Hepatitis C virus(HCV) is a global challenge; 130-175 million are chronically infected. Over 350000 die each year from HCV. Chronic HCV is the primary cause of cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), and end-stage liver disease. Management of chronic HCV is aimed at preventing cirrhosis, reducing the risk of HCC, and treating extra hepatic complications. New treatments for chronic HCV has been devoted based on direct-acting antivirals, as pegylated interferon(peginterferon) is responsible for many side effects and limits treatment access. Sofosbuvir is the first compound to enter the market with Peginterferon-free combination regimens.

Objectives: The main objective was to study the epidemiological, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of medullary aplasia (MA). Methods: This was a prospective and descriptive retro study conducted from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2018 in the pediatric oncology unit of the pediatrics department of the Gabriel Touré teaching Hospital in Bamako. Results: We collected 29 children’s cases out of 1632 admissions during the study period, representing a frequency of 1.8% and an incidence of 2.6 cases per year. The sex ratio was 2.6. The 11 - 15 age group accounted for 45%, with an average age of 8.93 years. The majority of fathers (55.2%) and mothers (62.1%) had received no education;they were mainly farmers (62.1%) and housewives (86.2%). The average consultation time was 92.21 days. Anemia was the reason for consultation in 69% of cases. Pallor was present on admission in 96.5%;infectious syndrome accounted for 79.3%, anemic syndrome for 51.7% and hemorrhagic syndrome for 27.6%;the three syndromes were associated in 27.6%. Malaria was associated with bone marrow aplasia in 58.6%. Anemia was present in 93.1%, neutropenia in 65.5% and thrombocytopenia in 86.2%. All had received a labile blood product (LBP) transfusion, and 24 (83%) had received antibiotics. Patients were treated with corticosteroids (58.6%), androgens (20.7%) and immunosuppressants (20.7%). The death rate was 34.6%. At last count, 15 (83%) had discontinued treatment, 2 (11%) were undergoing treatment and 1 (6%) was in remission. Conclusion: Effective treatment of MA requires improved technical facilities and better economic conditions for parents.

The Saghro massif constitutes a vast metallogenic province with numerous deposits and shows of base metals (lead, zinc, copper) and precious metals (gold and silver), besides various useful substances (talc, pyrophyllite, barite, fluorite). Silver/lead occurrences are concentrated along the Cryogenian Imiter series and moderately at Boumalne and Sidi Flah. Copper occupies the plutonic intrusions and intrusive rocks of the East-Central Saghro while barite deposits are widespread throughout the Cambrian cover of the East Saghro in contact with the Ediacaran basement. To justify this distribution, the new contributions of the cartography and the organic geochemistry of the black shales of Jbel Saghro have clearly shown the particularity of the Imiter black shales in terms of the richness in organic matter (TOC = 0.18%), the blackish color and the friability. The Boumalne and Sidi Flah groups present some similarities with the Imiter group, such as the sub-equatorial structuring, the friable pelites and the richness in organic matter (Boumalne TOC = 0.11% and SidiFlah TOC = 0.16%), which is a quite good show that requires to reinforce the exploration works. For Western Saghro in the Iknioun and Qalaa’t M’Gouna groups, the variations in the thickness of the volcanic cover show an irregular paleotopography with hard, greenish, organic-poor pelitic sediments (TOC = 0.01 to 0.04%). We can conclude that the formation of Imiter-type silver concentrations requires the combination of the sedimentological, the volcanic and structural factors. For Imiter-type silver these factors are: a fine pelitic and argillic casing deposited in a confined environment, a basic volcanism source of metals and other intermediate to acid generated by the hydrothermalism and heat, a convenable paleotopography and a network of fracturations to trap the mineralizations.

