AIM: To determine the genotypes and phylogeny of hepatitis B viruses (HBVs) in asymptomatic HBV carriers, and the prevalence of occult HBV infection in Long An County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, an area with a high incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma. METHODS. A nested polymerase chain reaction (nPCR) was used for detection of HBV DNA in serum samples from 36 blood donors with asympmatic HBV infection, and in serum samples from 52 HBsAg negative family members of the children who did not receive hepatitis B vaccination in Long An County. PCR products were sequenced, and the genotype of each HBV sequence was determined by comparison with sequences of known genotypes in the GenBank and EMBL nucleotide databases using the BLAST programme. Phylogenetic trees were constructed by the quartet maximum likelihood analysis using the TreePuzzle software. RESULTS: Twenty (55.56%) of 36 HBV asymptomatic carriers were positive for HBV DNA. They were all genotype C by comparison with sequences of known genotypes in the GenBank and EMBL nucleotide databases. The full-length HBV DNA sequence isolated from the sample No. 624 contained 3215 bases. No interesting mutations were found in this isolate. The homology analysis showed that this strain was closer to the Vietnamese HBV genotype C strain, with a homology of 97%, compared its relation to the same genotype of HBV isolated in Shanghai. Six (11.5%) of the 52 HBsAg negative family members were positive for HBV DNA. A point mutation was found in the sample No. 37, resulting in the substitution of amino acid glycine to arginine in the “a” determinant. Other samples with positive HBV DNA did not have any unusual amino acid substitutions in or around the “a” determinant, and were attributed to the wild-type HBV. CONCLUSION: The HBVs isolated from asymptomatic carriers of Long An County were all identified as genotype C, and the prevalence of occult HBV infection in the population of the county is as high as 11.5%. This paper presents a heuristic polarity decision-making algorithm for solving Boolean satisfiability （SAT）. The algorithm inherits many features of the current state-of-the-art SAT solvers, such as fast BCP, clause recording, restarts, etc. In addition, a preconditioning step that calculates the polarities of variables according to the cover distribution of Karnaugh map is introduced into DPLL procedure, which greatly reduces the number of conflicts in the search process. The proposed approach is implemented as a SAT solver named DiffSat. Experiments show that DiffSat can solve many ＂real-life＂ instances in a reasonable time while the best existing SAT solvers, such as Zchaff and MiniSat, cannot. In particular, DiffSat can solve every instance of Bart benchmark suite in less than 0.03 s while Zchaff and MiniSat fail under a 900 s time limit. Furthermore, DiffSat even outperforms the outstanding incomplete algorithm DLM in some instances.

In order to demonstrate the modulation of terahertz wave propagation in atmospheric pressure microplasmas,in this work,the band structure and the transmission characteristics of a onedimensional collisional microplasma photonic crystal are investigated,using the transfer matrix *** a lattice constant of 150μm and a plasma width of 100μm,three stopbands of microplasma photonic crystal are observed,in a frequency range of 0.1-5 ***,an increase in gas pressure leads to a decrease in the central frequency of the *** the gas pressure increases from 50.5 k Pa to 202 k Pa,the transmission coefficient of the THz wave first increases and then decreases at high frequency,where the wave frequency is much greater than both the plasma frequency and the collision ***,it is interesting to find that the central frequency and the bandwidth of the first THz stopband remain almost unchanged for electron densities of less than 10^15 cm^-3,increasing significantly when the electron density increases up to 10^16 cm^-3.A central frequency shift of 110 GHz,and a bandgap broadening of 200 GHz in the first stopband are *** addition,an atmospheric pressure microplasma with the electron density of 1×10^15-6×10^15 cm^-3 is recommended for the modulation of THz wave propagation by plasma photonic crystals.

Constructing highly-efficient electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)/oxygen evolution reaction(OER)/oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)with excellent stability is quite important for the development of renewable energy-related ***,Co-Ru based compounds supported on nitrogen doped two-dimensional(2D)carbon nanosheets(NCN)are developed via one step pyrolysis procedure(Co-Ru/NCN)for HER/ORR and following low-temperature oxidation process(Co-Ru@RuO_(x)/NCN)for *** specific 2D morphology guarantees abundant active sites ***,the synergistic effects arising from the interaction between Co and Ru are crucial in enhancing the catalytic ***,the resulting Co-Ru/NCN shows remarkable electrocatalytic performance for HER(70 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2))in 1 M KOH and ORR(half-wave potential E_(1/2)=0.81 V)in 0.1 M ***,the Co-Ru@RuO_(x)/NCN obtained by oxidation exhibits splendid OER performance in both acid(230 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2))and alkaline media(270 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2))coupled with excellent ***,the fabricated two-electrode water-splitting device exhibits excellent performance in both acidic and alkaline *** research provides a promising avenue for the advancement of multifunctional nanomaterials.

Lithium (Li)-CO_(2) battery is rising as an attractive energy-storage system with the competence of CO_(2) conversion/fixation. However, its practical development is seriously hindered by the high overpotential. Herein, a rational design on a highly catalytic Li-CO_(2) battery electrode built by graphdiyne powder as a multi-functional laminar scaffold with anchored highly dispersed Ru nanoparticles is explored. The strong interaction between the abundant acetylenic bond sites of graphdiyne scaffold and Ru nanoparticles can effectively promote the electrochemical progress and reduce the voltage polarization. The unique channels architecture of the cathodic catalyst with enough space not only accelerates CO_(2) diffusion and electrons/Li+ transport, but also allows a large amount of accommodation for discharged product (Li2CO3) to assure an advanced capacity. The corresponding Li-CO_(2) battery displays an advanced discharged capacity of 15,030 mAh/g at 500 mA/g, great capacity retention of 8873 mAh/g at 2 A/g, high coulombic efficiency of 97.6% at 500 mA/g and superior life span for 120 cycles with voltage gap of 1.67 V under a restricted capacity of 1000 mAh/g at 500 mA/g. Ex/in-situ studies prove that synergy between Ru nanoparticles and acetylene bonds of GDY can boost the round-trip CO_(2)RR and CO_(2)ER kinetics.

Pseudo-Semi-Overlap Functions-Based Fuzzy Rough Sets Applied to Image Edge Extraction

As an extension of overlap functions, pseudo-semi-overlap functions are a crucial class of aggregation functions. Therefore, (I, PSO)-fuzzy rough sets are introduced, utilizing pseudo-semi-overlap functions, and further extended for applications in image edge extraction. Firstly, a new clustering function, the pseudo-semi-overlap function, is introduced by eliminating the symmetry and right continuity present in the overlap function. The relaxed nature of this function enhances its applicability in image edge extraction. Secondly, the definitions of (I, PSO)-fuzzy rough sets are provided, using (I, PSO)-fuzzy rough sets, a pair of new fuzzy mathematical morphological operators (IPSOFMM operators) is proposed. Finally, by combining the fuzzy C-means algorithm and IPSOFMM operators, a novel image edge extraction algorithm (FCM-IPSO algorithm) is proposed and implemented. Compared to existing algorithms, the FCM-IPSO algorithm exhibits more image edges and a 73.81% decrease in the noise introduction rate. The outstanding performance of (I, PSO)-fuzzy rough sets in image edge extraction demonstrates their practical application value.
