In this paper, a photonic crystal fiber(PCF) with a dispersion-engineered and high nonlinear coefficient has been designed for supercontinuum generation(SCG) and frequency comb generation(FCG). The proposed PCF has a Si_(3)N_(4) rod in the core. This rod provides more optical confinement in the core by increasing the refractive index of the core. This high confinement reduces the effective mode area of PCF and thus increases the nonlinear coefficient.

Spout-fluid beds are unique systems that require thorough study prior to their industrial *** this study,the hydrodynamics of spout-fluid beds were investigated using 3D computational fluid dy-namics coupled with discrete element method(CFD-DEM).Three flow regimes,including jet-in-fluidized bed,spouting-with-aeration,and intermediate/spout-fluidization were studied,and the particle mixing was quantified in these regimes using the Lacey mixing *** results showed that both axial and lateral mixing rates are better in jet-in-fluidized bed and the spouting-with-aeration flow regimes,with the axial mixing being superior to the lateral in all flow *** the diffusivity coefficient revealed that mixing in the jet-in-fluidized bed flow regime is better due to the formation and eruption of bubbles in the ***,the granular temperature was analyzed in all flow regimes,and higher particle velocity fluctuations were observed in the spouting-with-aeration and the jet-in-fluidized bed flow regimes due to the higher spout gas velocity and formation of bubbles in the *** study provides valuable insights into the hydrodynamics of spout-fluid beds in different flow regimes,which can aid in the design and optimization of spout-fluid bed reactors for various industrial applications.

The Alborz mountains are some of the highest in Iran,and they play an important role in controlling the climate of the country’s northern *** land surface temperature(LST)is an important variable that affects the ecosystem of this *** study investigated the spatiotemporal changes and trends of the nighttime LST in the western region of the Central Alborz mountains at elevations of 1500-4000 m above sea *** data were extracted for the period of 2000-2021,and the Mann-Kendall nonparametric test was applied to evaluating the changes in the *** results indicated a significant increasing trend for the monthly average LST in May-August along the southern *** the northern and southern aspects showed decreasing trends for the monthly average LST in October,November,and March and an increasing trend in other *** all elevations,the average decadal change in the monthly average LST was more severe along the southern aspect(0.60°C)than along the northern aspect(0.37°C).The LST difference between the northern and southern aspects decreased in the cold months but increased in the hot *** the same elevation,the difference in the lapse rate between the northern and southern aspects was greater in the hot months than in the cold *** increasing elevation,the lapse rate between the northern and southern aspects *** change was concluded to greatly decrease the difference in LST at different elevations for April-July.

Nitrogen-rich heterocyclic energetic compounds(NRHECs)and their salts have witnessed widespread synthesis in recent *** substantial energy-density content within these compounds can lead to potentially dangerous explosive reactions when subjected to external stimuli such as electrical ***,developing a reliable model for predicting their electrostatic discharge sensitivity(ESD)becomes *** study proposes a novel and straightforward model based on the presence of specific groups(-NH_(2) or-NH-,-N=N^(+)-O^(-)and-NNO_(2),-ONO_(2) or-NO_(2))under certain conditions to assess the ESD of NRHECs and their salts,employing interpretable structural *** a comprehensive dataset comprising 54 ESD measurements of NRHECs and their salts,divided into 49/5 training/test sets,the model achieves promising *** Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Mean Absolute Error(MAE),and Maximum Error for the training set are reported as 0.16 J,0.12 J,and 0.5 J,***,the ratios RMSE(training)/RMSE(test),MAE(training)/MAE(test),and Max Error(training)/Max Error(test)are all greater than 1.0,indicating the robust predictive capabilities of the *** presented model demonstrates its efficacy in providing a reliable assessment of ESD for the targeted NRHECs and their salts,without the need for intricate computer codes or expert involvement.

Integrating flood and earthquake resilience: a framework for assessing urban community resilience against multiple hazards

Floods and earthquakes are the most common natural disasters, causing significant damage and casualties in urban communities. Although academic research has focused on assessing cities' ability to withstand these natural disasters, there is a lack of established frameworks for evaluating resilience against multiple hazards. This research integrates the earthquake and flood resilience indicators to create a comprehensive resilience assessment framework. This study integrated seismic and flood resilience indicators and categorized them into 27 clusters. It also used the DEMATEL (Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method to determine the significance of clusters and prioritize them. This research identified 13 cause clusters and 14 effect clusters of indicators for seismic and flood resilience. The 'response capacity' cluster has the most impact on seismic and flood resilience, while the 'transportation and accessibility' cluster is the most affected cluster. This article presents a framework for evaluating flood and seismic resilience and makes suggestions for future research.
