Recently,the fast frequency response(FFR)service by large-scale battery energy storage systems(BESSs)has been successfully proved to arrest the frequency excursion during an unexpected power ***,adequate frequency response relies on proper evaluation of the contingency reserve of *** BESS FFR reserve is commonly managed under fixed contracts,ignoring various response characteristics of different BESSs and their coexisting *** paper proposes a new methodology based on dynamic grid response and various BESS response characteristics to optimise the FFR reserves and prevent the frequency from breaching the under-frequency load shedding(UFLS)*** superiority of the proposed method is demonstrated to manage three large-scale BESSs operating simultaneously in an Australian power grid under high renewable penetration ***,the proposed method can identify remaining battery power and energy reserve to be safely utilised for other grid services(e.g.,energy arbitrage).The results can provide valuable insights for integrating FFR into conventional ancillary services and techno-effective management of multiple BESSs.

In this paper,a Backstepping Global Integral Terminal Sliding Mode Controller(BGITSMC)with the view to enhancing the dynamic stability of a hybrid AC/DC microgrid has been *** proposed approach controls the switch-ing signals of the inverter,interlinking the DC-bus with the AC-bus in an AC/DC microgrid for a seamless interface and regulation of the output power of renewable energy sources(Solar Photovoltaic unit,PMSG-based wind farm),and Battery Energy Storage *** proposed control approach guarantees the dynamic stability of a hybrid AC/DC microgrid by regulating the associated states of the microgrid system to their intended *** dynamic stabil-ity of the microgrid system with the proposed control law has been proved using the Control Lyapunov Function.A simulation analysis was performed on a test hybrid AC/DC microgrid system to demonstrate the performance of the proposed control strategy in terms of maintaining power balance while the system’s operating point ***,the superiority of the proposed approach has been demonstrated by comparing its performance with the existing Sliding Mode Control(SMC)approach for a hybrid AC/DC microgrid.

We report a theoretical scheme using a B-spline basis set to improve the poor computational accuracy of circular Rydberg states of hydrogen atoms in the intermediate magnetic field. This scheme can produce high accuracy energy levels and valid for an arbitrary magnetic field. Energy levels of hydrogen are presented for circular Rydberg states with azimuthal quantum numbers ｜m｜ =10-70 as a function of magnetic field strengths ranging from zero to 2.35 × 10^9 T. The variation of spatial distributions of electron probability densities with magnetic field strengths is discussed and competition between Coulomb and magnetic interactions is illustrated.

Rishi Khola,a sub-watershed of Teesta river,traverses along the Main Central Thrust(MCT)with a multitude of litho units and structural *** study examines the impact of tectonic and lithologic controls in configuring the catchment characteristics of Rishi Khola,Sikkim,*** SRTM 30m DEM and Landsat 8 satellite image have been used for extracting the river network,preparing the sub-catchments,the longitudinal profile and thereby calculating the morphotectonic *** aggregated tectonic index(ATI)has been prepared to map the intensity of tectonic perturbations in the fluvial environment using the entropy weightage method(EWM)and Weighted Linear Combination(WLC).The undulating nature of the longitudinal profile with prominent knick points confirms the presence of tectonic disturbances and lithological *** all the computed morphotectonic indices and the ATI,it has been evident that the region has experienced surface *** viewed at the entire catchment,the morphotectonic indices suggest ample responses to the tectonic perturbations due to the dominance of lithology-controlled hill slope processes and fluvial *** spatiality of the tectonic sensitiveness is rather concentrated into certain pockets of differential stress field formed due to fault thrusting of the *** study chiefly focuses on the peculiarity of the watershed which displays a complex response of tectonic and rock structure;wherein the proposed methodology has been successful in excavating such complex responses around the Himalayan thrusts.

Countries face the risk of natural resource curse because of making their economic growth excessively dependent on natural *** excessive resource dependence causes such a risk,it is inevitable that resource-rich countries will need resource rent up to a certain level of economic *** the other hand,transferring the wealth achieved after this maturity level to productive investment areas also reduces the resource dependency levels of *** this context,countries that capture the possible inverted U-shaped relationship between economic growth and resource dependence can escape the *** on this,the aim of this research is to determine the validity of the Kuznets type relationship between resource dependence and economic growth for the first time in the *** nations that rely heavily on natural resources are used as a sample for *** countries with a share of total resource rent in national revenue greater than 25%are taken into consideration throughout the selection process for these *** novel panel data methodologies,the effects of capital accumulation,public spending,foreign direct investment,and economic growth on the dependence on natural resources is examined from 1993 to *** results reveal that capital accumulation reduces resource dependency while foreign investments and government size increases *** addition,the Resource-Based Kuznets curve concept is supported by empirical data demonstrating an inverted-U-shaped relationship between economic growth and resource dependence for these *** thresholds derived from the parameters show that Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan are well beyond this *** Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo,on the other hand,remain a long way from this ***,Iraq,Mongolia,Iran,and Azerbaijan have national incomes that are close at the threshold.

A comparative study was carried out on the load-dependent indentation behavior with respect to hardness and induced cracks ofβ-SiAlON andα-silicon carbide *** is observed that silicon carbide(SiC)exhibits lower transition load,early cracking and severely crushed indentation sites,whereasβ-SiAlON shows higher transition load and damage-free indentation zone even at the maximum applied load(294.19 N).Crack density is higher forα-SiC with comparison toβ-SiAlON at each *** exhibits both main and secondary radial types of cracking from low indentation load(0.98 N).Cracks are often associated with branching at higher load(>9.80 N)forα-SiC.β-SiAlON exhibits cracks which are mainly radial types initiated at 4.90 N *** opposing behaviors ofβ-SiAlON andα-SiC are attributed to their difference in hardness,toughness,and brittleness *** brittleness ofα-SiC results in early and severe cracking around its indentations.β-SiAlON shows less cracking due to its lower brittleness and higher *** increased size of indentation-induced cracks ofα-SiC is higher than that ofβ-SiAlON due to the rapid crack propagation inα-SiC with transgranular fracture behavior.

Most of the networks are generally less energy efficient and most of the time resources are underutilized. Even resources of busy networks are also underutilized and thus networks show energy inefficient management system. This paper focuses on how to obtain minimum resources for the current situation of the network to maintain connectivity, power saving and quality of service. Four different models are proposed in this perspective with different purposes and functions. These models determine the minimum resources under certain constrains. Two types of services namely, "minimum bandwidth" and "trivial file transfer" are considered. For "minimum bandwidth" service, minimum edge, minimum delay and minimum change models are proposed. Here data rate switch and enable/disable of edges are placed in these models for power saving strategy. Another model, multi flow is proposed for "trivial file transfer" service. It is proposed for transferring files through multiple flows in multiple paths from source to destination. All models except multi flow model are mixed integer programming optimization problem.
