Hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection is an excellent immunological model for understanding the mechanisms developed by non-cytopathic viruses and tumors to evade the adaptative immune *** antigen-specific cytotoxic T cell response is essential for keeping HCV under control,but during persistent infection,these cells become exhausted or even *** exhaustion process is progressive and depends on the infection duration and level of *** high antigenic load and long duration of infection,T cells become extremely exhausted and ultimately disappear due to *** development of exhaustion involves the impairment of positive co-stimulation induced by regulatory cytokines,such as transforming growth factor beta *** cytokine downregulates tumor necrosis factor receptor(TNFR)-associated factor 1(TRAF1),the signal transducer of the T cell co-stimulatory molecule TNFR superfamily member 9(known as 4-1BB).This impairment correlates with the low reactivity of T cells and an exhaustion *** with interleukin-7 in vitro restores TRAF1 expression and rescues T cell effector *** process of TRAF1 loss and its in vitro recovery is hierarchical,and more affected by severe disease *** conclusion,TRAF1 dynamics on T cells define a new pathogenic model that describes some aspects of the natural history of HCV,and sheds light on novel immunotherapy strategies for chronic viral infections and cancer.

Evaluation of 5 versus 10 granulocyteaphaeresis sessions in steroid-dependent ulcerative colitis: A pilot, prospective, multicenter, randomized study

AIM： To evaluate the efficacy of 5 compared to ：tO granulocyteaphaeresis sessions in patients with active steroid-dependent ulcerative colitis. METHODS： In this pilot, prospective, multicenter randomized trial, 20 patients with moderately active steroid-dependent ulcerative colitis were randomized to 5 or 10 granulocyteaphaeresis sessions. The primary objective was clinical remission at wk 17. Secondary measures included endoscopic remission and steroid consumption.RESULTS： Nine patients were randomized to 5 granulocyteaphaeresis sessions （group 1） and 11 patients to 10 granulocyteaphaeresis sessions （group 2）. At wk 17, 37.5% of patients in group 1 and 45.45% of patients in group 2 were in clinical remission. Clinical remission was accompanied by endoscopic remission in all cases. Eighty-six percent of patients achieving remission were steroid-free at wk 17. Daily steroid requirements were significantly lower in group 2. Eighty-nine per cent of patients remained in remission during a one year follow-up. One serious adverse event, not related to the study therapy, was reported. CONCLUSION： Granulocyteaphaeresis is safe and effective for the treatment of steroid-dependent ulcerative colitis. In this population, increasing the number of aphaeresis sessions is not associated with higher remission rates, but affords a significant steroid-sparing effect.

AIM To examine the effects of cognitive remediation therapies on brain functioning through neuroimaging procedures in patients with *** A systematic, computerised literature search was conducted in the PubM ed/Medline and PsychI nfo databases. The search was performed through February 2016 without any restrictions on language or publication date. The search was performed using the following search terms: [("cogniti*" and "remediation" or "training" or "enhancement") and("fMRI" or "MRI" or "PET" or "SPECT") and(schizophrenia or schiz*)]. The search was accompanied by a manual online search and a review of the references from each of the papers selected, and those papers fulfilling our inclusion criteria were also *** A total of 101 studies were found, but only 18 of them fulfilled the inclusion criteria. These studies indicated that cognitive remediation improves brain activation in neuroimaging studies. The most commonly reported changes were those that involved the prefrontal and thalamic regions. Those findings are in agreement with the hypofrontality hypothesis, which proposes that frontal hypoactivation is the underlying mechanism of cognitive impairments in schizophrenia. Nonetheless,great heterogeneity among the studies was found. They presented different hypotheses, different results and different findings. The results of more recent studies interpreted cognitive recovery within broader frameworks, namely, as amelioration of the efficiency of different networks. Furthermore, advances in neuroimaging methodologies, such as the use of wholebrain analysis, tractography, graph analysis, and other sophisticated methodologies of data processing, might be conditioning the interpretation of results and generating new theoretical frameworks. The very high (up to 820% of the magnetoimpedance ratio) and sensitive nonlinear giant magnetoimpedance effect has been studied in the FeCo1Ni magnetic tubes electroplated onto Cu(3%)Be nonmagnetic wirefor frequencies from 1-10MHz. Special annealing was carried out in order to induce the magnetic anisotropy. The high harmonic generation was observed and the harmonics show larger variations with the external magnetic field than the fundamental frequency. The super high sensitivity of the harmonics is promising as regards the increase of the sensitivity of magnetoimpedance sensors.