AIM: To study the preoperative and postoperative role of upper esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD) in morbidly obese patients. METHODS: This is a multicenter retrospective study by reviewing the database of patients who underwent bariatric surgery(laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic Roux en Y gastric bypass, or laparoscopic minigastric bypass) in the period between 2001 June and 2015 August(Jahra Hospital-Kuwait, Hafr Elbatin Hospital and King Saud Medical City-KSA, and Mansoura University Hospital- Egypt). Patients with age 18-65 years, body mass index(BMI) > 40, or > 35 with comorbidities after failure of many dietetic regimen and acceptable levels of surgical risk were included in the study after having an informed signed consent. We retrospectively reviewed the medical charts of all morbidly obese patients. The patients' preoperative data included clinical history including upper digestive symptoms and preoperative full workup including EGD. Only patients whose charts revealed weather they were symptomatic or not were studied. We categorized patients accordingly into two groups; with(group A) or without(group B) upper digestive symptoms. The endoscopic findings were categorized into 4 groups based on predetermined criteria. The medical record of patients who developed stricture, leak or bleeding after bariatric surgery was reviewed. Logestic regression analysis was used to identify preoperative predictors that might be associated with abnormal endoscopic findings. RESULTS: Three thousand, two hundred and nineteen patients in the study period underwent bariatric surgery(75% LSG, 10% LRYDB, and 15% MGB). Mean BMI was 43 ± 13, mean age 37 ± 9 years, 79% were female. Twenty eight percent had presented with upper digestive symptoms(group A). EGD was considered normal in 2414(75%) patients(9% group A vs 66% group B, P = 0.001). The abnormal endoscopic findings were found high in those patients with upper digestive symptoms. Colorectal cancers （CRC） account for frequent and serious cancers which result from the interaction between individual genetic factors and environmental factors, and in particular widely studied nutritional ones. The role of other occupational factors remains a controversial subject. The objective of this study is to evaluate the possible impact of occupational factors on the risk of developing CRC. Materials and Methods： This is a retrospective case-control study. The cases and the control group were enlisted in the general surgical ward of Farhat Hached Teaching Hospital of Sousse （Tunisia） during the period extending from 2004 to 2008, and they were age and gender-matched. The data were analyzed using SPSS 11.0 software with a signification threshold fixed at 5%. A univariate analysis was carried out as well as a multiple binary logistical regression. Results： During the period of the study, 40 cases of colorectal cancers have been colligated including 28 men and 12 women with a sex ratio of 0.43. The average age of the cases was 61.55 ± 13.3 years and 60.40 ± 12.84 years for the control group, with a non significant difference （P = 0.69）. The univariate analysis has objectivized significant associations between colorectal cancer and the housing conditions, the neoplastic and digestive family history, the occupational activity sector, exposure to pesticides, and lack of periodic medical supervision. After logistical regression, the occurrence risk of CRC was significantly associated with： alcohol and smoking （ORa = 3.43; Pa = 0.05）, meat consumption （ORa = 3.34; Pa = 0.03）, exposure to pesticides （ORa = 20.44; Pa = 0.012） and lack of periodic medical supervision （OR = 7.45; P = 0.004）. Conclusion： The occupational risk factors might play a role in the etiopathogenesis of colorectal cancers. With regard to our study, pesticides seem to be most implicated and necessitate suitable preventive measures. Nevertheless, it seems useful to multiply the studies to a much l

Sordariomycetes is one of the largest classes of Ascomycota that comprises a highly diverse range of fungi characterized mainly by perithecial ascomata and inoperculate unitunicate *** class includes many important plant pathogens,as well as endophytes,saprobes,epiphytes,coprophilous and fungicolous,lichenized or lichenicolous *** occur in terrestrial,freshwater and marine habitats *** paper reviews the 107 families of the class Sordariomycetes and provides a modified backbone tree based on phylogenetic analysis of four combined loci,with a maximum five representative taxa from each family,where *** paper brings together for the first time,since Barrs’1990 Prodromus,descriptions,notes on the history,and plates or illustrations of type or representative taxa of each family,a list of accepted genera,including asexual genera and a key to these taxa of *** of taxa is supported where possible by molecular *** outline is based on literature to the end of 2015 and the Sordariomycetes now comprises six subclasses,32 orders,105 families and 1331 *** family Obryzaceae and Pleurotremataceae are excluded from the class.

严格控制由刺盘孢属(Colletotrichum spp.)真菌引起的炭疽病对减少热带水果工业的经济损失十分重要。本文主要研究了阿拉伯胶(GA)(10%)、柠檬香草精油(LG)(0.05%)、肉桂精油(CM)(0.4%)及其复合组分在试验条件下对离体与活体香蕉和番木瓜炭疽病菌的抑制活性。结果表明,0.05%的LG和0.4%的CM对于引起香蕉和番木瓜炭疽病的两种病原菌Colletotrichum musae和Colletotrichum gloeosporioides分别具有抑制活性;单独GA处理并未表现出抑菌活性,但将0.05%LG、0.4%CM与10%GA混合处理则具有较大的抑菌活性;在各处理中,以PDA培养基中加入10%GA及0.4%CM的处理对***和***这两种病原菌抑制活性最显著,对于两种病原菌菌丝生长抑制率分别为73.4%和70.0%,对孢子萌发抑制率分别为88%和85%。活体试验结果也表明,10%GA结合0.4%的CM处理具有最佳的作用效果,对***和***的抑制方面表现出较强的增效作用,对人工接种的香蕉和番木瓜炭疽病导致的腐烂抑制率分别为80%和71%。品质评价的试验结果也表明,10%GA结合0.4%CM的涂膜处理具有良好效果,果实失重率、硬度、可溶性固形物和可滴定酸含量的变化均表明该处理可显著推迟果实的成熟。上述结果表明,10%阿拉伯胶结合0.4%肉桂精油处理可以作为控制诸如香蕉和番木瓜等常见热带水果采后炭疽病的生物杀菌剂。
