The administration time is a critical but long-neglected point in cell therapy based on macrophages because the incorrect time of macrophage administration could result in diverse outcomes regarding the same macrophage *** this work,the second near-infrared(NIR-II)fluorescence imaging in vivo tracking of M2 macrophages during a pro-healing therapy in the mice model of rotator cuff injury revealed that the behavior of administrated macrophages was influenced by the timing of their *** delayed cell therapy(DCT)group had a longer retention time of injected M2 macrophages in the repairing tissue than that in the immediate cell therapy(ICT)*** Keller-segel model and histological analysis further demonstrated that DCT altered the chemotaxis of M2 macrophages and improved the healing outcome of the repaired structure in comparison with *** results offer a possible explanation of previous conflicting results on reparative cell therapy and provoke reconsideration of the timing of these therapies.

MicroRNAs as potential diagnostic biomarkers for bipolar disorder

Abnormal expression of microRNAs is connected to brain development and disease and could provide novel biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of bipolar disorder. We performed a PubMed search for microRNA biomarkers in bipolar disorder and found 18 original research articles on studies performed with human patients and published from January 2011 to June 2023. These studies included microRNA profiling in bloodand brain-based materials. From the studies that had validated the preliminary findings,potential candidate biomarkers for bipolar disorder in adults could be miR-140-3p,-30d-5p,-330-5p,-378a-5p,-21-3p,-330-3p,-345-5p in whole blood, miR-19b-3p,-1180-3p,-125a-5p, let-7e-5p in blood plasma, and miR-7-5p,-23b-5p,-142-3p,-221-5p,-370-3p in the blood serum. Two of the studies had investigated the changes in microRNA expression of patients with bipolar disorder receiving treatment. One showed a significant increase in plasma miR-134 compared to baseline after 4 weeks of treatment which included typical antipsychotics, atypical antipsychotics, and benzodiazepines. The other study had assessed the effects of prescribed medications which included neurotransmitter receptorsite binders(drug class B) and sedatives, hypnotics, anticonvulsants, and analgesics(drug class C) on microRNA results. The combined effects of the two drug classes increased the significance of the results for miR-219 and-29c with miR-30e-3p and-526b* acquiring significance. MicroRNAs were tested to see if they could serve as biomarkers of bipolar disorder at different clinical states of mania, depression, and euthymia. One study showed that upregulation in whole blood of miR-9-5p,-29a-3p,-106a-5p,-106b-5p,-107,-125a-3p,-125b-5p and of miR-107,-125a-3p occurred in manic and euthymic patients compared to controls, respectively, and that upregulation of miR-106a-5p,-107 was found for manic compared to euthymic patients. The significant rise of ultra-violet（Uv） radiation and pathogenic infectious bacteria poses a serious threat to global *** researchers' interests are attracted by novel materials with strong Uvblocking ability,antibacterial activity and low toxicity to other *** this case,a simple wet chemical method with different annealing temperatures（400,500,and 600℃） was employed to create highly effective rare earth（sm）-doped ZnO ***（101） plane of wurtzite ZnO shifts towards a lower angle with increasing annealing temperature,according to the X-ray diffraction（XRD） study findings,which additionally establishes the consequence of lattice *** of doublet peaks of sm 3d(sm 3d5/2and sm 3d3/2) in the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPs） spectrum clearly validates the substitution of sm3+ions in the 500℃-annealed *** 500℃-annealed nanorods exhibit combined performances of the wide band gap,improved Uv absorbance,and vivid green luminescent emission（563 nm）.Additio nally,the nanorods have favorable Uv-blocking execution of 96% for UvA at 360 nm,92% for UvB at 320 nm,and 57% for UvC at 225 nm,which is greater than the majority of ZnO-related materials that have been reported up to this *** doping is also appropriate for improving bacterial inhibition against the two studied strains（escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus）,in addition to the intriguing features discussed ***,with maximum inhibition zone diameters of 20±0.72 and 18±0.57 mm,respectively,these nanorods exhibit high inhibitory action against *** and *** bacterial *** rare earth-doped material developed during the current experiment,which was annealed at 500℃,could potentially serve as an effective replacement for Uv-blocking and antibacterial material,especially for biomedical applications.

