Dissecting the cell microenvironment of ovarian endometrioma through single-cell RNA sequencing

Ovarian endometrioma（OE）, also known as “chocolate cysts,” is a cystic mass that develops in the ovaries due to endometriosis and is a common gynecological condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, leading to symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, and infertility. However, the precise molecular and cellular mechanisms driving this pathophysiology remain largely unknown, posing challenges for diagnosis and treatment. Here, we employed integrated single-cell transcriptomic profiling of over 52,000 individual cells from endometrial tissues of OE patients and healthy donors and identified twelve major cell populations. We identified notable alterations in cell type-specific proportions and molecular signatures associated with OE. Notably, the activation of IGFBP5+macrophages with pro-inflammatory properties, NK cell exhaustion, and aberrant proliferation of IQcG+and KLF2+epithelium are key features and may be the potential mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of OE. collectively, our data contribute to a better understanding of OE at the single cell level and may pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Liquid droplet movement on horizontal surface with gradient surface energy

A surface with gradient surface energy was fabricated on a silicon wafer by using the chemical vapor deposition (cVD) technology with the dodecyltrichlorosilane (c12H25cl3Si) vapor which was adsorbed chemically on the surface of the silicon wafer to form a self-assemble monolayer (ASM); thus a gradient profile of wettability. The microscopic contours of the gradient surface were measured with Seiko SPA400 atom force microscope (AFM). And the surface wettability profile was characterized by the sessile drop method, measuring the contact angle of fine water droplets that lay on the gradient surface, to represent the distribution of the surface energy on the surface. Using a high-speed video imaging system, the motion of water droplet on the horizontal gradient surface was visualized; the transient velocity was measured under ambient condition. The experimental results show that the liquid droplets can be driven to move from hydrophobic side to hydrophilic side on the horizontal gradient surface; the velocity of droplet can reach up to 40 mm/s. In addition, the motion of the water droplet can be generally divided into two stages: an acceleration stage; a deceleration stage. The droplet presents a squirming movement on the surface with a lower peak velocity; a larger extent of deceleration motion. And the static advancing contact angle of the droplet is obviously larger than the dynamic advancing contact angle on the gradient energy surface.

Due to quick response and large quantity of electric motor torque,the traction wheels of battery electric vehicle are easy to slip during the initial phase of *** this paper,a sliding mode control approach of acceleration slip regulation is designed to prevent the slip of the traction *** wheel slip ratio is used as the state variable for the formulation of system dynamics *** fuzzy algorithm is utilized to adjust the switch function of sliding mode *** stability and robustness analysis,the sliding mode control law is transferred into c code and downloaded into vehicle control unit,which is validated under wet and dry road *** experimental results with a small overshoot and a quick response during starting indicate that the sliding mode controller has good control efect on the slip ratio *** article proposes an acceleration slip regulation method that improves the safety during acceleration for battery electric vehicle.

Background:The goal of this study was to reproduce a three-dimensional representation of corneal defocus characteristics after orthokeratology(Ortho-K)treatment via an indicator defined as the weighted Zernike defocus coeffic.ent of the treatment zone(cweighted defocus).This could be used to predict the effectiveness of Ortho-K treatment quantitatively in a timely manner after the one-month ***:Seventy myopic children with axial length(AL)elongation after Ortho-K treatment(group A)and 63 myopic children with AL shortening after Ortho-K treatment(group B)were included in this one-year retrospective *** proposed indicator was calculated by a customized MATLAB *** binomial logistic regression and multivariate linear regression analyses were used to explore the association between AL change and the c_(weighted defocus),age,sex,and other ocular biometric ***:The 12-month AL change,age,pupil diameter,and vertical decentration of the Ortho-K lens were significantly different between the two *** logistic regression analysis showed that a larger cweighted defocus(≥0.35 D/mm2)(OR:0.224;95%cI:0.078–0.646;P=0.006)was correlated with the emergence of AL shortening after orthokeratology treatment.A multivariate linear regression model showed that a greater cweighted defocus was associated with slower 12-month AL elongation(β=−0.51,P=0.001).conclusions:The cweighted defocus is an effective predictive indicator of myopia control,and a larger cweighted defocus may lead to slower elongation of *** meaningful indicator may help in the evaluation and adjustment of Ortho-K lens parameters in a timely manner and minimize the cost of clinical trial and error.

Protecting clusters from coalescing by ligands has been universally adopted in the chemical synthesis of atomically precise *** from the stabilization role,the effect of ligands on the electronic properties of cluster cores in constructing superatoms,however,has not been well *** this letter,a comprehensive theoretical study about the effect of an organic ligand,methylated N-heterocyclic carbene(c_(5)N_(2)H_(8)),on the geometrical and electronic properties of the aluminum-based clusters XAl_(12)(X=Al,c and P)featuring different valence electron shells was conducted by utilizing the density functional theory(DFT)*** was observed that the ligand can dramatically alter the electronic properties of these aluminum-based clusters while maintaining their structural *** intriguingly,different from classical superatom design strategies,the proposed ligation strategy was evidenced to possess the capability of remarkably reducing the ionization potentials(IP)of these clusters forming the ligated superalkalis,which is regardless of their shell *** charge transfer complex formed during the ligation process,which regulates the electronic spectrum through the electrostatic coulomb potential,was suggested to be responsible for such an IP *** ligation strategy highlighted here may provide promising opportunities in realizing the superatom synthesis in the liquid phase.
