Minimum inhibitory but maximum non-hemolytic concentration of plasma-treated catheters coated with *** and *** extracts

Antibacterial extract-coated catheters are promising alternatives to their conventional counterparts,but their hemocompatibility and thermal stability must be *** bacteria have developed resistance to conventional ***,the minimum inhibitory but non-hemolytic concentration(MIC-NH)and the thermal stability of Larrea tridentata(***)and Origanum vulgare(***)extract-coated catheters were ***,plasma pretreatment was performed to enhance the extract ***,the extract-coated catheters prevent Staphylococcus aureus colonization without causing hemolysis by using *** and *** extracts at MIC-NH(5000 and 2500μg ml~(-1),respectively).Moreover,it has been discovered that the extract coating and plasma treatment improved the thermal stability and the extract adhesion,***,this study provides evidence of alternative antibacterial but non-hemolytic extract-coated catheters.

Habanero pepper(Capsicum chinense Jacq.)is a crop of economic relevance in the Peninsula of *** fruits have a high level of capsaicinoids compared to peppers grown in other regions of the world,which gives them industrial *** is an important factor that affects pepper development,nutritional quality,and capsaicinoid ***,the effect of soil type on fruit development and capsaicinoid metabolism has been little *** work aimed to compare the effect of soils with contrasting characteristics,black soil(BS)and red soil(RS),on the expression of genes related to the development of fruits,and capsaicinoid synthesis using a transcriptomic analysis of the habanero pepper *** growing in RS had bigger fruits and higher expression of genes related to floral development,fruit abscission,and softening which suggests that RS stimulates fruit development from early stages until maturation *** from plants growing in BS had enrichment in metabolic pathways related to growth,sugars,and ***,these fruits had higher capsaicinoid accumulation at 25 days post-anthesis,and higher expression of genes related to the branched-chain amino acids metabolism(ketol-acid reductisomerase KARI),pentose phosphate pathway and production of NAdPH(glucose-6-phosphate-1-dehydrogenase G6PdH),and proteasome and vesicular traffic in cells(26S proteasome regulatory subunit T4 RPT4),which suggest that BS is better in the early stimulation of pathways related to the nutritional quality and capsaicinoid metabolism in the fruits.

Red, White and Blue Light emission from europium doped Al2O3 Confined into a Silica Matrix

The main drawbacks of fluorescent activated lanthanide luminescent materials in practical optoelectronic applications are the high cost of raw material and the limitation of a specific color depending on the lanthanide ion. In this work, the synthesis of red, white and blue light emitting composite powders of Al2O3:eu3+@SiO2 were successfully synthesized by the hydrolysis and condensation reactions of TeOS as the raw precursor of silica matrix on the Al2O3:eu3+ surface. With the aim to change the CIe coordinates different weight ratios of Al2O3:eu3+/SiO2 powders from 13Al/87Si to 5Al/95Si were prepared. Besides, various excitation wavelength from 280 to 340 nm was used in order to change the ratio intensity;Ired/Iblue, between the red emission coming from the 5d0→7F2 transition of eu3+ ions and the blue band of silica matrix. Chemical evolution of the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of TeOS were conducted by FTIR spectroscopy. The results indicate that from 500°C a complete TeOS to SiO2 transformation is carried out.

BACKGROUNd The challenges for inflammatory bowel disease(IBd)diagnostics are to discriminate it from gut conditions with similar symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),to distinguish IBd subtypes,to predict disease progression,and to establish the risk to develop colorectal cancer(CRC).Alterations in gut microbiota have been proposed as a source of information to assist in IBd *** prausnitzii(***),its phylogroups,and escherichia coli(***)have been reported as potential biomarkers,but their performance in challenging IBd diagnostic situations remains *** hypothesize that bacterial biomarkers based in these species may help to discriminate these conditions of complex *** To evaluate the usefulness of indices calculated from the quantification of these species as biomarkers to aid in IBd *** A retrospective study of 131 subjects(31 controls(H);45 Crohn’s disease(Cd),25 ulcerative colitis(UC),10 IBS,and 20 CRC patients)was performed to assess the usefulness of bacterial biomarkers in ***,the performance of biomarkers in faeces was studied in 29 stool samples(19 Cd,10 UC).Relative abundances of total ***(FP),its phylogroups(PHGI and PHGII),and ***(e)quantification were determined by *** were combined to calculate the FP-e index,the PHGI–e index and the PHGII-e *** accuracy to discriminate among conditions was measured by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC).ReSULTS In biopsies,FP-e index was good for discriminating IBS from Cd(AUC=0.752)while PHGII-e index was suitable for discriminating IBS from UC(AUC=0.632).The FP-e index would be the choice to discriminate IBd from CRC,especially from all UC subtypes(AUC≥0.875),regardless of the activity status of the *** between UC patients that had the longest disease duration and those with CRC featured slightly lower AUC *** differentiation in IB
