Occurrence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the estuarine sediments of the Taihu Lake and their associated toxic effects on aquatic organisms

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are ubiquitous toxic organic pollutants in the natural environment that are strongly associated with socioeconomic activities.Exploring the distribution,sources,and ecological toxicity of PAHs is essential to abate their pollution and biological risks.The 16 priority PAHs in different lakeside city estuarine sediments in the northern Taihu Lake in China were determined using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.Results showed that total concentrations of PAHs(ΣPAHs)ranged from 672.07 to 5858.34 ng g^(^(-1)),with a mean value of 2121.37 ng g^(^(-1)).High-molecular-weight PAHs(4-6 rings)were dominant,accounting for 85%of theΣPAHs detected.Due to the barrier of gate/dam in the estuarine area,the concentrations of PAHs in the sediments were significantly different between the river mouth and lake side.Changes in total organic carbon(TOC)content and the spatial distribution of PAHs in the sediments were consistent.Sediment pollution assessment explored using the fuzzy evaluation model indicated 75%of slight PAH pollution.Some estuarine sediments(22%)concentrated in the east of the Wuli Lake in the Meiliang bay of the Taihu Lake were moderately or heavily polluted.The PAHs may lead to occasional detrimental biological consequences in the area.Diagnostic ratios and principal component analysis-multiple linear regression suggested vehicle emission and natural gas combustion as the primary PAH contributors(81%).

Structural deformation monitoring of flight vehicles based on optical fiber sensing(OFS)technology has been a focus of research in the field of aerospace.After nearly 30 years of research and development,Chinese and international researchers have made significant advances in the areas of theory and methods,technology and systems,and ground experiments and flight tests.These advances have led to the development of OFS technology from the laboratory research stage to the engineering application stage.However,a few problems encountered in practical applications limit the wider application and further development of this technology,and thus urgently require solutions.This paper reviews the history of research on the deformation monitoring of flight vehicles.It examines various aspects of OFS-based deformation monitoring including the main varieties of OFS technology,technical advantages and disadvantages,suitability in aerospace applications,deformation reconstruction algorithms,and typical applications.This paper points out the key unresolved problems and the main evolution paradigms of engineering applications.It further discusses future development directions from the perspectives of an evolution paradigm,standardization,new materials,intelligentization,and collaboration.

Green organic semiconductors （GOS） have the four-element features, including biomass as stuffs, synthesis with the pot, atom and step economic （PASE） route, eco-friendly fabrication processes in aqueous phase, and recy- clable devices, capturing the trend of organic electronics in the future. Herein, we reviewed the efforts that have been made on GOS by our group. We first made a brief introduction of organic （opto）electronics, followed by the design strategies of GOSs based on spirofluorenes. Concretely, we described the discovery of one-pot protocol to spirofluorenres and a pot-atom-step economic （PASE） platform of spiro[fluorene-9,9＇-xanthene] （SFX） for the mo- lecular design of organic semiconductors, as well as a state-of-the-art nanocrystalline films with eco-friendly pro- cedures. Then, we highlighted the progress on SFX-based organic semiconductors in the organic light-emitting di- ode （OLED） field. Finally, we conducted a summary on SFXs in OLED and an outlook on green semiconductors starting from biomass, via one-pot to spirofluorenes, to water-phase devices.

Coccolith assemblages and their response to climate and surface hydrography in the Yellow Sea, Northwest Pacific, AD 1780–2011

A study of coccolith assemblages from a box core from the central South Yellow Sea（SYS） was performed revealing fluctuations on their relative abundance（%） that can be related to climatic and hydrographic changes over the last 230 years（1780–2011）. Total coccolith abundances ranged from 7.0 to 55.1×10^6 coccoliths·g^-1sediment. Although the abundance of different species varied widely throughout the core, seven taxa dominated the assemblage. Among these species, Gephyrocapsa oceanica was the most dominant species, and it showed an average percentage of 50.1%. The pattern of G. oceanica（eutrophic species） was opposite to that of the combined percentage of Braarudosphaera bigelowii and Umbilicosphaera sibogae（both oligotrophic species）, indicating that in the Yellow Sea（YS）, the distribution pattern of G. oceanica might be characteristic of nutrient availability.Similar patterns between G. oceanica and the Siberian High were observed on an inter-decadal time scale,indicating that the East Asian Winter Monsoon（EAWM） may be an important driver of ecological changes in the YS. When the EAWM prevails, both the Yellow Sea Coastal Current（YSCC） and Yellow Sea Warm Current（YSWC）strengthen, and the increasing nutrient availability and warmer water brought by the strengthened YSWC favor eutrophic and warm-water coccolithophore species, such as G. oceanica. This likely mechanism demonstrates that coccolith assemblages can be used as benign and reliable proxy for climate change and surface oceanography.