No study so far has specifically addressed the influence of individual differences in trait-anxiety on aversive classical conditioning as indexed by the startle reflex response. We compared the startle reflex responses between participants classified as high (n = 25) and low (n = 26) in trait-anxiety while undergoing a single-cue aversive classical conditioning procedure. High trait-anxiety group showed a greater startle response to the CS relative to the ITI at the post-acquisition compared with the pre-acquisition phase. Low trait-anxiety group did not show such a clear pattern of conditioning, and results from this group seem to be concealed by differences in the startle responses to the CS and the ITI during the pre-acquisition phase. However, a post-hoc analysis in which such differences at pre-conditioning were removed showed no conditioning effects in low trait-anxiety participants. Taking together, these results suggest differences between high and low trait-anxiety groups in the acquisition of the CS-US association. However, further research should clarify the unexpected pattern of responses shown by low trait-anxiety group.

Objective:To study the effect of species of lactic acid bacteria(LAB)from telluric origin on the growth of the microalgae Isochrysis galbana(***)in small and medium volume ***:In the first experiment,7 LAB species[Carnobacterium piscicola,Lactobacillus brevis,Lactobacillus casei ***,Lactobacillus helveticus,Lactococcus lactis ***,Leuconostoc mesenteroides ***(*** ***)and Pediococcus acidilactici(***)]were inoculated in 250 mL flasks containing microalgae ***(10^(6)cells/mL).After fitting the growth data to two mathematical models,two LAB strains(*** *** and ***)were selected for the second experiment in which those strains were inoculated in medium size(5 L)volume cultures of ***(1.2×10^(5)-1.5×10^(5)cells/mL).The bacterial load in cultures from the first experiment was analyzed by plating on marine agar,MRS agar and thiosulfate citrate bile saltssucrose ***:All strains of LAB tested enhanced the growth rate and the final biomass yield of *** cultures,even in the absence of nutrients in the *** best overall results and the maximal final cell densities in small flasks were achieved with strains *** *** and ***,*** two strains also stimulated the growth(40%and 16%with respect to controls)of *** in medium size *** most strains,CFU values of LAB remained stable(10^(5)-10^(8)CFU/mL)for at least 4 days.A high variability was observed in bacteria strains among treatments,with Pseudomonas and Moraxella being the most abundant ***:The results of present study showed that the growth of *** in both small and medium size volumes was enhanced by LAB,both in the absence and the presence of nutrients in the *** highest final biomass was achieved by adding ***,whereas Carnobacterium piscicola and *** ***

Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in cancer: Reported apparent diffusion coefficients,in-vitro and invivo reproducibility

There is considerable disparity in the published apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC) values across different anatomies. Institutions are increasingly assessing repeatability and reproducibility of the derived ADC to determine its variation,which could potentially be used as an indicator in determining tumour aggressiveness or assessing tumour response. In this manuscript,a review of selected articles published to date in healthy extracranial body diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging is presented,detailing reported ADC values and discussing their variation across different studies. In total 115 studies were selected including 28 for liver parenchyma,15 for kidney(renal parenchyma),14 for spleen,13 for pancreatic body,6 for gallbladder,13 for prostate,13 for uterus(endometrium,myometrium,cervix) and 13 for fibroglandular breast tissue. Median ADC values in selected studies were found to be 1.28 × 10-3 mm2/s in liver,1.94 × 10-3 mm2/s in kidney,1.60 × 10-3 mm2/s in pancreatic body,0.85 × 10-3 mm2/s in spleen,2.73 × 10-3 mm2/s in gallbladder,1.64 × 10-3 mm2/s and 1.31 × 10-3 mm2/s in prostate peripheral zone and central gland respectively(combined median value of 1.54×10-3 mm2/s),1.44 × 10-3 mm2/s in endometrium,1.53 × 10-3 mm2/s in myometrium,1.71 × 10-3 mm2/s in cervix and 1.92 × 10-3 mm2/s in breast. In addition,six phantom studies and thirteen in vivo studies were summarized to compare repeatability and reproducibility of the measured ADC. All selected phantom studies demonstrated lower intra-scanner and inter-scanner variation compared to in vivo studies. Based on the findings of this manuscript,it is recommended that protocols need to be optimised for the body part studied and that system-induced variability must be established using a standardized phantom in any clinical study. Reproducibility of the measured ADC must also be assessed in a volunteer population,as variations are far more significant in vivo compared with phantom studies.

实现矿区可持续发展是我国乃至全球共同面临的难题,而发展矿业旅游是推动矿区转型的重要方法,是破解该难题的重要途径。其中,矿业遗迹保护与合理利用是发展矿业旅游的根本。为此,辨析了矿业遗迹旅游资源概念,提出了矿业遗迹旅游资源分类体系,利用层次分析法构建了矿业遗迹旅游资源评价指标体系,以旅游资源评价为基础提出了恢复型、初级型和深度型3种主要开发模式,并对湖北省主要的矿业遗迹旅游资源评价进行了实证研究。研究表明,湖北省矿业遗迹数量随着评价分值的增高而逐渐减少,呈现"金字塔"形状,开发模式随着分值的增加而更多元化,呈现"倒金字塔"形状。