Thermoluminescence characterization of natural and synthetic irradiated Ce-monazites

The thermoluminescence(Tl)emission of synthetic and natural Ce-monazites was characterized here to determine the potential application in the identification of microscopic defects from a qualitative point of view trying to link each Tl peak to a chemical-physical *** kinetic parameters that lead the luminescence processes were calculated by means of variable heating rate and computing glow curve deconvolution methods and allow identifying three groups of components at~90,130 and 290℃(for the mineral sample)and~90,170,220,270 and 320℃(for the synthetic CePO_(4):Nd_(0.20),la_(0.25)).The main differences appreciated in these complex Tl curves are mainly due to(i)the content of impurities(natural sample contains lanthanides as well as U 0.60%and Th 5.22%)and(ii)the degree of crystallinity of the samples which is directly related to the type of impurities(synthetic monazite relies only on Nd and la).The behavior of the dose response in the range of 1-8 Gy is similar for both samples;the Tl intensity increases linearly as the dose increases without changes in the position of the maxima,denoting first-order kinetic luminescence *** peak could be mostly associated with structural defects(i.e.,phase transitions),chemical reactions(i.e.,Ce3+?Ce4+redox reaction,dehydration or dehydroxylation processes)or intrinsic defects(i.e.,Frenkel defects,ODCs or NBOHCs).

Intelligent speed adaptation for visibility technology affects drivers’speed selection along curves with sight limitations

sight obstructions along road curves can lead to a crash if the driver is not able to stop the vehicle in *** is a particular issue along curves with limited available sight,where speed management is necessary to avoid unsafe situations(e.g.,driving off the road or invading the other traffic lane).To solve this issue,we proposed a novel intelligent speed adaptation(IsA)system for visibility,called v-IsA(intelligent speed adaptation for visibility).It estimates the real-time safe speed limits based on the prevailing sight conditions.v.IsA comes with three variants with specific feedback modalities(1)visual and(2)auditory information,and(3)direct intervention to assume control over the vehicle ***,we investigated the efficiency of each of the three v-IsA variants on driving speed choice and lateral behavioural response along road curves with limited and unsafe available sight distances,using a driving *** also considered curve road geometry(curve direction:rightward ***).sixty active drivers were recruited for the *** half of them(experimental group)tested the three v-IsA variants(and a v-IsA off condition),the other half always drove with the v-IsA off(validation group).We used a linear mixed-effect model to evaluate the influence of v-IsA on driver *** v-IsA variants were efficient at reducing speeds at entrance points,with no discernible negative impact on driver lateral *** rightward curves,the v-IsA intervening variant appeared to be the most effective at adapting to sight *** of the current study implies that v-IsA might assist drivers to adjust their operating speed as per prevailing sight conditions and,consequently,establishes safer driving conditions.

Metal matrix composites tiles based on Ti-6Al-4v(Ti64)alloy,reinforced with 10,20,and 40(vol%)of either TiC or TiB particles were made using press-and-sinter blended elemental powder metallurgy(BePM)and then bonded together into 3-layer laminated plates using hot isostatic pressing(HIP).The laminates were ballistically tested and demonstrated superior *** microstructure and properties of the laminates were analyzed to determine the effect of the BePM and HIP processing on the ballistic properties of the layered *** effect of porosity in sintered composites on further diffusion bonding of the plates during HIP is analyzed to understand the bonding features at the interfaces between different adjacent layers in the *** ballistic performance of fabricated structures was explained by a significant reduction in the residual porosity of the BePM products by their additional processing using HIP,which provides an unprecedented increase in the hardness of the layered *** is argued that the combination of the used two technologies,BePM and HIP is principally complimentary for the materials in question with the abilities to solve the essential problems of each used individually.

A Mueller matrix covers all the polarization information of the measured sample,however the combination of its 16 elements is sometimes not intuitive enough to describe and identify the key characteristics of polarization *** the Poincarésphere system,this study achieves a spatial representation of the Mueller matrix:the Global-Polarization stokes ellipsoid(GPse).With the help of Monte Carlo simulations combined with anisotropic tissue models,three basic characteristic parameters of GPse are proposed and explained,where the v parameter represents polarization maintenance ability,and the e and D†parameters represent the degree of ***,based on GPse system,a dynamic analysis of skeletal muscle dehydration process demonstrates the monitoring efect of GPse from an application perspective,while confrming its robustness and accuracy.