Molecular phylogeny of tribe Atraphaxideae(Polygonaceae)evidenced from five cpDNA genes

Traditionally, Atraphaxis, Calligonum, Pteropyrum and Parapteropyrum are included in the tribe Atraphxideae. Recently, sequence data has revealed that this tribe is not monophyletic. The structure of the tribe was examined by adding more taxa and sequences to clarify the congruence between morphology and molecular phylogeny, the systematic placements of four genera in Polygonaceae, as well as the infra-generic relationships of Atraphaxis and Calligonum within Atraphaxideae. Five chloroplast genes, atpB-rbcL, psbA-trnH, trnL-tmF, psbK-psbl, and rbcL of Atraphaxis, Calligonum, Pteropyrum, and Parapteropyrum were sequenced. The non-monophyly of Atraphaxideae was confirmed. Atraphaxis and Calligonum, respectively, formed a monophyletic group that was well supported. Calligonum is closely related to Pteropyrum; Atraphaxis is sister to Polygonum s. str. and Parapteropyrum is allied with Fagopyrum. Although the morphology suggested the four genera should form a tribe, the molecular data indicated Atraphaxideae was not one monophyletic group. The clades identified within Atraphaxis corresponded well with the current sectional classification based on morphological features. As for Cal- ligonum, Medusa was identified as a non-monophyletic section.

补充医疗保险会促进老年家庭旅游消费吗?——来自CHARLS数据的经验分析

文章就医疗保险,尤其是补充医疗保险对老年家庭旅游消费的影响进行经验分析,以此探讨医疗保障对发展型消费是否具有促进作用。利用倾向值匹配估计、随机效应模型解决样本选择性偏差及遗漏变量带来的内生性问题,研究发现:补充医疗保险对老年家庭旅游消费具有显著的促进作用,而基本医疗保险及商业医疗保险的作用并不显著,这种促进作用不仅表现为未参保者转变为参保者所带来的正向旅游消费促进,还体现在参保者转变为未参保者所带来的旅游消费降级。从降低未来不确定性风险视角所做的机制分析发现:老年人自评健康、主观预期寿命及子女的经济支持均在补充医疗保险对老年家庭旅游消费的影响关系中发挥着正向调节作用,具体为参保组与未参保组的老年家庭旅游消费只在自评健康好及主观预期寿命乐观的情况下表现出差异,在自评健康差及主观预期寿命悲观的情境下则不显著,而参保组与未参保组的老年家庭旅游消费水平在子女经济支持高与低两种情境中则表现出反向加强的特征。

Selective Introduction of Carbazole and Diphenylamine into Spirofluorenexanthene Core for Different Phosphorescent Hosts

Built on the spiro[fluorene-9,9′-xanthene] (SFX) core and two frequently-used hole-transporting groups such as carbazole and diphenylamine, two SFX derivatives, namely SFXCz and SFXDPA, have been synthesized by one-step reaction for red, green and blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices (PHOLEDs). Though the properties of these two groups are very similar, the devices based on SFXCz and SFXDPA exhibit distinct performances. In blue PHOLEDs, the device based on SFXCz exhibited much better performances than that based on SFXDPA. However, the latter was superior to the former in green and red PHOLEDs. And the red PHOLED based on SFXDPA exhibited maximum current efficiency (CE) of 27.1 cd·A−1, power efficiency (PE) of 25.0 lm·W−1, and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 15.0%. The results show that the introduction of diphenylamine group is suitable for constructing green and red host materials, whereas the introduction of carbazole group is suitable for constructing blue host materials. Resolving the sintering conundrum of high-rhenium tungsten alloys

Tungsten-rhenium(W-Re)alloys with high-Re contents are the preferred refractory metal materials in many applications because of the improved ductility and processability over pure W and low-Re tung-sten alloys.However,the sintering concurrently becomes increasingly more difficult with increasing Re contents.Here we proposed that the sintering conundrum is caused by the lowered crystal symmetry and the wider dihedral angle distribution when body-center-cubic(BCC)W is alloyed with more hexagonal-close-packed(HCP)Re,which results in inefficient pore removal in the final stage sintering.We showed that the conundrum can be resolved by pressureless two-step sintering(TSS)which suppresses acceler-ating final-stage grain growth,and our proposal is supported by the data of the critical densityρc that is required to start the second step for successful TSS at different W-Re compositions.Dense ultrafine-grained W-Re alloys with∼300 nm average grain size and up to 25 wt%Re were successfully produced.Our work demonstrates the unique opportunities offered by two-step sintering to advance the scientific understanding and technological practices in powder metallurgy and related fields.

Xuebijing alters tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1beta and p38 mitogen activated protein kinase content in a rat model of cardiac arrest following cardiopulmonary resuscitation

We established a rat model of cardiac arrest by clamping the endotracheal tube of adult rats at expiration. Twenty-four hours after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, nerve cell injury and expression of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and p38 mitogen activated protein kinase content were increased. Rats injected with Xuebijing, a Chinese herb compound preparation, exhibited normal cellular structure and morphology, dense neuronal cytoplasm, and decreased tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and p38 mitogen activated protein kinase expression at 24 hours following cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These data suggest that Xuebijing can attenuate neuronal injury induced by hypoxia and reperfusion during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
