BACKGROUND A right-sided round ligament(RSRL)is a rare,congenital anomaly of the intrahepatic portal vein,with a reported frequency of 0.2%-1.2%.For patients with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma associated with an RSRL,an accurate understanding of the vascular and biliary anatomy is *** SUMMARY We report a 70-year-old male with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma associated with an *** percutaneous transhepatic embolization of the left and anterior portal branches,we conducted a left trisectionectomy of the liver with extrahepatic bile duct resection and *** postoperative course was uneventful,and R0 resection was *** the liver volume of each section was compared between 7 patients with an RSRL and 20 patients with normal portal vein anatomy,the posterior section in RSRL patients was significantly larger than that in patients with normal portal vein anatomy(median:457 mL vs 306 mL,P=0.031).In patients with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma associated with an RSRL,left trisectionectomy has several surgical advantages:(1)The posterior branch of the portal vein often ramifies independently,and the division of the portal vein is easily conducted;(2)A relatively large amount of remnant liver can be retained;and(3)The anatomy of the posterior branch of the Glissonian pedicle is similar to that in patients with normal *** In patients with an RSRL and perihilar cholangiocarcinoma that does not involve the posterior section,left trisectionectomy may be a favorable choice.

As one of supersonic mixing techniques, a supersonic mixing technique using a cavity and a porous wall has been proposed. The cavity and the porous wall generate the low speed region in the cavity, which enhances mixing the main flow with the jets. In this study, numerical simulations were conducted to clarify the effects of backward inclined jets on the mixing technique using a porous wall and a cavity. In the numerical simulations, three patterns of jet injections which combined normal jets with backward inclined jets were studied. As a result, the combination of a backward inclined jet and a normal jet generates the suction flow behind the backward inclined jet, which is useful for making the injected jets flow into the cavity. In addition, the introduction of backward inclined jets reduces the total pressure loss. On the other hand, the mass flow rate through the porous holes decreases with increase in the number of the backward inclined jets.

The fluxes of heavy metals and magnetite, a fly-ash component, from coal burning, to sediments of the Kunming Lake in Beijing have increased measurably over the last fifty years. Ages were introduced to the sediment strata through Pb-210 geochronologies. Even with a doubling of coal usage by the year 2000, the anthropogenic metal fluxes will still be less than those recorded in metropolitan Tokyo and U.S. lakes.

The Chinese ancient bronze black mirror'Hei-Qi-Gu'is famous for its black colour,bright surface and anti-corroding *** the present work,methods of SEM,IR,EPMA,Memhrane-XRD, and AFM were employed to detect the composition and structure of several pieces of Hei-Qi-Gu *** was found that after casting,the surface of the bronze mirror was treated by a special process,and most of Cu was moved away while Sn and Si were rich in the surface *** oxides SnO_2 and SiO_2 on the surface in a very small particle size are particularly stable and they protect the bronze alloy successfully. The development of superconducting joining technology for reacted magnesium diboride(MgB_(2))conductors remains a critical challenge for the advancement of cryogen-free MgB_(2)-based magnets for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Herein,the fabrication of superconducting joints using reacted carbon-doped multifilament MgB_(2)wires for MRI magnets is *** achieve successful superconducting joints,the powder-in-mold method was employed,which involved tuning the filament protection mechanism,the powder compaction pressure,and the heat treatment *** fabricated joints demonstrated clear superconducting-to-normal transitions in self-field,with effective magnetic field screening up to 0.5 T at 20 *** evaluate the interface between one of the MgB_(2)filaments and the MgB_(2)bulk within the joint,serial sectioning was conducted for the first time in this type of superconducting *** serial sectioning revealed space formation at the interface,potentially caused by the volume shrinkage associated with the MgB_(2)formation or the combined effect of the volume shrinkage and the different thermal expansion coefficients of the MgB_(2)bulk,the filament,the mold,and the sealing *** findings are expected to be pivotal in developing MgB_(2)superconducting joining technology for MRI magnet applications through interface engineering.

Carbon footprint assessment for the waste management sector： A comparative analysis of China and Japan

Waste management is becoming a crucial issue in modem society owing to rapid urbanization and the increasing generation of municipal solid waste （MSW）. This paper evaluates the carbon footprint of the waste management sector to identify direct and indirect carbon emissions, waste recycling carbon emission using a hybrid life cycle assessment and input-output analysis. China and Japan was selected as case study areas to highlight the effects of different industries on waste management. The results show that the life cycle carbon footprints for waste treatment are 59.01 million tons in China and 7.01 million tons in Japan. The gap between these footprints is caused by the different waste management systems and treatment processes used in the two countries. For indirect carbon footprints, China＇s material carbon footprint and deprecia- tion carbon footprint are much higher than those of Japan, whereas the purchased electricity and heat carbon footprint in China is half that of Japan. China and Japan have similar direct energy consumption carbon footprints. However, CO2 emissions from MSW treatment processes in China （46.46 million tons） is significantly higher than that in Japan （2.72 million tons）. The corresponding effects of waste recycling on CO2 emission reductions are consider- able, up to 181.37 million tons for China and 96.76 million tons for Japan. Besides, measures were further proposed for optimizing waste management systems in the two countries. In addition, it is argued that the advanced experience that developed countries have in waste management issues can provide scientific support for waste treatment in developing countries such as China.

The patient was a 71-year-old man who underwent a right hemicolectomy for ascending colon cancer(pT3,pN1,pM0) and who opted not to receive adjuvant *** months later,multiple liver metastases *** therefore received FOLFOX4(5-fluorouracil/leucovorin and 85 mg/m 2 oxaliplatin) therapy,up to a total of 5 courses,and showed a partial *** receiving the sixth course of FOLFOX4,he complained of chest pain and systemic itching approximately 15 min after the start of *** electrocardiogram revealed typical signs of *** arteriography showed that the coronary arteries were *** the chest pain to be merely coincidental,we continued with the same ***,he again developed the same chest pain during the seventh cycle of FOLFOX4 and treatment was *** concluded that the patient's symptoms were due to acute coronary syndrome(ACS) associated with the FOLFOX4 *** angina as a type of ACS is a rare adverse effect of FOLFOX4. Clinicians should be aware of this potential adverse effect when monitoring patients receiving FOLFOX4.
