further identified six enzymes from cultivated eggplant that catalyze the production ofα-solasonine,α-solamargine,and malonyl-solamargine SGAs from solasodine aglycone via glycosylation and atypical malonylation *** work provides the gene tool box and platform for engineering the production of high-value,steroidal bioactive molecules inheterologoushosts usingsyntheticbiology.
