Understanding the response of the Earth system to varying concentrations of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))is critical for projecting possible future climate change and for providing insight into mitigation and adaptation strategies in the near *** this study,we generate a dataset by conducting an experiment involving carbon dioxide removal(CDR)—a potential way to suppress global warming—using the Chinese Academy of Sciences Earth System Model version 2.0(CASESM2.0).A preliminary evaluation is *** model is integrated from 200–340 years as a 1%yr^(−1) CO_(2) concentration increase experiment,and then to~478 years as a carbon dioxide removal experiment until CO_(2) returns to its original ***,another 80 years is integrated in which CO_(2) is kept *** in the 2-m temperature,precipitation,sea surface temperature,ocean temperature,Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC),and sea surface height are all *** the ramp-up period,the global mean 2-m temperature and precipitation both increase while the AMOC *** of all the above variables change in the opposite direction in the ramp-down period,with a delayed peak relative to the CO_(2) *** CO_(2) returns to its original value,the global mean 2-m temperature is still~1 K higher than in the original state,and precipitation is~0.07 mm d^(–1) *** the end of the simulation,there is a~0.5°C increase in ocean temperature and a 1 Sv weakening of the *** model simulation produces similar results to those of comparable experiments previously reported in the literature.

This work develops a data-driven adaptive iterative learning control(DDAILC) for output tracking problem of linear time-varying singular systems. By differencing system outputs between different iterations, the iterative dynamic relationship(IDR) between input and output data is established. Based on IDR, two index functions about the unknown system parameter and control input are designed, through which the parameter updating law and learning control law are proposed based on optimization design. The learning gain is updated by the parameter estimation automatically. The proposed DDAILC is data based and does not depend on the explicit system model. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation studies.

The Brillouin scattering is one of the strongest nonlinear optical effects in dielectrics[1].In particular,the backward Brillouin scattering(BBS)provides an efficient method to achieve low-noise optical gain for active photonics[2]and the coherent interconnects between 10 GHz phonons and photons[3].However,previous studies on BBS are primarily limited to the unconfined phonons[1]or phonon confined in suspended structures[4-6].

STOCHASTIC COMPARISONS IN A PRICE-QUANTITY SETTING FIRM WITH UNCERTAIN DEMAND AND EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT

We consider a newsvendor problem with price-dependent demand, in either additive or multiplicative format. The newsvendor has two modes of purchasing： regular ordering at the beginning of the selling season and emergency ordering （if the realized demand exceeds the initial order quantity） at the end of the selling season. By stochastic comparisons, we systematically investigate the effects of demand magnitude and demand randomness on pricing and ordering quantity decisions as well as expected profit of the newsvendor, under both usual stochastic order （first order stochastic dominance） and convex order （less variable）. Our key findings include：（i） in contrary to the case where price is exogenous, a stochastically larger demand shock may even lead to a lower order quantity; （ii） a stochastically larger demand shock leads to a higher price for the additive demand case, but may lead to a lower price for the multiplicative demand case; （iii） a stochastically larger demand shock leads to a higher expected profit for both demand models; （iv） in general, a less variable demand leads to a higher expected profit for both demand models; and furthermore, a less variable demand shock has no effect on price for the additive demand model, but leads to a higher price for the multiplicative demand model. The implications of all these findings for pricing and order quantity are discussed in detail.

In this paper,we consider the stochastic differential equations with piecewise continuous arguments(SDEPCAs)in which the drift coefficient satisfies the generalized one-sided Lipschitz condition and the diffusion coefficient satisfies the linear growth *** the delay term t-[t]of SDEPCAs is not continuous and differentiable,the variable substitution method is not *** overcome this dificulty,we adopt new techniques to prove the boundedness of the exact solution and the numerical *** is proved that the truncated Euler-Maruyama method is strongly convergent to SDEPCAs in the sense of L'(q≥2).We obtain the convergence order with some additional *** example is presented to illustrate the analytical theory.

In the Research Article “Tumor Microenvironment-Specific Chemical Internalization for Enhanced Gene Therapy of Metastatic Breast Cancer,” the authors made an error in Fig. 6A. In Fig. 6A, the image of “pre” in the “Free Cy5-siRNA” group was misused. When incorporating the final images in Fig. 6A, another image of “24 h” in the “Free Cy5-siRNA” group was inadvertently chosen as the “Pre” image, so they appear to be remarkably similar. After the error was discovered, the authors repeated the experiments that concluded that this error did not affect the results, discussion, or conclusion of this paper. Figure 6A has now been corrected in the PDF and HTML (full text).
