The scientific community faces the challenge of measuring progress toward biodiversity targets and indices have been tra.itionally ***,recent inventories in secondary tropical mountain forests using tra.itional biodiversity indices have yielded results that are indistinct with primary *** shows the need to develop complementary indices that goes beyond species count but integrates the distribution and conserva.ion status of the *** study developed endemicity and conserva.ion importance index for tropical forest that incorporated the distribution and conserva.ion status of the *** indices were applied to ***,a remnant primary mossy forest in Buguias,Benguet,Philippines,that resulted to endemicity index of 81.07 and conserva.ion importance index of *** these with secondary forest sites with comparable Shannon-Wiener,Simpson,Evenness and Margalef’s indices,our endemicity and conserva.ion indices clearly differentiates primary forest(our study site)with higher values from secondary forests with much lower ***,we are proposing these indices for a direct but scientifically-informed identifica.ion of specific sites for conserva.ion and protection in tropical ***,our study documented a total of 168 vascular plant species(79 endemic and 12 locally threatened species)in *** are of tropical elements for both generic and species levels with some temperate elements that could be attributed to the site's high eleva.ion and semi-temperate *** are important baseline informa.ion for conserva.ion plans and monitoring of tropical mossy forests.

Ba.illus thuringiensis(Bt)cotton production is challenged by two main problems,i.e.,the low concentra.ion of Bt protein at the boll setting stage and the lowest insect resistance in bolls among all the cotton plant’s ***,increa.ing the Bt protein concentra.ion at the boll stage,especially in bolls,has become the main goal for increa.ing insect resistance in *** this study,two protein degrada.ion inhibitors(ethylene dia.ine tetra acetic a.id(EDTA)and leupeptin)were sprayed on the bolls,subtending leaves,and whole cotton plants at the peak flowering stage of two Bt cultivars(medium matura.ion Sikang 1(SK1))and early matura.ion Zhongmian 425(ZM425)in 2019 and *** Bt protein content and protein degrada.ion metabolism were *** results showed that the Bt protein concentra.ions were enhanced by 21.3 to 38.8%and 25.0 to 38.6%in the treated bolls of SK1 and ZM425 respectively,while they were decreased in the subtending leaves of these treated *** the treated leaves,the Bt protein concentra.ions increased by 7.6 to 23.5%and 11.2 to 14.9%in SK1 and ZM425,*** combined applica.ion of EDTA and leupeptin to the whole cotton plant increased the Bt protein concentra.ions in both bolls and subtending *** Bt protein concentra.ions in bolls were higher,increa.ing by 22.5 to 31.0%and 19.6 to 32.5%for SK1 and ZM425,*** organs treated with EDTA or/and leupeptin showed reduced free a.ino a.id contents,protease and peptidase activities and significant enhancements in soluble protein *** results indicated that inhibiting protein degrada.ion could improve the protein content,thus increa.ing the Bt protein concentra.ions in the bolls or/and leaves of cotton ***,the increase in the Bt protein concentra.ion without yield reduction suggested that these two protein degrada.ion inhibitors may be applicable for improving insect resistance in cotton production.

The transverse momentum distributions of charged hadrons produced in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies(√s)of 0.9 TeV and 2.36 TeV,as measured by the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC),have been analyzed within va.ious pseudora.idity classes utilizing the thermodyna.ically consistent Tsallis *** fitting procedure resulted in the key parameters,namely,effective temperature(T),non-extensivity parameter(q),and kinetic freezeout volume(V).Additionally,the mean transverse momentum()and initial temperature(T_(i))of the particle source are determined through the fit function and string percola.ion method,*** alterna.ive method is employed to calculate the kinetic freezeout temperature(T_(0))and transverse flow velocity(β_(T))from ***,thermodyna.ic quantities at the freezeout,including energy density(ε),particle density(n),entropy density(s),pressure(P),and squared speed of sound(C_(s)^(2)),are computed using the extracted T and *** is also observed that,with a decrease in pseudora.idity,all thermodyna.ic quantities except V and q *** trend is attributed to greater energy transfer along the mid pseudora.idity.q increases towards higher values of pseudora.idity,indica.ing that particles close to the beam a.is are far from ***,V remains nearly independent of *** excita.ion function of these parameters(q)shows a direct(inverse)correla.ion with collision *** ε,n,s,and P show a strong dependence on collision energies at low *** verifica.ion of the thermodyna.ic inequa.ity ε≥3P suggests the forma.ion of a highly dense droplet-like Quark-Gluon Plasma(QGP).Additionally,the inequa.ity T_(i)>T>T_(0)is explicitly confirmed,a.igning with the evolution of the produced fireball.

Laboratory filtra.ion experiments are employed to investigate effective well killing while minimizing its impacts on surrounding *** novelty of this experimental study lies in the prolonged exposure of rock samples to the killing fluid for seven days,corresponding to the average dura.ion of well workovers in the oilfields in Perm Krai,*** findings indicate that critical factors influencing the interactions between rocks and the killing fluid include the chemical composition of the killing fluid,the mineralogical composition of the carbonate rocks,reservoir pressure and temperature,and the contact *** analyses using multi-scale X-ray computed tomography,field emission scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray diffraction were conducted on samples both before and after the well killing *** experiments were performed using real samples of cores,crude oil,and the killing *** results from this study indicate that low-minera.ized water(practically fresh water)is a carbonate rock *** water causes the dissolution of rock components,the forma.ion of new calcite crystals and amoeba-like secretions,and the migra.ion of small particles(clay,quartz,and carbonates).The forma.ion of deep channels was also *** assessment reveals that the change in the pH of the killing fluid indicates that the observed mineral reactions were caused by carbonate *** combined phenomena led to a decrease in the total number of voids in the core samples,which was 25%on average,predominantly among voids measuring between 45 and 70μm in *** change in the pore distribution in the bulk of the samples resulted in decreases in porosity of 1.8%and permea.ility of 67.0%in the studied core *** results from this study indicate the unsuita.ility of low-minera.ized water as a well killing fluid in carbonate *** composition of the killing fluid should be optimized,for example,in terms of the ionic composition of water,
