Grain yield is a polygenic trait that can be influenced by environmental factors and genetic compositions at all plant growth ***,the molecular mechanisms behind the coordination of the interaction between grain yield-related traits remain *** this study,we characterized the function of four STRESS_tolerance and GRAIN_LENGTH(Os SGL)Poaceae ortholog genes that are transcribed into DUF1645 domain-containing proteins in relation to the grain length,grain weight,and drought stress-tolerance of *** transgenic plants with overexpressing or heterologous high levels of Poaceae OsSGL ortholog genes exhibited longer grain size than the wild type *** cells were seen in panicles of the four transgenic lines with paraffin sectioning and scanning electron microscopy *** addition,four Poaceae OsSGL ortholog genes positively affected the drought tolerance of *** transgenic plants displayed higher resistance to drought stress at the seedling and vegetative ***-sequencing and qRT-PCR results indicated that over-or heterologous-expression of four Poaceae OsSGL ortholog genes also affected the transcriptome of rice *** genes may play a role in auxin and cytokinin biosynthesis and their transduction *** together,these results suggested that the four OsSGL orthologs have a conserved function in the regulation of stress-tolerance and cell growth by modulating hormonal biosynthesis and signaling.

Nucleation and epitaxy growth of high-entropy REBa_(2)Cu_(3)O_(7-δ)(RE=Y,Dy,Gd,Sm,Eu)thin films by metal organic deposition

High-entropy REBa_(2)Cu_(3)O_(7-δ)(RE=Y_(0.7)+Dy_(0.2)+Gd_(0.2)+Sm_(0.2)+Eu_(0.2))(HE-REBCO) superconducting films doped with multiple rare earth elements were successfully fabricated with thickness up to 800 nm by a trifluoroacetate-metal organic deposition(TFA-MOD).The enhanced entropy change ΔS of the HEREBCO system promotes the c-axis growth of REBCO thin film in the competition with a/b-axis *** microstructure and element distribution were investigated by the transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS).The results show that HE-REBCO films have a great amount of stacking defects,lattice distortions and various rare earth ***,the microstrain of HE-REBCO films increases significantly compared to the undoped YBCO and(Y,Dy)BCO ***,the superco nducting critical temperature(T_c^(onset)) of HE-REBCO films is about 93 K,and the in-field properties are significantly improved,especially at the temperature of about 77 *** maximum pinning force density(F_(p,max)) of the HE-REBCO samples at 77 K is 1.7 times higher than that of the undoped YBCO films.

Gastric cardia adenocarcinoma(GCA) and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) present significant health challenges in China, often diagnosed at advanced stages with poor prognoses. However, effective biomarkers for early detection remain elusive. This study aimed to integrate methylome and transcriptome data to identify DNA methylation markers for the early detection of GCA and ESCC. In the discovery stage, we conducted Infinium Methylation EPIC array analysis on 36 paired GCA and non-tumor adjacent tissues(NAT), identifying differentially methylated Cp G sites(DMCs) between GCA/ESCC and NAT through combined analyses of in-house and publicly available data. In the validation stage, targeted pyrosequencing and quantitative real-time RT-PCR were performed on paired tumor and NAT samples from 50GCA and 50 ESCC patients. In the application stage, an independent set of 438 samples, including GCA, ESCC, high-and low-grade dysplasia(HGD/LGD), and normal controls, was tested for selected DMCs using pyrosequencing. Our analysis validated three GCA-specific, two ESCCspecific, and one tumor-shared DMCs, exhibiting significant hypermethylation and decreased expression of target genes in tumor samples compared with NAT. Leveraging these DMCs, we developed a GCA-specific 4-marker panel(cg27284428, cg11798358, cg07880787, and cg00585116) with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC) of 0.917, effectively distinguishing between cardia HGD/GCA patients and cardia LGD/normal controls. Similarly, an ESCC-specific 3-marker panel(cg14633892, cg04415798, and cg00585116)achieved an AUC of 0.865 in distinguishing esophageal HGD/ESCC cases. Furthermore, integrating cg00585116, age, and alcohol consumption yielded a tumor-shared logistic model with good discrimination for two cancer/HGD(AUC, 0.767; 95% confidence interval, 0.720–0.813). Signatures within esophageal microbiota with progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) is one of the dominant malignances worldwide, but currently there is less focus on the microbiota with ESCC and its precancerous ***: Paired esophageal biopsy and swab specimens were obtained from 236 participants in linzhou, *** from 16 S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing were processed using quantitative insights into microbial ecology(QIIME2) and R Studio to evaluate differences. The Wilcoxon rank sum test and Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test were used to compare diversity and characteristic genera by specimens and participant groups. Ordinal logistic regression model was used to build microbiol prediction ***: Microbial diversity was similar between biopsy and swab specimens, including operational taxonomic unit(OTU) numbers and Shannon index. There were variations and similarities of esophageal microbiota among different pathological characteristics of ESCC. Top 10 relative abundance genera in all groups include Streptococcus, Prevotella, Veillonella, Actinobacillus, Haemophilus, Neisseria, Alloprevotella, Rothia, Gemella and Porphyromonas. Genus Streptococcus, Haemophilus, Neisseria and Porphyromonas showed significantly difference in disease groups when compared to normal control, whereas Streptococcus showed an increasing tendency with the progression of ESCC and others showed a decreasing tendency. About models based on all combinations of characteristic genera, only taken Streptococcus and Neisseria into model, the prediction performance was the ideal one, of which the area under the curve(AUC) was ***: Esophageal biopsy and swab specimens could yield similar microbial characterization. The combination of Streptococcus and Neisseria has the potential to predict the progression of ESCC, which is needed to confirm by large-scale, prospective cohort studies.

Colorectal cancer burden and trends:Comparison between China and major burden countries in the world

Analysis of Anomalous Characteristics of Regional Crustal Deformation before the September 16^th,2019 Zhangye MS5.0 Earthquake,Gansu,China

To study the crustal movement in the vicinity of the epicenter before the Zhangye MS5.0 earthquake in 2019, the characteristics of crustal deformation before the earthquake are discussed through the GPS velocity field analysis based on the CMONOC data observed from GPS. The baseline time series between two continuous GPS stations and the strain time series of an area among several stations are analyzed in the epicenter area. The resulting time series of baseline azimuth around the epicenter reflects that the energy of the fault in the northern margin of Qilian Mountain is accumulated continuously before 2017. Besides,the movement trend of azimuth slows down after 2017,indicating the stress accumulation on both sides of the seismogenic fault zone has reached a certain degree. The first shear strain and EWdirection linear strain in the epicentral area of the Zhangye MS5.0 earthquake remain steady after 2017,and the surface strain rate decreases gradually after 2016. It is illustrated that there is an obvious deformation loss at the epicentral region three years before the earthquake,indicating that a certain degree of strain energy is accumulated in this area before the earthquake.

Associations between cancer family history and esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions in high-risk areas of China
